I am honestly flattered that I found this channel. You are real!! I respect your raw honestly in everything that you are accomplishing. Motherhood is hard work. Let alone homesteading and keeping it real! This channel is unique on it's own. You are not trying to perfect your daily tasks. Life has enough challenges. Thank you for being real with yours. You are showing the truth behind homesteading. It's dirty, messy, and never ending. If we don't work. We don't eat. I'm watching this video and enjoying the simplicity through the entire post.....

You make everything that you do look so easy! Here’s a tip that you might find helpful. Years ago I had an organic garden. Someone told me a super easy way to grow potatoes that really works. Have a patch of dirt without weeds, lay your seed potatoes on top -DON’T DIG- cover them with at least foot deep of straw. As the potato vines grow you may need to add more straw, but I never did. The idea is to keep the sunlight from reaching the potatoes. The vines will grow through the straw and hold it in place. When the vines die simply roll back the dead vines and straw. Voilà! There are all of your big, beautiful, clean potatoes. No digging. No cut potatoes. It was so much fun, it was like Christmas morning. This does not work for sweet potatoes, only white potatoes.

Excellent advice about the garlic! It’s crazy to me that you were a nurse and were never taught about the side effects of those things. Good for you for doing your own research!

It is crazy that they don't teach that, but they don't. I know a lot of doctors and nurses and not only were they not taught those things, but they also only spent about one week of school on nutrition and it was just an overview. Yet nutrition is the basis of all health.

New subscriber! Glad I found your channel! My MIL taught me the garlic trick 20+ years ago when my oldest ones were little and although I thought I was pretty open to natural ways, I was scared to try it because I just thought it sounded weird to put raw garlic inside an ear lol. But when I finally tried it, it really did work! I've been on a journey of learning natural health since then. I'm now a certified holistic nutritionist, herbalist, and wellness coach!

My grandmother would warm up olive oil then put slices of fresh garlic . She would then dip a cotton ball in the solution and put it in my ear.. it always worked . I used it for my own children.

Whenever I had an ear infection as a child, my mum put a clove of garlic cut up in a table spoon then added a little bit of olive oil and heated it up or rather let it boil on the fire, then let it cool off and dropped a few drops in my ear and the infection was gone. My mom used a lot of natural remedies like this one.

I grew up in Northern Virginia - My mother and grandmother always used pickles or relish (dill) , and mustard in their potato salad. That's how I learned to make it, and still do today. I also use bacon in mine, too. Your recipe is very similar to mine. I totally agree with you about making your own mayonnaise - SO much better!

I just came across your channel and I have a little one that had ear infections all the time when he was in public school. I ended up pulling him out of public school a couple years ago and since then he has not had one single ear infection, or any major illness like he did, when he was in public school. His asthma has drastically improved as well which is awesome! He has not had any antibiotics since pulling him out of public school. Anytime he has a cold coming on. I always go to natural remedies from things that grow in my garden and they work so much better than any anabiotic he has ever been put on in the past. I will definitely give the garlic a try for earaches for my husband. My husband struggles with ear problems. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us🥰🥰🥰

Medical books from the 1800s? Dude come on...they used to think bloodletting and miasma were real. Denouncing modern medicine as a whole over a few issues is insanity and makes you stupid as hell. Does old stuff work, like garlic in the ear? Yes. Does modern medicine do stuff like ROBOTIC BRAIN SURGERY????? Also yes. It's not all the devil. Don't be a brainwashed idiot

This, my kids are ever hardly prescribed antibiotics by their pediatricians I have 3 kids and only 1 has ever used them due to a pretty bad UTI that turned into a kidney infection, their pediatrician are not holistic but they are conservative on the overuse of medication and antibiotics, not all pediatricians push antibiotics and unnecessary medications.

Oooh i love garlic. We take fermented honey garlic all fall and winter, even my littles eat it. Tastes like sweet and sour sauce. Not nearly as hot as traditional raw garlic. So good for you! Also a great tip for pasta, potato even rice dishes, rub a cut clove of garlic around your bowl before adding hot food, adds great flavor with no chunks, and then you can still chop it up for another use if desired!!

Hi there! New sub from suggestions and fellow creator. I'm also a nurse of 20 years and grew up homesteading. Yes, I agree, I would have done thing differently as well with the children. Maybe I can pass that onto my children of the knowledge we now have. Bless you! Nice to meet you Eggs: tap the fat end til you hear the crack, you may not see it, and then boil as normal. That will allow the water in and in the cold bath afterwards, the membrane released and they'll peel perfectly Everytime. I used to rely on baking soda trick and it still didn't always work. The tap works ALWAYS! 😊 We use sweet pickles in our salads. We like sweet salad not dill. Even in the deviled eggs.
