I just wanna clear up the N1 reason. Back in the day the Super Taikyu or Super Endurance race series in Japan was called N1 Super Taikyu. It is a race for N class cars. This means production class. So those options Andrew mentions being a factory option from Nissan and not Nismo is because the cars had to come straight from the factory. The N1 Endurance series ran from 1991 to 1995. It was changed to Super N1 Taikyu Series until 2005 and these days it is just called the Super Taikyu Series which runs multiple classes. So if you wanna know more just google those keywords.

The N1 was also painted this shade of white as it was the lightest paint (least amount of coats) available for the cars

I’m from the Uk and we’ve had these cars since the 90’s unlike the US who have only recently seen these on their shores they are also responsible for the crazy price hike, which for a skyline owner ain’t too bad but what Australia has done for this brand is immense you guys are the leaders in tuning and owning GTRs salute

A few of these dealers didn't know what they had. When the R32 first came over, Japanese Car Classic sold a few N1's for 50-60k 😂😂😂

There is another N1 in the Nissan range was the JN15 Nissan Pulsar VZ-R N1. Which is another rare collection. Surprise, surprise Australia has a few of them.

Turns out the Super Taikyu series was previously called the Super N1 Taikyu Series, so that is probably where it's from.

I actually got taken around mt panorama in the r32 n1 when we had 3 N1 gtrs together for the first time almost ever. It was such a unbelievable experience

came outa school turning my nose up at the cheap GTST versions that you could pick up for less than $20k well flogged. the real skylines were the GTRs that commanded $30k - $40k you just couldn't afford

I've known about these for years, admittedly only because there was an in depth feature on 'em in a local New Zealand car magazine. I never knew about the rear windscreen, thanks!

N1 is for group N racing locally in Japan. It's basically group A, with same tuning allowances but different racing style

Such a cool video mate. I have been following Motive since they made dvd's and own many of them. The history in Australia they have been amongst it all. Its amazing how big GTR's are becoming huge in the states these days. In the first first fast n furious movie the yellow R33gtr was my favourite. Having modified and owned many gtst and gtt I never had the cash free to get a gtr at the time. We call the R33 'A boat' in Australia. We just love them. When you get time checkout Gibson Motorsport and do a video on them. Your viewers will love it. Enjoying watching from Australia.

I thought i was a gtr nerd, my dad owned a 280z and my mom had a 510, so inherently i grew to love the skyline as the top dog, I thought even knowing about the rare z tunes that were bought back, but i never even heard of n1, this collection is more interesting/impressive than any super car collector, nissan for life🤟🏼 also the word nissan means 23 in japanese, which is the number they used as their first race car

Best-R in Japan had one with 10km on the clock. I almost fell over when I realised what I was looking at. Also worth noting that the parcel shelf is different on the N1 with no speaker cut outs or wiper assembly/surround.

Imagine still being around in a time where manufacturers were over engineering absolute monsters like this, no expense spared absolute bomb proof rockets, Japan truly knew what the fuck was going on back in the 80s/90s, really impressive to see

The rear spats on the 32 are the most attractive visual cue on the N1. It flows the skirts perfectly and everyone has the skirts but nobody has the spats. No idea why theirs repros of all the aero but the spats from Nissan.

The N1 engine (so the story goes), was asked by Gibson Motorsport in the 1990's to be built, as the torque produced would crack the block from the longitudal twist produced, cracking at the turbo drain point, along with other improvements that Gibson Motorsport had worked out/ broke engines because of etc. The Japanese could never build the cars like Gibson Motorsport could- and they wanted to know how his team did it

Always loved the N1's! They have all the nice parts that nissan could offer. My '95 R33 GTR V-spec is quite special aswell. Not because it is spark silver, or because it's a januari 1995 S1 But because it came with a passenger airbag from the factory (wich is really hard to find on 95's but became standard on S2 96 models) and it doesn't have the rear wiper, also from the factory.😊 i went through the register and from memory there are like 2 or 3 of them made this way in this exact spec. I had no idea when i bought it in 2010.😂 and i don't know if the others still excist today.

