Avenged Sevenfold’s 'Waking The Fallen: Resurrected’ is out now via Hopeless Records.

LYRICS:
Cry alone, I've gone away
No more nights, no more pain
I've gone alone, took all my strength
I've made the change
I won't see you tonight
Sorrow, sank deep inside my blood
All the ones around me I cared for and loved
Building up inside of me
A place so dark, so cold
I had to set me free
Don't mourn for me, you're not the one to place the blame
As bottles called my name
I won't see you tonight
Sorrow, sank deep inside my blood
All the ones around me I cared for and most of all I loved
But I can't see myself that way, please don't forget me
Or cry while I'm away
Cry alone, I've gone away
No more nights, no more pain
I've gone alone, took all my strength
But I've made the change
I won't see you tonight
So far away, I'm gone
Please don't follow me tonight
And while I'm gone everything will be alright
No more breath inside
Essence left my heart tonight
No more breath inside
Essence left my heart tonight

This song still brings tears to my eyes. When I heard that Jimmy had died, I burst in to tears. He's my idol, as a drummer who's been playing for 8 years he was my biggest influence, like ever. I've got a load of remembrance posters and Rev posters/A7X paintings on my walls in my room haha. I listened to this song like straight after, and just couldn't stop crying. Every time it reminds me of that moment. It reminds me of what an amazing person he was. I usually end up watching the 'So Far Away' music video after haha. R.I.P Jimmy 'The Rev' Sullivan 28.12.2009

My cousin past away about 2 months ago. He was only only 23 and had 2 kids. I'm 27. Despite our age gap, we spent lots of time together listening to a7x and the first time we smoked weed/cigarettes/drank was together. There are so many songs that make me think of him but this and So Far Away are the ones that really get to me. Rest In Peace Lukas. You had a short but powerful life

Not at all. I'll be in a nursing home someday if I live that long, annoying/scaring other old people with this album. I'll die to this music. This will never get old for me. This is modern classic music. I hope it's remembered as such. If not, I'll still be here to play it so people don't forget. :)

Fun fact: this song is about suicide told from the perspective of the person committing suicide (which is why it has a sad tone to it). Part 2 is from the perspective of the angry/confused family and friends of the deceased one (hence, it's violent/angry tone). I heard that they made this song as a tribute to Justin Sane (former bass player for them) because he attempted suicide.

My cousin committed suicide a few days ago. Avenged Sevenfold was one of her favorite bands, and she was the one who introduced me to them when I was a teenager. I now have the death bat tattooed on my back, which she was there for. She took me to my first concert: Avenged Sevenfold at Taste of Chaos. We both found out about The Rev's death at the same time and mourned together. This song reminds me of her. It helps me begin understand what she may have been thinking. Thank you, A7X, for writing such beautiful, meaningful music that is loved and cherished by so many.

My 51 year old father committed suicide a few days ago. Listening to this reminds me that he’s not suffering anymore. No more nights, no more pain.

Rip. I've been listening to this non stop trying to cope with the thoughts of suicide. Went to a parking garage to kill myself today but someone was smoking on the roof

And again I’m still here in 2021 with the band that I grow up with... I’m here crying and thinking about my past. Thanks GOD to made me know them and grew up with their music. My brothers always turned their song on when I was so young I’m not sure maybe I was 6-8 years old and now I almost turn to 18 on this August how can I couldn’t say that I grew up with them. I still cry and miss my HERO Jimmy Sullivan and I will miss him forever until the day I follow him to Heaven 🖤
