Thank you for putting this out there. For clarifying what the difference is between this movie and our present day movies. I'd rather go to a theater to watch a good story with meaning. It is true western classic. Not to be confused with minions. There is no comparison. Let's hope this saga gets the credits it so deserves!❤

If I was cynical, I'd say that there was a deliberate attempt to belittle this movie and sabotage the making of the complete series because the ego of someone couldn't stand the competition. I loved the movie. I thought it was epic. It will make sense when all 4 movies are made. I can't wait.

Dine-in theatre? Nice. I agree. Cinematography was excellent. They did a good job weaving together the multiple storylines.

Horizon is a great movie. Best movie I’ve seen in a long time. Totally engaged for 3 hours. Thanks for the review. People should definitely go see this so we get more movies like it.

10 years from now, this movie will be recognized for the epic masterwork that it is, much like Heavens Gate, or Reds, which were panned when they were released.

Today watched chapter 1 can't wait to see chapter 2!! All these negative critics....they dont know what they are talking about. This is a story that finally is telling both sides of the history and mr Costner did a great job telling it.

Your point about today’s audience needing to be spoon-fed is so right. I’m a Kevin Costner fan, and even I couldn’t get all the nuances, details, parallels & dialogues in my first seating. I was too busy waiting for Costner to show up. But when I watched it the 2nd time-OH MY GOD. It’s like I had my third eye opened. Did you notice that Costner opened the movie with Apache attacking the settlers; and then ending the movie with the settlers/whites obliterating an entire Indian village?

Just watched Horizon yesterday we all enjoyed it would highly recommend it ....looking back on American history good choice for the 4th of July. Can't wait for part 2, the critics don't like it, if u translate that the people will. Kevin put his money into the film why is that ? Hollywood would rather make a movie, without a story or any depth history etc. Hollywood produces mostly crap, this is not a boring movie extremely engaging nothing dull about this movie. Fantastic cinematography....

I loved this movie. The scenery of the Far West alone is worth watching. But, it demonstrates Kevin Costner’s storytelling skills, acting skills, and directing skills. I think critics who have attacked the movie are way, way off. This movie will be a classic.💖✨💫

Thank you. Hard not to give spoilers, I get it. The reviews are half half now. 11 million in opening weekend, now box office 2nd place. As is often the case with Kevin Costner films, it's a great but longer journey. Some people like bang bang, and let's chase the bad guy. Also okay, "Horizon" has different layers and angles, beautiful acting, beautiful film work, beautiful dialogues and realistic survival problems. A completely different package. Well worth taking another look.

I don't care what people think i love this film i love chapter 1 and cant wait for chapters 2, 3 and 4 i hate the reviews. I love it n gonna see the others n cant wait. Its alot like john ford not Sergio Leone n people now more familiar with spaghetti westerns not traditional westerns which this film is like. Critics just want revisionist westerns. Thanks Kevin Costner for making this 11 hour epic western saga film released in 4 chapters i cant wait. Im glad u feel the same its refreshing cuz of all the hate.

I saw it last night. Yes it’s 181 minutes but I didn’t feel the runtime, and I seriously think most modern films run too long with too much filler. James Gunn films always feel like a drag to me.

It was a beautiful movie. Sure, there was violence, but there was this type of violence in the old west. The cinematography was amazing. The music fit every scene, the actors played their roles so well that I believe they were those people. In fact, I thought all of the actors did a wonderful job. The movie did not seem three hours long to me. I plan to see all of the chapters and hope they all are released on the big screen! Kevin Costner even mentioned a chapter 5 possibility in a recent interview. Let’s hope they’re all successful.

It took me 5 mins in the theatre to see why the 'critics' gave it a much lower score than audience..it didn't depict the indians as holier than thou noble peoples.

That metric of every movie had to be a success completely right away, opening weekend, it seems like that just pushes every movie to try to big an easy “event” or blockbuster style movie and not something more challenging or different

I don’t think people today understand how the Indians saw people trying to settle on their hunting grounds as taking food out of their mouths. This is addressed in the movie, but it is not dwelled upon. Also, settlers establishing homes on hunting grounds pushed the Indians into conflict with other Indians as they had to hunt on other tribes’ hunting grounds. And, it’s not like the Indians said to themselves, “well, that’s okay, we will just take up farming”. I use the term “Indians” respectfully. I read somewhere the other day that an Indian was talking about how his grandfather hated the term “Native American”. Grandfather said, “they don’t get to call us Indians for 300 years and then change the name”. I think Grandfather made a fair point.
