We visit the actual location of the battle of the Horns of Hattin (Hittin), where Crusaders fought the armies of Saladin, and we attend the annual re-enactment by the group "Jerusalem Kingdom" that includes marching, horse riding, and fighting.
We also interview Dr. Rafael Lewis who shares his findings of this fascinating site and explains how this location was also believed to be the true Mt Beatitudes before the 20th century.
If you are interested in attending the reenactment event or learn more about it, you may find more information in the links below:

Season 2, Episode 6.

It's awesome to get to see shows like this! My husband and I use to talk of seeing Israel together one day but we knew that we would have to wait until we came back with Jesus to see it. My husband of 23 years was killed on May 2, 2019. I dream now of the day we do get to see it together! ( and we will!!)

Thanks for the video. Good to see what's going on at this site. Twice I have tried to get up to the horns but it did not work out. In 2013 my son and I were hiking/traveling Israel and took the bus from Jerusalem to Tiberius and had the driver drop us off just past Lavi. We were going to stay in Arbel so started walking and meant to go over the Horns but ended up east of them. There really were no signs that said where to go. In 2017 I was solo and drove through Lavi and parked my car I think at the dairy you had the at "incident" with the cow. I was going to hike up but a thunder storm was threatening and the road was already very muddy so I did not what to get stuck on foot in the rain on a muddy path so I turned around. I did get some good pictures. Next trip I hope to make it to the top of the horns. The history of this location is so overlooked. Glad to see there is a small contingent of reenactors. BTW, Kingdom of Heaven is one of our favorite all time Ridley Scott movies. :-)

Hi Sergio and Rhoda, it's me. Yes, the Crusaders left Jerusalem without water and the Muslims had never been able to defeat them before. But many of them didn't know God's Word as you know, the church didn't let them know. You're video is so well done! I knew that the horns are the place where the winds come down upon the Sea of Galilee and make huge waves like in the Scriptures but I didn't know about the Sermon on the Mount being there. Thank you guys again for an awesome your and lesson. Love you both so much. 🦁✝️🐑💖🙏

11 years ago I was a Protestant who never wanted to be Catholic on March 19th 2007 I was Slain by the Relic of the Cross 9 years later I saw the piece of the relic the size of a pepper flake. I had 2 visions one was wool and snow and the other was like seeing rolling hills and off in a distance water with shimmery sun on the water and I feel that the Cross is buried there because in that vision I saw the Wooden Cross.

Great video! However, I must say, dear brothers and sisters, that I express a little bit of skepticism of that site being the Mount of Beatitudes. The other site, the traditional site, has an old Romano-Byzantine Church that was built in the 4th century and used until the 7th century. Do you know if there are ruins of old churches on or near the Horns? Also, if it was a place of pilgrimage before the modern era, you would think all the indigenous Christian denominations of the land would've known about it and celebrated their liturgies there. That's how pilgrims, Christians not from the land, have traditionally come to know about the holy sites: they ask the indigenous Christians - in modern times, mostly Palestinians - who preserve memories that have been handed down for centuries, including the Holy Sepulchre, the Church of the Nativity, etc. My skepticism, of course, comes from the fact that when Protestants first came to the land, they expressed a healthy but sectarian suspicion of the holy sites and the rites and rituals happening there that were celebrated by the indigenous Catholic and Orthodox Christians. That's how you have the whole Garden Tomb vs. Sepulchre debate. All I can find online about identifying the Horns of Hattim with the Mount of Beatitudes are European scholars/pilgrims from the late 1800s who think it's the spot, but who do not give any real reason why. I must admit that my skepticism also comes from the State of Israel's Ministry of Tourism. After the Six Day War, when they opened Yardenit, it was very far away from the traditionally accepted location of Jesus' Baptism, and to this day, it remains a popular spot for many Christians, but it never historically was a pilgrimage site, nor a baptismal site. And yet, the Ministry of Tourism and the State profited off of it being advertised as such. Now, I think they do make mention at the Yardenit tours of the southern site at Qasr al-Yahud, but how many pilgrims go to Yardenit versus how many pilgrims go to Qasr al-Yahud? In the end, none of this matters so long as Christ is glorified and adored in all places across the land, but I am sometimes very sensitive of manipulation of the traditional pilgrimage spots and the integrity of pilgrimage as it was practiced for centuries, damaged as it already is by the politics of that region. For example, it is a fact that most Christians pilgrims, when they use an Israeli tourist service, spend very little time in the Palestinian Territories, and many of them do not see or even know about some sites that, perhaps, their own forefathers saw when they visited centuries ago. Although this has nothing to do with the Palestinian Territories, I am still similarly cautious proclaiming the Horns as a pilgrimage spot or even an older pilgrimage spot without more information. Anyways, my brother and sister, if you've taken the time to read this, I thank you, and as always, I wish you peace.

Hi again, Sergio and Rhoda! If you can, perhaps you could answer a question for me. I was at the Horns of Hattin last year, and looking at it now on Google earth, to the south west between the Horns and Hwy 77, there appears to be the remnants of a large ancient settlement which has not been excavated. Do you have any info on it? Thanks!

According to John Julius Norwich the Jews were on the side of the Saracens (Arabs and Levantine forces) during Crusader times often acting as scouts and spies for their armies. This may account for the massacre of the Jews at Jerusalem in 1099 by the First Crusade.
