One of the great perks of owning an older Corvette is constant repairs. My vette is in the shop right now getting $3000 in fuel system repairs... new injectors and fuel pump. We are not certain the injectors and pump are the problem. It randomly quits while going down the road. I have driven it for as long as 6 months with no problem then it stranded me last week. I figure injectors and pumps wear out so replacing them is not a total loss if it turns out to be the ecm or such.

Skip White Performance is where I buy all my engine parts. They have a Dart block BBC 505 Scat, Forged, Wiseco, King Bearing BRAND NEW!!! Short block for $4,395!!!! That's INSANE! An old block 496 short block is over 5 grand with stock level replacement parts. Wizard will agree for sure. I absolutely love these guys. I did a Scat/Wiseco 383 with my kid that we started building for his 17th birthday. Mostly to get him into the process and experiencing the results vs a 270k tired 5.7 vortec with a leaking injector in the "spider".$1,370 something? it cost me for the complete forged rebuild kit with a spec'd no name roller cam with a 600 lift and 220-230ish duration? Not too shabby and ready for much more. It ended up being sold eventually but it was a ripper.

Not likely. Removal and installation maybe but I think the wizard has said he doesn't have the time to build engines.
@joe60963 жыл бұрын
@@JohnG6 Yup, Wizard doesn't do engine rebuilds. Need a specialty shop for that, and frankly, I wouldn't want anyone who doesn't do nothing but full engine tear downs and rebuilds full time to touch it. Gotta do it right too. Balance and blueprint the crank, replace the oil pump with a Melling high volume performance oil pump, hone the cylinder walls, square the decks, and I'd replace all the rockers, valve springs, and pushrods with Crower performance. High lift cam, advance the timing, really make it a beast in sheeps clothing.
