Do you ever use the oring fine adjustment on the end of the cutter mandrel? The two knurled pieces.

how do you know what pilot to use?
@ctu70703 жыл бұрын
The pilots are numbered on their faces 1, 3, 6, 7, 9, 15, 19 and correlate to common popular caliber sizes of .223, 6mm/.243, .270, 7mm, .30, .38, and 45. The one issue I have with the number is the only way to distinguish between the #6 & #9 is to compare them side by side or to measure with a caliper. I really wish they would have numbered them with a line under the 6 & 9 for easy reference. If you're needing to trim a different caliber than these you can purchase separate pilots to fit your needs. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Do you have to use hornady shell holders?
@ctu70702 жыл бұрын
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on your question, but I obviously have the Hornady shell holders. However, I do have a few Lee shell holders that I received in a purchase of reloading equipment from a friend, but haven't needed to use them. I got them out today and tried them, they do fit, but the hole in the center is the same size on the bottom but tapers down to a smaller sized hole. This causes them to not allow the pin to travel through the hole to lock the case into the shell holder. I don't see why you couldn't make the hole bigger to allow the shell holder to slide over the pin so it will lock the case in the holder.

Short answer is yes

Thank you sir for whatever reason I couldn’t figure out how to install the shell holder, yes I’ll admit I was a idiot in the moment. Just got done trimming 100 pieces of 264 win mag and must say it was super consistent, got mine as new old stock and am happy I did.
