Honor makes really nice phones. It is reflected in the engineering designs it inherited from Huawei.

Great first review, thanks for getting it out so quick for those interested in this and the specs. Got half an eye on this but only if I know it can take better pics than my P40 Pro Plus, as you know that's got 10x optical and 5G but no GMS hence I need an Honor X6 for banking but not having GMS is by no means a deal breaker for me...or maybe Huawei can top the Magic 6 Pro this year...but, at a price.

The whole no charger in the box and no case is why i went for the OnePlus 12 over this phone. Also crap freebies!! I was expecting more tbh. I imported the 16+1TB OnePlus flashed with Oxygen OS for 699 pounds so im pretty happy. This phone still looks great but i think the magic 5 pro was peak

Great vids... Honor has No Honour .. Chinese version has case and charger in the box..Why don't they do that to the Chinese population....... Because I wouldn't sell....... Apple and Samsung do it to everyone Fair/Unfair 😢

First of your videos I've seen and really liked it. I've got a Pixel 8 Pro at the moment but I'm seriously tempted. Does the Honor have any kind of call screening feature? I don't get a ton of unexpected phone calls but it's so helpful to be able to understand why someone is calling so I can make a decision as to whether to stop what I'm doing to take a call. I'm guessing Honor have their own apps which duplicate some of the stock Android apps, where this is the case can you easily delete duplicate apps? Lastly if changing the launcher, does that break any of the MagicOS features like the magic capsule or the lock screen customisation? I like using icon packs to refresh the look of my device.

Great vidoe. hello. I saw that the Chinese version has Google services. Besides Android Auto, is there anything else that doesn't work? Does google wallet work?

You mean the pop out window? Thats a setting in the YT app

So far they said they focused on the hardware part and the software is coming, but what we see is still the software from Huawei with small changes... There are no themes adapted to Magic OS 8, the theme editor is missing, one over another is a shame

can i just ask you about the charger. i noticed the cable that comes included in the box of the phone is type C to type C but the charger that you have to buy separately is type A charger. so do you get a type A to type C cable included in the box with a charger or whats the deal? thanks

I setup my one yesterday ...within 2 minutes 6% battery gone Case is very slippery and don't cover sides ,but for £10 is worth anyway Few problems to install messenger,but reinstalled app help And I don't think battery will be much better than others,but maybe phone still learn 😊

I've seen that you can change what the swipe down on the home screen does. Now you can choose it to be the notifications bar.

@@AverageDadOfficial apparently it's in the settings somewhere. Is the zoom really good? I'm doubtful. I have a Huawei P40 Pro and it's zoom at 5x and 10x is excellent. Will the honor be better? Huawei was so good. Sad about the ban. So I struggle sometimes. So I want to switch to Honor. I would like an Oppo Find X7 Ultra or Vivo X100 pro but global carriers aren't carrying it.

Hi! Do third party apps downloaded from the Play Store accept the 3D face unlock for app biometric unlock or is that limited to fingerprint only?

@@AverageDadOfficial thanks. Face ID is the only thing I "miss" from the iPhone, so this phone having a 3D face unlock caught my attention. Having to constantly switch between biometric methods would be annoying I think. What's an app that does accept it? If at least some do, while most don't, I'm guessing it's not an Android issue but apps not including it in their code (?).

I love all the negative comments regarding Honor ‘copying’ features from other OS’s. So what, don’t you want the best of both worlds? Imagine an OS with the best of what Apple & Samsung/Google have to offer. All I want now is Samsungs Edge Panel feature and I’m sold.

Short Answer: both cost the same, I'd take the Honor Magic 6 pro Honor: + Face ID + Best Battery life on the market + Best screen, speakers and selfies (according to dxomark) + 66W wireless charging (OnePlus:50W) (+ Better camera than oneplus 12) -/+ curved screen OnePlus 12: + higher pixel density (510ppi) + 100W charging (Honor: 80W) (+Capable of 8k 24fps video) - only IP65

@@AverageDadOfficial just the 14 it's called isn't it? Not the ultra. Both come out about the same price in UK it seems. Xiaomi give a watch and a pad with the 14 but I don't really want it. Is the camera on magic 6 pro superior to the 14? (I think pro is just bigger, same specs, only sold in China I believe)

The Xiaomi is way more expensive but if u really don't care about the money, you will probably get a bit more. But Battery life is better on the Honor + Face unlock

@@AverageDadOfficial as good as new! But i got a good deal (including reselling my magic 5) and the upgrade would cost me about 300€. And since you used both, you probably can tell if it's worth it I wish they gave it a flat screen finally.. Hopefully next year

Used the Chinese version, it comes with the charger and the case in the box. The software experience is not great and the camera is hit and miss, the front shooter is trash. The dynamic island only works with built-in apps, face ID doesn't work with banking apps. Software is way too janky however, the battery life is light-year ahead of the pack.
