If you Gambino fans actually watch the video you would know that Hopsin doesn't diss Gambino. The title of this video is misleading. Hopsin was commenting on how rappers need to make an image for themselves, like how Gambino's image is wearing Hawaiian shirts and flip-flops, hence the flip-flop rapper. Damn people are really stupid

Geriafrican Hot 97 stays looking for click bait...I've noticed them doing that a lot lately
@dleeharley849 жыл бұрын
Geriafrican Actually Ebro mentioned Childish Gambino's flip flops first. The title is very fraudulent. But a dope interview nonetheless.
@JanoyCresva9 жыл бұрын
Geriafrican Its called clickbait and most people fall for it every damn time.
@crisjrap9 жыл бұрын
Geriafrican Exactly, anyone who actually watches the whole interview will know the title is just a joke the hot 97 crew made with hopsin, not an actual diss from hopsin to gambino.
@lorvincent8 жыл бұрын
Hopsin never calls him a flip flop rapper; the interviewer does. Click-bait. Hopsin notes Childish Gambino's public image is very relaxed/mellow.
@FireLord2506RS7 жыл бұрын
Stupidly enough, they were referring to shoes, not the way raps. The title was clickbait lol

If a black dude doesn't portray street life and acting all hard and smiles,then other black people call him corny and for "white" people. Black people hold thier own selves back by ignorance,and this is a perfect example. Dude can spit,period
@JayLegacy1009 жыл бұрын
People are disliking for the wrong reasons here. Watch the whole video. I thought that he was maybe going to diss Gambino here too, and I'm a big Gambino fan, so I was skeptical, but I figured I'd watch the whole video to see what he is actually saying. He didn't say he was flip flop rapper as in Childish Gambino flip flops styles, or personality or something. He meant flip flop rapper in the sense where Gambino wears flip flops, so he said he's the flip flop rapper. Hopsin meant nothing wrong by it. I blame HOT 97 because of the title. People don't watch videos. They read the title, jump on one conclusion, and then thumbs down without even watching.
@FarFigSchitter9 жыл бұрын
JayLegacy100 to be fair, gambino has a few songs where "flip flop rapper" would be an acceptable title to him. not a diss either, i bet he would roll with it its a funny ass name

they was talking about how rappers need a style and hopsin was like "you can't just be a boring rapper," then he paused and said "well, there is childish gambino" then ebro came to gambino's defense and was like "gym shorts and flip flops IS his style" albeit it was one of those most passive disses I've seen, but a dis none-the-less calling someone boring.
@SlimNasty9 жыл бұрын
For the Gambino fans, Hopsin doesn't diss him. EBRO is the one who disses him. Hopsin says no disrespect. It's at the 22:30 mark. This title is misleading.

The reason why people hate on hopsin is because he actually constructs tracks that have a real message and tell a story and explain a situation. Too many big words and you actually have to listen to the lryics to feel the the full effect of his tracks... all hatin on him because he doesn't do that stupid mumble rap and go on about pussy cars and money every 4 bars like all the mainstream fukwits do Hop actually has real talent he is very skilled ant creating the music and the lyrics. solo independent artist thats climbing the rap ladder very quickly

"They want you to stay in the basement living off Top Ramen." -Hopsin This is so true. True fans of artist would want their art to reach as many people as possible. But for some reason some "fans" want artists to stay indie and not become too popular. All so they can feel as if they're in some sort of exclusive club for liking an artist. Lol, get over yourselves.

Very quick to judge, rapping with a message is corny? This Is why we got the shit that we got on the radio. Most of y'all got mislead by the title and were quick to dislike and comment without even watching.... It's a shame... Well y'all are missing out. There's no point in trying to preach in the comment section of a KZfaq video. Keep that shit Real Hop!
@Moecean9 жыл бұрын
Exactly. People dont know what there talking about in the comment section
@JFinuc9 жыл бұрын
rayado012 People hate him because he is corny af and lame. There are so many rappers rapping about the same shit he does in Fly but do it 10x better. Plus Hopsin's deep music is always so ridiculously on the surface. Not to mention Hopsin is also a hypocrite. One moment he's talking about how to help advance society and the next moment he's talking about murdering bitches. Don't tell me that's his otherside of his persona (which bites Eminem mad hard, as does Hopsin's style) because that's bullshit. You either go one way or the other. Not to mention that he disses rappers that are so much better than him such as Kanye West (4 classic albums), Lil Wayne (2 classic albums, and 3 classic mixtapes), Kendrick (2 classic albums), Drake, Tyler the Creator, etc.
@Da9ny9 жыл бұрын
Jack Finucane First off it's not so much off the "other persona" shit. It's a battle of good and evil and many rappers do that. Tech N9ne's been doing that forever so don't tell me he ripped off Em. Maybe there are rappers saying the same shit and they're time will come to shine I just don't understand how most of you fucks have a hard time recognizing talent. Or at least respecting it because Hop has it, i mean the dude produces, raps, makes beats, shit he's even an actor. I'm not trying to dick ride I'm just saying respect the dude, you don't have to like him. And the dissing well; this Gambino "Diss" doesn't even exist, he never dissed drake he even likes some of his music, We can agree that Wayne's been garbage for a while and he didn't diss tyler, he said he didn't like the path they were going (we're all entitled to our opinion, and I do enjoy some of Tyler's stuff but I wasn't hurt about it) The Kanye diss, he said "How fun was your Kanye Concert?" So wtf. Kendrick's diss said that he was short basically lmao and in this interview he recognized his talent. So to end this, basically y'all love to hate and are quick to jump on the bandwagon when someone calls him corny. Like I said before, if you don't like him why tf be on his interviews and shit, that's a clear sign of 1. You ain't got shit to do (Get a life) or 2. You're just a hater.

