I miss words. They have really done it. Guerrilla Games of all studios pulling off a story of this level. Can't wait for the sequel. It ended great in the first game.

JorRaptor What do you think, can Horizon 2 happen in 2019? The producer said they worked years on building the story, the world and the tribes, plus upgrading the Decima Engine. Script is done and first game took more than three years in full production because Guerrilla Games was still hiring lead quest designers. They are no longer on hiring spree. The team is used to program an open world after the first game.

JorRaptor I don't want to spoil anything for others but I have to say I got Fallout vibes by the narrative the further you progress in the main story instead of Far cry. But it makes sense, it's not Witcher and it's definitely not Far cry. The way how John Gonzalez wanted to tell a story he went with a mysterious vibe from Fallout. But it's doing its own thing.

The Tearblaster is so good against the Thunderjaw. Just Tearblast the disc launchers off of it and then use it against it lol.

I only use the tearblast arrow, because it is better than the Tearblaster rifle. The rifle takes up a whole equipment slot and can only shoot the one thing. The Shadow Sharpshot Bow has the strongest arrows in the game with Precision arrows and Tearblast arrows. You have 2 of the most powerful arrows in one equipment slot.

I got myself a PS4 this month, it came with 3 games (God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone) and I bought a 4th one (Uncharted 4) and I've been playing this one a LOT (loved so much the other ones too) it's incredibly adicting, last time this happen to me was like 5 years ago with Warframe.

Just so you know if you play this game on Ultra Hard difficultly I think all the shadow weapons in merchant's have 4 mod slots and so do the Lodge weapons and the special banuk bows in the Frozen Wilds and so do most armours, but they are all crazy expensive and it's very difficult to get the lodge weapons on Ultra Hard but it is doable (I know I'm seven months late but incase you didn't know about this now you do)

The handling stat doesn't affect damage, it allows you to reload faster and it shortens the time needed to fully pull a bow. Not sure if it does anything to the recoil though.

I just started playing this game and I didn't bother researching that stat. I just assumed it was related to accuracy. But now that I know it reduces the reload and bow-pull, that changes everything. Thanks for the tip!

That would be total bullcrap beceause there is no "recoil" in this game. Handling increases projectile trajectory, reload speed, and aiming time ("reload" meaning pull back speed.)

Sharp shot bow is my favorite. For example when fighting the t-rex (i forget the game name of it) you can knock off all of its ranged weapons or knock off huge important components that will deal very high damage at the same time. (Best with at least 2 arrows)

Oh yeah, for sure. That, right there, is why this list is off. All three of these items have their uses, but only one of them is about damage. And for that one, there are better weapons. The slings are fun, but you run out of ammo too fast to really make good use of them. And don't get me started on the Ropecaster; I have to spend shards just to keep enough wire- or spend an hour or more farming machines -to keep enough wire around for that thing. It's almost not worth having either the shadow or the Hunting Lodge version, as they both use 10 wire for six shots.

the war bow is very useful. I freeze machines then kill them in halve the time it takes without it. the shadow sling has no range and I can load 3 arrows in the bow and do far more elemental damage than the sling. the rope caster is useless to me though. different play styles I guess.

If you play on the PC these are NOT the best weapons in the game. The best weapons are actually from the DLC which you have included on PC with complete edition. These are best in the base game.

Probably because he wasn't a serial killer of all animals like you need to be in order to upgrade pouches. I ran into that problem too. Until I vowed all fish, rabbits, boars, turkeys, and foxes must perish.