I believe that Jason and John White won the 2005 Targa Tasmania in an R34 GT-R N1 (had the carbon bonnet). That was the first time that I'd heard of an N1.

My memories of N1 GTRs are seeing the Targa Tasmania races on tv which they always did well

I always assumed "N1" was derived from the N1 Endurance Championship in Japan that has since been renamed Super Taikyu.

I can tell you that Nissan Motorsport does use secret sauce My Stanza rally car used works brakes rear axle assembly steering gear etc and for instance the steering gear looks stock but is made from some very special steels, Brake disks on later models like Skylines were made by AP racing but Nissan supplied the billets that were used to manufacture the Brake disks when AP racing manufactured them. The works Struts I ran had very special front hub bearings that had etched markings on the bearings not stamped like normal bearings and were designed to be run at 110 NM of preload certainly not your average tapered wheel bearings those ones. The Rear axle bearings were specials basically like double sided Front inner bearings in a common one piece housing again etched numbers and the bearing retainers were twice as long as normal bearing retainers, The Differential housings Live Axle H 190 had baffle plates to keep diff oil from running away into the outside of the axle housings in long high G turns the Axle tube sections of the Diff housings had 3.5 mm steel machined sleeves pressed into the Differential tube sections all to strengthen for rally use. Diff centres were also specials and crown wheels and pinions also were specials and better than sports option parts. Alternators were specials, Turbo models are also custom hand built special Turbos such as the Bluebird Turbos made for the Safari rally in Kenya and with a life expectancy of one year of competition use. Going back to the early Nissan KP 710 rally cars they used special quite heavy siamese blocks , The Nissan FIA SOHC Cylinder heads used on the L series four cylinders are also quite special the rocker arm adjusters are a finer thread than production models for easier closer tolerance valve clearance adjustments, Nissan really did make some very special components for use by the Factory Teams across the world. I also had something that Nissan themselves do not have in their factory Race and rally Car Museum in Japan since sold and that was a Nissan PB210, Looks like a 120Y four door with an LJ torana style longer nose but with an LZtTwin cam engine at 1595 cc with up to 230 Hp depending on what events they were used in based on the Nissan LZ 14 Formula Pacific engines and that particular car was driven by Factory Nissan driver Sheka Mehta from Kenya in the Australian Southern Cross rally based out of Port Macquarie. So because so much of the gear used in my Cars was used by the actual Factory teams and supplied by Nissan Motorsport Australia when run by Howard Marsden and my later purchase of a Stanza Liftback Coupe was from Geroge Fury as it was his personal car and prior to that was Howards personal car when at Rallies around the country I had some useful contacts to obtain the right parts literally as used by the Factory team itself. I suppose it is like the Holden Motorsport Cars where things like on the line the body shells used for racing teams had twice as many spot welds in certain places compared to normal road cars actually done on the production line. I still have for instance the full factory build manuals for the Escort BDA MK 2 rally cars as back in the Day when Colin Bond ran the Cars I was involved in escort rally cars also, And every factory has some sort of "Secret sauce" I have been lucky enough to be privy to some of that insider information

The R32 Vspec ll was one of my all time favorite model I that tuned and raced when Gran Turismo first launched in 97’. Nissan does a lot of testing in the Nurburing race track, chances that N1 might stand for the tuning for that specific track, just one of my guessing.

JAF N1/N2/N3 are regulations valid in Japan used in national/domestic race events. These regulations can be found on Japan Automobile Federation web for 2022 or in "Yellow Book" called JAF Domestic Competition Vehicle Regulations. These are issued every year. Each year there are some changes for example until 1990 side exhausts were allowed (1990 300km Sendai Hi-land #26 Diesel Kiki GTR), until 1992 side mirrors could be replaced, 1993 air-jack systems could be installed and so on.

