A new travelogue in the 1948 Ercoupe with . We travel through California and Oregon for the WAAAM Fly-In at Hood River.
Part 4 - Early morning departure from Ken Jerstedt Airfield after the WAAAM fly-in. We fly a picturesque departure from the Hood River Valley, along the Columbia River, then turn South to Madras, Prineville and into Lakeview, Oregon.

Great to see the 'pre-flight ' map again James. I enjoy studying your U.S. format charts, so different from my N.Z. ones, and spend almost as much time tracking you and flicking back at points of interest as I do watching your video. Great stuff!

Prineville Oregon is the place where a local rancher named Les Schwab lived. He learned that the tire shop where he had his tractors tires worked on would be closing. He determined to buy the tire changing equipment at the resulting auction, which he did. That is where the Les Schwab tire chain began. He was quite a guy. Prineville Oregon.

G,day James from Sydney Australia. How long since checking the oleo struts (seals, oil and gas)? Great video, captured some interesting land formations. 🌏🇦🇺

Hey John. They had not been done for many years. I did them a month after this video, new seals, donuts, 5606 oil. There's no gas in the oleos on the Ercoupe.
