@FengG0 six to one, half a dozen to the other. Yeah, I’m sure every player has some level of ego in order to keep themselves motivated. But these two don’t let that get in the way of supporting each other or their team. There’s a scene from the We are the World doco, above the door at the entrance of the studio there was a hand written sign that said something like Leave your ego at the door. That’s how I kinda see these two within the team this year.

THe reason why Dallas has had any success at all is because Kyrie and Luca are both HUSTLING on defense. They aren't great defenders, maybe not even 'good' defenders - but the hustle is huge. When they do lose to OKC or the TWolves in the WCF that same hustle is going to attract a lot of other players who will want to join them for a true title run next year :)
@Smido83
@Smido83 Ай бұрын
The Mavs do not need to attract other players. And they cant really do much next offseason in the 1st place. Luka/Kyrie/Exum/Green/THJ/Hardy/Lawson/Washington/O-Max/Maxi/Gafford/Lively/Powell... Thats 13 guys already under contract. They also want to extend DJJ. He is the no 1 priority this offseason. Means they have one roster spot open. Means one vet Min free agent (they can not offer anything else) is all. But who knows... maybe Klay Thompson wants to sign for a vet Min contract with the Mavs... or Paul Gorge? 😂

@Smido83 fr. This is the first roster by the mavs that I felt didn't need tinkering. They fr just need time. People forget this roster was constructed just before the season(maybe 1 year ago cause of kyrie). The fact that they reached the 2nd round even though that's the case, is an achievement. Maybe they'll do sum with that one roster spot, but for me DJJ is the priority this offseason. Fans and front office shouldn't be impatient. Look at the nuggets. They traded for Gordon but they were with each other for a while, at least their core was. They signed kcp. Drafted really good. We shouldn't need another star. We need to develop our team more. And if it doesnt work out next year, then maybe a coaching change. But this team is solid for now, and shouldn't be touched except for THJ I guess

This video makes a lot of sense. It is such a bad idea to pair Luka who is very similar fo Harden with Kyrie assuming it would be any different, + they didn't have KD, but it's not like the nets weren't good, they just weren't available, offensively this duo is amazing, and when they give it their all on defense they are a damn hard team to beat, and while seeming questionable at first, the mavs' wild move has found Luka that 2nd super star in their prime he needs that they could never get for Dirk, and are finally seeming like a competent front office
@martinblake2278
@martinblake2278 Ай бұрын
another reason is because the fans knew this team can comeback. also, they are one of the top 3 teams that can win it this year. My reasoning for this is, Luka will very likely be the best player on the floor, Kyrie will very likely be the 2nd or even best player on the floor, and their defense is elite. Championship formula IMHO.

Luka is clearly 1A and Kyrie the 1B... They can be considered equal in terms of scoring, but Luka also provides so much playmaking/passing. This is the reason they CAN work together this well: Complementarity. This is the exact same reason the "big 3" of the Suns CANNOT work together well: they do not complement each other's skill sets, they are the exact same type of players (premium scorers/shooters).

The first time I ever saw a true dynamic duo (I was there for it) was Jordan and Pip. Pip laid his talent down at the feet of the Bulls, giving them the formula for Jordan to be who he was. When Jordan just didn't have it (go back and check the tapes) Pip took over and showed who he really was. I think he regrets that decision now, but that's what it was. In this situation nobody is being asked to not be who they are (and nobody is being asked to be larger than life), and man, we are seeing beauty in sportsmanship. Glad to witness it.

Last time we saw it was Brooklyn. It didn't work. This is the only time it has worked.

I've always maintained - the problem in Brooklyn wasn't Kyrie. The problem was NYC.

The Mavs HAD TO make the Kyrie trade. The previous front office had done so much damage it needed a big swing to make up ground

The Mavs are legit contenders, a few solid vets may take them to the promise land.

I’m the one who got Kyrie traded by showing him both that Kendrick’s 2017 Grammy & Pulitzer Prize winning album was all about how they’re the real Hebrew Israelite Jews of the Bible, and every year since the summer of 2017, the 2018 Hebrews To Negroes documentary that Kyrie posted a screenshot of that got him traded from the area of the highest Ashkenazi ‘J3ws’ in the country.. and when he got traded, he just so happened to get traded to my Mavs.. lol.. you’re welcome fellow Mavs fans ! ;) And even talked with Kevin Durant’s best friend about it face to face a few months ago after we filmed their podcast episode with Ryan Garcia here in Dallas where Ryan lives now

Yes, we HAVE seen something like this before: Curry and Durant. Each was capable of taking over a game. Their stats were virtually identical. I watched them take turns when it was time for a game-winner.
