This is one of the biggest issues with games like these with the "ratings" formula. Like to an extent, you could pick Luke Kennard, a decent player imo, with his 90+ 3pt rating and you can either get greens while open if you're good enough or just put player % and watch him drill almost all shots (if not contested). And then, depending on the difficulty, you can make KD miss all the shots. It's pretty stupid. And also players getting mad for a videogame... same stupid shit. Like there's also as a player not a real meaningful stat per se, because they also include badges... a 2nd layer of stats. Even if you have a good dunk rating, your characters often times try to lay it up instead of dunking it or viceversa. It's such a stupid game.

They should have an algorithm that updates based on each game for current players.

I don’t play 2k, but the issue with the rating system, and with any game honestly is that the cap is 99. You have to base it on Who’s the best at that skill and then you rank every other player base off of that. For example, Steph curry is 99 in 3 pt. Suppose to be regarded as the best 3 pt shooter. And everyone else is supposedly lower than him. So they have to start putting everyone, who are probably great 3 pt shooters lower than him. Even though some of them should be a 99. And this goes with all other skills as well. There’s a top person and everyone else’s skill is compared to that. Westbrook should probably be a 90, but he won’t get that rating because there are other players in the league who do other things better than him that they have him so low. The only other way to actually fix this, is to remove the cap and not put an overall rating but give the players just a rating on specific skills.

I recently bought this game for my ps5. I hadn’t played 2K since 2k15 with KD on the cover. It’s still the same game. The players aren’t fluid, their animations are choppy and unrealistic. It was a total disappointment.

Honestly only one who should be a 99 is Steph after what he did in the playoffs last season and after what he's doing this season. All the other ratings are pretty spot on