@@TitoMcFadden i didn't upgrade my shit too until i was forced in to a fight against behemoth. Had about 20 firearrows, 5 ropecaster and just standard arrows. Ran out of potions, traps and medical herbs in the previous quest. Lol Took me 6 hours to beat the thing. After that i always upgraded my shit. Lesson learnt the hard way.😂😂😂

You got the information on the Blast sling wrong, Proximity is the weakest and Sticky is the strongest. Proximity is 75 damage and Sticking is 150 with Normal at 100

I was really disappointed when I finally got my lodge weapons... You work so hard for just slightly better versions of the shadow weapons. I also think it's a shame what arrow types the war bow has. When I'm in a fight, I'm prepped with either the hunter bow or the sharpshooter bow because they do more damage and have the more useful arrow types, in my opinion. When I need to use elemental damage, I usually use the sling or tripshot. But I'm also one of those stylistic rpg players, so naturally, a part of me hates that I'm never using the coolest looking bow in the game.

pARx but the sling and trip shot suck against flying foes ( sling due to slow projectile speed and trip caster due to it just being absolutely useless against flying foes) that is the niche of the war bow freeze damage against the stormbird. It’s a small niche but since storm birds have good loot it is a rewarding one.

The purple weapons you can buy in New Game+ includes an additional modding slot. Which is more handy and better then the lodge weapons. However the lodge weapons look more badass

I know I know, I'm very very late but the tear blaster is not a lodge weapon is given to you in a side quest in the lodge but have nothing to do with the hunting grounds,I am 42 years old and I never buy a game at launched in fact when you wait a little and keep in mind this game is only 1 year old so its a baby,well long story short in the PS store you can buy the complete edition that comes with all costumes themes well all that the digital deluxe version have,and the frozen wilds dlc at a price point of $19:99,a hell of a deal and as I said I'm 42 my first console was an Atari 2600, and I think with my experience that pre order games,or buy day one are huge mistakes,well sorry for my English and I am enjoying the hell out of it,thank for the vids they are really helpful

I killed a thunder jaw with a common outfit. The best way to kill one is to stand on top of a tall rock and just use slingshot and remove its laser cannons. But why the hard way!

this game is great, i love the weapon System and the fights are epic. the graphics are eye candy and each place is unique, there is no building used twice... Its amazing and addictive, i seriously played 12 hours yesterday just to finish 50% of the game. In total with all quests you barely get under 30 hours i assume

Well, the lootcrate mission in the jungle trial got patched to death. There are only two crates on the ground now, you have to shoot the last two off from shellwalkers. Every enemy will attack you then, and you simply can't do it in time for getting all suns.

Got it free on PS, getting bored, the battles are doable but extremely tedious. I just feel extremely underpowered. Takes forever to defeat these arrow sponges. Dont understand the purple weapons, they show the same damage numbers as the green weapons. Find myself just avoiding enemies to try to progress the story and hope the combat gets more fun at some point

I figured out some new moves, now I'm a bad ass. It's all about elemental effects and weak points. I got the shadow war bow with some purple mods and I'm shredding bots and having a lot of fun doing it. Freeze status effect is a huge damage amplifier, game changing

Im doing these lodge trials now. Took me like 2 straight hours to get all blazing suns just at the Nora Grounds. I'm sure it isn't gonna get easier either. Maybe playing on Very Hard isn't wise for these trials? Either way, they are super easy to complete but difficult to master.

I might overdone with the looting and wandering around :D I am level 20 and haven't used any other weapons besides the basic bow with fire and basic arrows :D

might wanna add that the lodge war bow is the best war bow you can get that doesn't include dlc. otherwise the best war bow isnt the lodge one it's the banuk one from the frozen wilds. side note: best hunter and sharpshooter bow are also the banuk ones from the frozen wilds dlc.

The first time I played this I tried a lodge and sucked. Then I put them off and became much better at the game. Should probably go back and try again. These weapons make them seem worthwhile.

Beat NG+UH without the special armor. It's easy, to be honest. Died five times and it only happened because I was careless and cocky. Also, without the Lodge's weapons nor any DLC items.

I am new to this game. It is addictive and bery original in its combat mechanics. And it needs to stop looking georgeous so i can notice machines sneaking up on me easier. And wow i have absolutely no clue how to use weak spots effectively. Sawteeth and those dragonlike flame spitting monsters are tough.... hacked my first longneck recently and feel like i am leveling up too fast but have too weak arms and armor.

