This is the procedure of how to change a ring or thread on a fishing rod. Each of the steps to follow to achieve a good result is shown here. The materials are as follows:

The ring to change on this rod is the large ring, the one that goes close to the reel, and as you can see, it is a two-legged ring. The first thing is to remove the damaged ring, very carefully, without damaging the material of the reed and this seems that filing the varnish is a good option, after removing the ring, it must be cleaned well by removing all remaining varnish and with sandpaper fine proceeds to clean all residue.
The reed ring thread is a special thread, and in some places it is difficult to find, so in the absence of this thread, any thread with good resistance is good, such as polyester for example.
Another element that is difficult for some to obtain is epoxy varnish and nail varnish is also good for this, it must be of good quality.