When you just watched 4 Gambino interviews and then see this in the thumbnail. HOT97 really got me with this, he didn't diss at all. I was going to be upset, two of my favorite rappers can't hate each other lol

Is that a question or a statement? If it's a statement, thanks for pointing out the obvious. If it's a questions, yes he is.

Question*
@JGtotheworld9 жыл бұрын
It was a statement as he's never 'blown' and has quit twice. I don't listen to him and I don't care for your comment of it being obvious. Cheers
@boomshakalaka72039 жыл бұрын
That's where you're wrong. He has "blown", the only reason you say that is most likely because he doesn't get much, if any, radio play. More people know who he is, regardless of talent, than those who don't know who he is. That's the definitely of "blown". He's a good rapper, but pretty corny to me. I wouldn't say I'm a fan, but he has some decent songs.
@JGtotheworld9 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you deleted that ass other comment. No he hasn't 'blown'. To blow means to go mainstream, he's not that guy and won't be. How can you possibly say more people know him than not????? How can you know that. Plus that's false. He's good in his own lane but if you check the majority of hip hop conversations his name is absent. People just don't know him. He's less recognisable than Tyler and ever Tyler isn't THAT big. Don't get fanboy on me because I'm not dissing him.

whats sad about the hip hop game is that the people that can do the real shit the best are the pioneers that are still in the game..but they do the new style to stay relevant to the current/trending market.. the new guys in the game first bring their style but then copy the veterans cuz theae are the right people to copy when theyve been the game for so long, so why not copy their formula.. Yes, copy their formula of relativity and longevity in the game but don't copy their style..theyre copying your style cuz they want ppl your age to listen.. just bring back the real lyricism. big up to lamar, cole, hopsin, tech9, even gambino is cool. im just done with trap and hood shit. it makes "minorities" look ignorant and stupid.

