The FAQ change to bonus attack dice has had an effect on this faction, in particular it killed one of my favorite plays, which is using "Me First" to charge in with my mounted champion and get 10 attack dice. And that hurts. But there are plenty of other great options, like charging in with a 10 or 12 pack of heavy weapon warriors and getting 4 bonus dice on top of that. And maybe "Rage" to really make things nasty.

Never considere Age of magic since I'm into historicly acccurate gaming. But I might give it a go. It would be fun to collect an army of some obscure miniatures since there's no "offical" look to any of the factions ;)

You can certainly give it a shot just by adding a few goodies like a wizard, giant, etc. to your existing historical force. Having an AoM ready force is always a good idea for potentially converting fantasy players to the cause!

My favorite thing was using me first with a chariot, post bonus dice faq now my favorite thing is to not run the horde and play a different faction instead

I mean, I haven't run the Horde with a chariot yet. I have a mostly foot warband for now, but I want to give a mostly mounted army a go at some point.

I assume you're referring to using "Me first" and potentially "rage" with the chariot? I don't think that losing that play makes the faction unplayable, as there are plenty of other units it could be used with.

@@Burzuj89 the horde to me was the faction that could best use solo units as a hammer, now their best hammer is warriors and hearthguard.

The bonus dice faq affected the horde far more than any other faction in age of magic even though they're clearly not the most powerful faction of the age.
