I'm Steph, wife of John & mom of 4 living on a 5th generation homestead. My husband's great-grandparents bought this farm in rural Missouri in 1942. My husband was supposed to take the farm over after high school - but he decided to go a different direction and moved out on his own. At that time he said he'd never get married or have kids. But here we are - 4 kids later and back on the farm. I grew up in town - so farm life has been a new adventure for me and I absolutely love it. I'm learning as I go and opting out of as many broken systems as I can along the way. We've lived here almost five years now, we homeschool our kids here, raise and grow more of our own food all the time, and our last baby was even born here on the farm - my first home birth. Learn with me as I share glimpses into our life on the farm.

13:20 this is how my Egyptian mom makes her tomato sauce! She thinks that throwing away the peels is really wasteful and that they’re a good fiber source. Instead of canning though she prefers to freeze the tomato sauce.

My mom always added pickles to our potato salad, I thought that was normal till I got older and realized you can make it a million ways. I also add some white vinegar to my potato salad, like a splash.

Your videos was suggested to me and I am so loving them. You have a beautiful family. A beautiful home and everything you do inspires me to do more. I started a garden. I have a lot of tomatoes growing, so your homemade sauce was the perfect solution. I grew up in the city. I am now in my forties with five children and living in a suburban country area and I am loving this life here. And you make it seem so easy. God bless you and your family and thank you for teaching me to live a healthier natural living life.

Does that hurt the babies neck to be hanging back like that in the wrap you have it in? I'm not trying to be mean I promise, it's just that I saw the babies head leaning back that's all. I have just found this channel and I have to say that I really like the idea of making your own laundry detergent. Please don't take me wrong I'm only asking. God bless!! ❤

Right before you talked about how important it was for the rim of the jars to be clean as you turned to grab another jar your baby mouthed the rim of one of the one that you were holding and drooled into it. I looked down at my 8-month-old attempting to stuff the remote control in his mouth and had to laugh out loud !it's like they are a combination between a zombie, a shark, a octopus and an alligator due to the excitement of trying to change a diaper.

I just found you and I just love how you are able to do so much the natural way, I would have loved to have been able to do what you do, but I'm past the age to be able to do so, and Don't have any property to do it in. You remind me of the Proverbs 31 woman, who took care of her home and kids and husband and so much more. May the LORD JESUS BLESS you and your family Abundantly in all of your endeavors and walk with HIM. You are an encouragement to other women. I love to watch you but I'm not able to get the recipes that you mentioned that you can get below. You are also a walking encyclopedia of valuable information. Thank you for sharing your story and life with us.

Forgot...I got into Sourdough. Baking in 2016. I was given a SDS from a friend from California. His SDS originated on the Oregon Trail. Now I have two jars always. My first SDS I named Genesis. I had a house fire....went to stay with neighbor for 1 month...the house was being brought back to order. I guess it is the Law all food in refrigerator and about...needs to be sent to garbage. Lost my Genesis. Talked with my friend and he sent me Genesis2 and I now do only Sourdough Breads and have two glass jars in the refrigerator. I use a combo of whole wheat, spelt, rye, and Bread flour to feed. DELICIOUS taste to my Sourdough Multigrain Seeded Bread Recipe. Are you going to share your Bread procedure and recipe?

I’m going to try this recipe tomorrow!!! I’m excited 🥳🥳 why pressure and not water bath? Out of curiosity. I’m so new to the canning world! I’ve only ever done tomato juice and apple sauce.
@HopewellHeights
@HopewellHeights Жыл бұрын
Tomato only sauce can be water bath canned because of the ph but this recipe has to be pressure canned due to the carrots - so there’s more time involved on that end but I’d still rather pressure can this recipe with a higher yield than make traditional sauce!

I had to watch the milking part one more time when I read this comment. 😅 (I LOVE cows and milking). Cows do look skinny, especially jerseys. A horse with spine, hips and pelvis showing like that would be severely underweight. This cow might be a bit skinny, but a cow with flat back and round bum would be severely overweight.