Top Rappers of the "New Golden Age" (Currently): 1-25 (so far) 1. Drake - Say what you want but Drake is currently KING. Since day 1 he's been on FIRE. Versatile, has transcended the genre, created lanes, popularized styles, CONSISTENCY, featured on EVERYONES track, extremely accomplished, hit song after hit song and his most anticipated album "Views From the 6" drops this year. The man is by far the #1 guy of this generation and one of the most vulnerable artists hip hop has ever seen. An absolute PHENOM. 2. Kendrick Lamar - With a classic album already under his belt in GKMC, and TPAB getting its acclaim, the sky is the limit for Mr. Lamar. He's always been one of the better lyricists now he's become one of the better all-around rap ARTISTS. The next 3 years will be very interesting... Kendrick is making his case for legendary status. 3. J. Cole - King Cole. THE CHOOSEN ONE. The man with probably the most potential on this list and who out the gate was projected to be Drake's number one competitor. Many believe he has fallen short of that but is slowly on the rise to finally claim his "rightful" spot at the thrown (see 2014 Forrest Hills Drive). Don't sleep on Young Simba... EVER. 4. Nicki Minaj - Regardless of how you FEEL, she's the most accomplished and DOMINANT female rapper of all time. Nicki has already established herself as an ICONIC figure in pop culture in only 6 years. She has a unique or annoying (depending on your taste) flow and is reminiscent of classic female rappers most noticeably Lil Kim & Foxxy. Not to mention the fucking BARBS!! lmao. She has capitalized on her aesthetic more than any female rap artists since Missy Elliot and Kim before her and Nicki is also a pop/rap, hit-making superstar. Like it, love it, or hate it, Nicki will likely be revered as a legend when its all said and done... 5. B.O.B - SURPRISE! Yes. Bobby Ray. Heralded for his individuality, lyricism and versatility early in on his rise. Come 2010, B.O.B made a sharp turn from underground bubbling act to pop/rap SENSATION. He has had his peeks and dives but is definitely deserving of a top 5 spot overall. He has had one of the biggest breakouts in hip hop history recently. IDC what rapper you are on this list you KNOW DAMN WELL you wish you could've wrote/had super hit collabs like "Airplanes" and "Nothin on You".. 6. Big Sean - SEAN DON. BOI! Yes, one of Detroit's finest. Coming off of his most impressive album thus far "Dark Sky's Paradise" and a few hit records in between his debut album and now, the future is looking damn bright for Sean. I think he is exactly where he needs to be currently. Only better things lie ahead for this dude. Quickly moving his way up the list. 7. A$AP Rocky - Would be top 3 if it weren't for the guys sitting there lol. Rocky is creative, charismatic, innovative and fresh. A fashion icon and with a classic mixtape in "Live.Love.ASAP", smash singles, and his last two albums being solid at the very least, this self proclaimed "pretty mothafucka" is on his way to superstardom and potentially legendary status. Might even be a triple threat... (see the movie "DOPE") 8. Macklemore - Despite how you might feel about him, the man hs had an amazingly impactful career so far. From the seemingly outta fuckin nowhere breakout hit "Thrift Shop" to a classic stadium anthem in "Can't Hold Us", to possibly the biggest, most beautiful and most important song of the decade in "Same Love", Macklemore accompanied by Ryan Lewis has set the not only hip hop but even the WORLD to blaze. Lets see what he has coming next... 9. Tyler the Creator - One of the most charismatic, genius, idiotic, silly, hilarious and entertaining acts of modern day hip hop. Set the world on fire with his debut and the introduction of OFWGKTA. A talented writer and visionary with major commercial success despite his less then stellar albums. Lots of potential in this man. 10. Wiz Khalifa - One of few artists in hip hop who easily found his niche early on and has been cruising to victory since. The man has been HOT since his coming out party in 2011 with 'Black and Yellow'. Since then highly anticipated mixtapes and #1 albums. Khalifa has collabed with just about every artists in the business hip hop or otherwise and has a slew of hits to show for it. While quite one dimensional musically, the incredible following/fan base (Taylor Gang) he has isn't rivaled by many artists and is racking in major tour numbers internationally. The question is what's this Pittsburg natives next move? 11. Meek Mill - Ole' YELLLLLIN ASS lol. Before jail time and Omeeka, Milly was STILL one of the hottest spitters and all around rap artists in the game and it seems like the same old same old for Meek debuting at number 1 for his new album. How long will Philly's best last in the hip hop relevancy?? 12. Wale - UNDERRATED?? Over appreciated? His newest project "The Album About Nothing" ft. Jerry Seinfeld, is one of the most unique albums this year... Maybe in hip hop history??? Time will tell where Wale stands in hip hop history but right now he seems to be in his comfort zone. 13. Childish Gambino - Multi talented is an understatement. The man can write, dance, sing, comedy stand-up, act, rap BUT is this Gambino has been on the hip hop grind for 5+ yrs with impressive mixtapes with is witty, funny, and entertaining lyricism. His impressive album, "Because of the Internet" was nominated last year at the Grammy's for 'Album of the Year' (lost). Can this 'jack of every trade' build on his new fame and prestige in hip hop? Or will he move onto other work and greener pastures? 14. Chance the Rapper - This is kid is the one to look out for... Unorthodox rhyming patterns, originality, flow, likability, uniqueness and intelligence. I doubt hip hop has ever seen something like him before... Don't be surprised when he's the most talked about rapper in the next 2-3 years. Major praise and acclaim from both his classic mixtape (that sounded like an album) "Acid Rap" and his new SOX group project/album, "SURF". This guy has legendary potential... 15. Future - Would be top 10 if he could truly be considered a rap artists. His impact is undeniable. 16. Big KRIT - Skill wise = top 4, quality & body of work = top 5, EVERYTHING else = honorable mention 17.(A) Logic (might be the biggest rapper in the world someday) (B) Schoolboy Q 18. YG 19. Joey BadA$$ (future legend) 20. Earl Sweatshirt 21. Migos 22. French Montana 23. Mac Miller 24. Vic Mensa - His potential rivals Chance's. Future top 10 rap artists guaranteed. 25. Iggy Azalea (smfh but it is what it is) ... HONORABLE MENTIONS/Future Top 25 : Isaiah Rashad, Action Bronson, Towkio Shawn, Young Thug, G-Eazy, Travi$ Scott, Daye Jack, KYLE, Noname Gypsy, The Underachievers, Mick Jenkins, King Los, Dej Loaf, Audi Push, King Mez, Raury, Bishop Nehru, Azelia Banks, BOOGIE, Dillion Cooper, Bas, Allan Kingdom, KR, FATHER, Tink, Vince Staples, Alex Wiley, D.R.A.M., GoldLink, Lil Dicky, Cassie Veggies, OverDoz, Flatbush Zombies, Cozz, Saba, Troy Ave, Lil Simz, ASAP Ferg etc