Hey there, enjoy watching all your HZD content. I noticed you had both health potions large & small next to each other, can you arrange which goes where? As it`s so annoying wasting time flicking through during battles, thank you! I completed all hunting trials early in the game on hardest setting on my 2nd play thru, it tested me to my max & rage quit many times before achieving blazing suns all round. Been addicted to games since Atari days & HZD is hands down best game ever!! I salute u sir :-D

Got them all but they are identical with the shadow variants that you can just simply buy. Only difference is that they have some gold on them and thats it.

Dark Cloud666 the lodge blast sling and ropecaster have better handling than the shadow versions. that's the only thing I noticed as an upgrade.

You got confused with the War Bow and the Shadow Hunter Bow. War bows are focused on elemental damage while Hunter bows deal raw damage and fire damage.

I don’t use tear blast arrows because it’s damage is 100 and I have many modifications of tear so I add it on my shadow cargo bow and get 200 damage of tear

I have the shadow versions- all maxed out including tripcaster shadow, i mean sure the lodge weapons are powerfull (only have 3 mod slots) while i have most of my weapons with an extra slot added to them even on ultra hard diff i dont have any trouble using my maxed out weapons

I played horizon for a ling time. I got the Best armor and all of the loge and shadow weapons. The thing is i upgraded all my shadow weapons so only the loge bow brings 5 more damage points.

Kevin Dotson actually the 2nd best weapons can be bought from the merchants and the strongest weapons can be acquired after the "hunting for the lodge" side quest in Meridian. So I suggest you buy the purple items once you see it in the merchants. The best armor though which is the shield-weaver, you cant get it not until the 3rd to the last main quest, so just buy the purple armor in the merchants too.

The idea that these are the best weapons in the game is both relative and only partially true. They are the best blast sling and ropecaster, but there's a better war bow available in the dlc. It's relative to your playstyle, as there are a number of weapons that actually do more damage with the right mods than any of these. Admittedly, if you don't have the dlc, these are the best of those types of weapons. they're even better than the adept versions despite those having more mod slots. I mostly use the dlc Hunter, War, and Sharpshot equivalents, as they do the most damage. Again, relative to playstyle; some of the best strategies involve using the Tripcaster, and the Adept is the best of those. It's NG+ locked, but it's still the best.

I don't like the lodge challenges at all, and I don't think of these weapons as the best in the game. The weapon that made me F-ing unstoppable was the Icerail. Specifically, the ice cannon setting of the Icerail. Why? Because it's an ICE RAILGUN. It's a load of shards and ice compressed into a heavy spike, which then fires into and tears apart your target. Upgrade it enough, and even targets who have ice defense will take significant damage. Now, granted, you need to go into the Frozen Wilds to get this weapon by completing enough of the story, and THEN you need to invest in the time to improve it in order to make it into the cannon. But THAT is worth it. No timed and graded challenges, just difficult fights and a search for the right parts. (You need to hunt Frostclaws, for one.) The Icerail, though, has served me well. Thunderjaws, disc launchers gone in seconds with lots of damage per hit. Stormbirds, hit hard enough to disrupt energy salvos and drop them to the ground. Frostclaws...less damage, but still appreciable. Snapmaws, Behemoths, Tramplers - down and out. Rock Breakers, sniped. Shell-Walkers, cracked. Bellowbacks, brought down easily. Sawtooths, Ravagers, Scorchers - they are no match. And of course, the ACTUAL war machines of the game suffer greatly at its power. And the Fireclaw...oh baby... THE Fireclaw, the one that everybody knows to hate and dread, because the ones that follow after are in open areas where you can get them easier... That guy with that Icerail and that Shadow Weave...much better. That battle is HARD, but the cannon makes it so much better. The Icerail cannon attack requires only the great effort it took to make it, and then all you need is shards for the ammunition. Yes, shards, literally the one thing that you should have LOTS AND LOTS OF, by now. The very nature of using what is effectively your money to fight may seem like it's expensive, maybe even too much like a useless Final Fantasy skill, but it's not...for two reasons. One, it is NOT that expensive and recupable easily by selling robot parts you don't need. And second, it does more damage than any coin toss attack, especially if you up its ice and tearing and base damage. You have to charge the thing before it'll fire too, but if you've been playing this long, you'll manage. It'll be worth it.
