I think this could’ve been a rebel camp, maybe the original plans for First Forge? A giant fortress, hard to get to, view of Barren Light, Chainscrape, and the Utaru. This seems like a rebel camp that Aloy would take down with Erend

The vibe of this place to me was always just somewhere to investigate, like they were only planning to leave some datapoints and maybe a chest or two. The geometry is wrong for a place you'd be expected to fight in, against humans or machines. Probably a scrapped Chainscrape errand.

Lots of people tried so hard to get into that area. Your the first one I've seen actually get in.

could definitely see that place full of human enemies (probably Oserams) and some small acquisition machines. maybe even a few Glinthawks. no doubt they had plans in this area

I think I saw a video of a combat scene there on youtube once, before the game came out. But I never managed too find it again.

I don't think it's "cut content", more that it's been abandoned in-game (canonical).

With all the cut content, and with the iffy writing in the expansion (I loved it, but the writing was not as good as Frozen Wilds at all), I really wonder how close we came to getting a fantastic game instead of a very, very good game. ;_;

Totally just turned on the game and looked yes like a dlc area. Would be cool
