Very few actually take on controversial topics such as politics.

You could however try to interpret his bars here and find a deeper meaning though: part of the opening verse for example: "A wise man told me the nigguhs that you beef with will probably​ be your best pals." This isn't poetry class but that bar could suggest something like "forgive and forget" or "come to terms with your enemies and work it out". From this perspective, that can be seen as knowledge.