My 33 has no rear wiper and didn’t have from factory. It was optional. Not just the glass. The stalk of course is different too

Unbelievable content Larry! I honestly thought I'd heard of all the trims/variants of the R32, R33 and R34 but this just really opened my eyes! If I was only like 5 yrs older I coulda afforded least something like Supra, S15, R33 especially here in Canada even 10yrs ago. I thought I'd get a Toyota Chaser 1JZ but they've doubled or more in a lot of cases in just the last few yrs. But no gf, cheap rent, decent job been at over 5 yrs now. I'm going to own something awesome an Japanese within the next few yrs if I die trying after 9 yrs driving a car accident just over 2 yrs ago broke my C6 in my neck and smashed my right hand. Just glad I can still drive! Finally got a bigger safer mint Dodge only 145k kms Journey R/T for abit more car than my 02 Toyota Matrix even it being an amazing little car. They wanted to rebreak it after idiot cast it wrong oh and they sent me home after x-rays were "read" no breaks called about 14 hrs later almost 10pm gave me an all plastic brace and said take off anytime and w.e. It was that doctor from emergency saying I'm so so so sorry we just looked at x-rays "again" before leaving and your neck is broken put brace on and wait 5 days to see neurosurgeon. They were freaking when I walked in to see this brace used to get you stable to hospital changed to a real cervical brace, seen neurologist and she was in shock just kept saying they didn't see it and told you it's not broke and didn't have you get back asap for the correct brace. Then opens x-rays less then 20 seconds from 8/10 angles she pointed the break out and believed they never looked when sending me home also so thankfully I didn't need the halo rods like they wanted and then my hand same place emerge put cast on palm and my index and middle finger as index was not attached. It was a cast worked fine for me two weeks then go see the "specialist" lmao they took x-rays while the young girl made comments on my cast saying it's pretty ugly, where you get it done? Said here. She goes no way who did it? I dunno was a little out of it girl didn't catch his name. They cut that cast working perfectly off. Then he put a fibreglass one on not plaster okay cool. Well he didn't wrap my fingers AT ALL. I even said don't those need support nope they'll be good. Two weeks check up cut cast says make a fist and my index now fully healed was going on top of my middle finger LMFAO it healed on like a 45° angle cause of this goof. He looked like oh shit fuck me um I have some bad news oh really? He then had me to another 2 hr total drive besides waiting to see the surgeon did x-ray and said why ru here? I'm like what? He said why weren't you here 3 months ago or w.e? So I explain he said well it's healed now we have to fully break it, put screws and if room a plate in it. I said no you're not 😊 they were like well it hardly ever works but you can try self therapy aka just try using it and working my hand out thankfully from yrs before had putty made for it in different strengths well I dunno if shear will and determination. But two days before I went to see them again I made a first a normal like I moved my finger back freaking I went to my mom to ask if that's real lol she's in shock too it's like nothing happened but my knuckle is a little tiny bit low but works great thank the Lord. I go back they take new X-rays and before the doctor spoke looking at two x-ray side by side one looks smashed the other to me looked perfect and I said that's not the new x-ray on the right is it? He said yes...I said omg it looks good doesn't it? He took a second more and came to shake my hand and say he doesn't know how but I did what 99% of ppl don't have the determination to do, congratulations. But seeing as it was healed he said if it ever bothers me he can always do it for me any time in future but two yrs in and it's working great and my back 🙏🏼 So yeah I'm an Enduro/Dirt Bike guy only for now until I know I'm ready for a street bike when cars did almost kill me but also saved me and I believe wouldn't of happened if on a bike as a transport cut me off at 60km him not moving almost dark he had no lights at all on just moving from motel to gasbar 50ft yeah I woulda taken the oncoming center or the right hand shoulder but my old Matrix no abs nothing they thought it was a fatal when ambulance got there in less then 5 being dispatch 3 km away thankfully.

I've seen an N1 S13 in Japan.... I have pictures of it from Miracle XBar.... At least the S13 was stripped and added rigidity via welds.
