Excellent demonstration on how to properly adjust and use this tool. I have used this tool but now I think you fully taught me the correct way to use it. Big thanks.

I bought it and it works great, you can actually set it up by feeling the mouth of the case hitting the bottom of the collet too. There is not any damage to the bullet whatsoever and I pulled different types of heads, doing a ladder test for seating depth or powder charge makes this tool a must have!! No more hammer for me…..

Being new to reloading I'm making a lot of mistakes. After using some long nosed vice grips to pull the bullets, I figured there had to be a better way. I followed the instructions in this video and with a little adjusting got the bullet puller to work flawlessly. If you are marring (grabbing) the case instead of grabbing the bullet, try backing off the top adjustment. I am now pulling bullets from error cartridges without destroying them. Thanks Hornady!!

Great product once you have sorted it out, used it on 25-06 and 222 worked flawlessly and projectiles were not marked at all

I’ve been trying for a day to get this to work on 300 blackout. I follow the instructions to a T and the cam grabs the brass, not the bullet and will not work. Any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. I've got it to work before, but I'm not sure what is going on now.

Or the other end of the “why pull the bullets: scale. Yesterday, I found out my scale was way off and wasn’t sure if the powder in the 50 cartridges I loaded last week were effected. Why take a chance. I pulled all 50 with this bullet puller with no problems.

My RCBS bullet puller arrived today. I have thirty 45- cal ACP rounds to pull. I didn't put enough Titegroup powder in them - they won't cycle my PPQ 45 pistol. 4.4 grains of Titegroup wasn't enough. 4.8 gr of Titegroup cycles the pistol.

Here’s the thing. The cam lock die doesn’t have enuf thread for it to sit high enough so the ram can go all the way up, it probably work better on shorter cartridges. So a lot of guys are saying it kept on gripping on the case than the projectile becuz when the ram goes all the way up the case enters the collet. The a dumb but easy solution to fix the frustration: sit your cam lock die all the way into the bushing so the bottom is flush with the bushing, now from underneath you can see the bloody collet open and close when you work ur cam lever. Visually determin when the bullet is sitting into the collet deep enuf, hold onto ur ram handle and now pull the cam lever from 45 deg angle down to flat so collet closes and grips the projectile. Lower the ram handle and work is done. This is better than guessing what a longer cartridge is doing inside the die and then it grips onto the case. Very frustrating.

great tutorial... thank you

This thing is tricky to use, but I found the trick is NOT to "cam over". Just pull it over enough to grab the bullet. And on .308, which is what I was doing, everything has to be opened up all the way. The die seems to be short for longer cartridges. It is pretty counter intuitive to what we are used to, but at the end of the day, it is better than the hammer.

iam having problems pulling 7.92x33 iam using 8mm but it keeps slipping off the bullet .ive tried the hammer puller and it fails to drive the bullet off? these are my reload mistakes not military or factory
@wr3921 Жыл бұрын
Watched several times to make sure I was setting this puller die up correctly and still wrecked several kind of rare 6mm ARC cases trying to troubleshoot this thing. Not often I say this about Hornady reloading equipment, but this thing is junk, at least on smaller cases, back to the hammer.

I can't for the life of me get a hold of the cam lock die body. Does anybody have the part number for it. This search is driving me nuts

The 45 ACP collet broke the second time I used it. Really thin on material, my 5 other calibers work great.
@Tillerman44 жыл бұрын
Just broke mine today. Hornady advised they would send me a replacement ONLY after (Cust Serv) advising me this is for rifle cartridges only and NOT pistol cartridges. Their propietary video NOR the instructions that came with the product mentioned anything of the sorts. In fact, I can not find anyone alse who can verify this info. Just passing this on. I will continue to pull all my cartridges as needed. Just being more careful with the thinner collets. UPDATE; After the .45 collet "chipped" down to an even level, I was able to make it function. I was inerting some WW 1 (I think) FN Berdan primed cartridges that were FTF. This is for safe disposal and to reclaim the 230grn Ball Rd. I really had to visually inspect the depth the round was going, to obtain a proper grip. Completed 200 rounds. Quicker than the hammer method. Still a pain....but works.

Try Midsouth Shooters supply or Midway USA. Both are web base distributors and have most of the collets.

This thing is a PITA. I get the edge of the brass more than the bullet itself and I followed the directions to a tee.
@jimsheely45275 жыл бұрын
Try it using 50 grain 22 bullets or 204 bullets. I cannot get the collet to release the bullet. PITA>

Hornady, you might as well stop making these videos. When you tried to force the shot on your employe’s as a condition of employment you lost a lot of customers. I won’t buy anything else from you.
@victorrodriguez28062 жыл бұрын
Oh! Hornaday didn't get the word. We're not buying any more of your products after you lied and tryed to manipulate your own employees. There are plenty of other companies that make what you make. So once again( listen up this time )..... Good By!!

Please elaborate? I'm wavering between this & the RCBS equivalent

@@MrSaerrock Mr. Hornaday CEO, tried to force through intimidation, all of the companies employees to be vaccinated. A single or a team of employees leaked the intimidation letter to the public media. Then Mr. Hornaday tried to use other employees to report those who had leaked the enternal email. A secound letter was released by employees. Mr. Hornaday then backed off, through a third email tried to smooth it all over by claiming a misunderstanding. The owner/CEO, Mr. Hornaday has shown his true colors and personality through these actions. I have chosen to never buy a Hornaday product ever again.
