The void items are a genius edition, I can't tell you how many times I've passed up bustling fungus just due to the character I was playing. Really excited to see the new characters eventually, hopefully next month (please)?

If the mobile turrets where considered spriting, then that would mean bungus would be useful on both turret types.

For the small amount of time you have been hired, Jonathan, you have already put in an exponential amount of work, and I am really thankful that Hopoo has a community manager this effective. Seriously, thanks for keeping us informed John, and tell the rest of the team that the stuff they are making is putting smiles on many faces.

Love this form of the dev thoughts, I think it helps to get a much better feel for the changes/updates and the ideas behind them! Amazing you still manage such cool and innovative item ideas expansion after expansion!!

You guys found a cool way to add the Telescopic Sight from RoR1 into RoR2! Nice!! And it seems that the Polylute is essentially RoR2’s equivalent of the Plasma Chain! Even better!!

I really really prefer this style of update over the steam page update, I play the game every once in a while so I don't really find myself checking the steam update page a lot, but I do enjoy hearing about what the guys at hopoo are up to, so this is a nice change of pace. I remember back in the day there was a developer interview for ROR2 and it felt very natural to just have a heart to heart with the devs on what they were doing. Also the small goofy jokes bring a smile to my face, so keep doing it like this!

The community loves you, Dev Team. Never forget that. Thank you for delivering such a fantastic game.

I missed the chance to say so last time, so Welcome Jonathan! I love the video format, it turned out very professional, charming, and conscience! Also I've been pronouncing Hopoo wrong this whole time. And above EVERYTHING else, I want to commend the Devs for deciding that the expansion works that way in multiplayer, I'm going to buy it day 1, but I primarily play with a group of friends that I'm not so sure about, I'll love the fact that I can get the expansion, and let them mess around with the new items, even if they can't try the new characters.

This is great, I love finally hearing a voice behind the game, The video is layered out in simple and organized manner, this is good, please do more!

Thank you guys for all the amazing work your doing, with mixing up and trying new things out in regards to reaching out to the community like this dev video. I definitely think this video was a great idea and has a good mix of information/visually correlated game play and the editing is pretty on point. If you guys keep this as the standard for your community updates I would probably quite enjoy it. My one small critique is simply with the blog posts text content feeling a bit off in the organization from your other posts, but I understand it's more or less a transcript of the video and not the normal written article. I appreciate the new video format, its easier to digest than raw text and seeing things work on a video is better than pictures or .gifs alone. Also allows for music to help sell the mood better.

The new void items are such a cool mechanic! I love that you have to take into account your survivor, your other items, whether you're going for loops or final boss and make your choice. I hope for more of them!

Great video, very concise with delivering the information while have fun visuals in the background to keep us engage. I'm very appreciative of how much focus you have on your community as a whole and ensuring that everyone is able to continue to play the game regardless of level, skill or expansion. My friends and i come back to this game all the time because the gameplay is steadily built up, its great to converse over, can get very challenging later on, you feel good about how far you got even when you lose and of course... the soundtrack. Thank you for the update and while I am happy that our friend group can play together as long as one of us owns the expansion, rest assured that we will all definitely be buying it to support you for the great content and for letting our voices be heard. Good hunting out there survivors.

Void Items are so fucking smart! Like, that's the perfect way to give something extra on the side when it comes to commonly stacked items, and I feel like the crit glasses and fungi were the perfect ones to show for this. Time to build bungus on mercenary, gamers In all seriousness, love these items. I was worried for a split second the item pool would become bloated, but since it seems like a separate tier, it'll be fine. They haven't said a thing about the survivors (which is fair, that seems to be worked on later when it comes to updates. Better to add major systems first and get them rolling rather than trying to juggle balance/stability of new playstyles), and I'm anxious to see what comes up on that. Other than that, really curious as to what that new lore is going to be. (P.s. I am going to stack 200 Seer's glasses on loader asap)

I'm going to be honest, I never even knew that ROR2 had Dev Thoughts before this video format came out and I honestly never knew that we always get a sneak peek at future updates before releases. I honestly love the new video format for ROR2 devlogs because I usually only listen to devlogs in the background (Like GTTOD devlog and H3VR Devlogs) so this change from written to scripted videos are a very welcome change.

Great video, really love the straightforward, yet informative answers. It's always great to hear your thoughts on your decisions, like why you're choosing to release the PC version earlier. The void item's corruption mechanic could've have been made clearer. I assume that it works by corrupting all lenses retroactively and any further being picked up? Thus you're changing their effect to the Lost Seer's Lenses effect, like a sidegrade/upgrade. Love this though, keep up the great work.

Ohohoho, LOVE the way void items changeup existing builds- in some cases, whether to take a void item might be a tough choice, whereas in others it all depends on your preferred build or loadout... can't wait to see how they change the game and keep new runs fresh!
