Yea, that genuinely made me incredibly sad for him. To have that happen repeatedly on such a large platform, my goodness. I don't really know all that much about any of these characters, but I get this vibe that he has outgrown that friend group and was only sticking it out because he still had love for them. They all seem extremely immature (much moreso than just in a playful and silly way), and he seems introspective and like he's in a growth period of his life. I think they're trying to tear him down not just for fodder, but perhaps because they actually resent his growth in the face of their own mental stagnation. Could just be me projecting some of my own experiences, but that's what it felt like.

Yeah, it gave HS flashbacks. I remember there was always that one guy in friend groups that would basically just be the group's piñata and that felt so much like that. It's unfortunate to think that this type of behavior is very much still alive and well in the adult world. Bobby Lee is approaching senior status and acts like an 18 year old frat boy stuck in a significantly older body.

So back then, some people would paint themselves as a very pasty white as a way to differentiate themselves from the poor/working class. So to answer your question, i believe the person is using it as a way to jokingly say "he's rich, so he wouldnt know"

The difference between George and, say, Roch Evans, is that despite the ribbing and the mockery, they do respect his opinion and let him speak. He's not just a clear full-time member of RLM, their relationship is clearly very good. Ribbing on a friend and bullying someone in your group are very different things.

Trash Taste is probably my favourite example of a podcast having 3 hosts and managing to not alienate any of them at any point, I reckon the reason for this is mainly that they cycle through Connor, Garnt and Joey with who is the primary host and the fact that they're all genuinely good friends off camera who don't do the exact same types of content.

I feel bad for that George dude being used as the punching bag in general, though I think Mike regretted upsetting George for real considering his reaction after he walked off. @@cnsmooth No problem. Essentially they were doing a podcast in front of a pretty big crowd with Shaq. I think George was still relatively new so obviously he was nervous like anyone would be and because of that he didn’t speak for a significant amount of time. Shaq noticed and turned to him saying “are you going to ask me a question” which put George on the spot and he tried his best to come up with something but it just ended being a joke about Shaq’s height which fell flat. Later on after George went quiet again, Shaq turned to George and literally just shouted at him “wtf are you doing here” which got the whole room laughing at him including Mike and Logan who made no effort to help him out. George then made some vague excuse about his headphones making it difficult for him to hear the conversation or something all with Shaq just continually jabbing away at him. I’m sure that it was weird to be on a 3 person podcast where 1 host is dead silent for half an hour is kinda weird so the first part is kind of excusable, but the way he went after him the second time in my opinion was just outright cruel. He saw that someone was nervous and went on the attack instead of just leaving them be. Maybe I’m making a big deal out of something small though who knows

This is Bobby's schtick, he's a button pusher who crosses the line in a lot of situations. I personally think it makes for funny content, but it sometimes gets weird. He's not always fit for certain contexts, but he does really well in the formats that he's created for himself. Is the dude weird? Yes, that comes along with the territory for a guy who's lived a traumatized life and uses dark comedy to cope with it.

@@recreatio 16:16 would be where Bobby is crossing the line. He can do this in an effort to get laughs, via dark humor that really pushes people's boundaries of what is an isn't acceptable. Getting a laugh out of the room is what he's trying to do as a means of coping with his trauma. This is one of those situations where I don't bother defending it because it's weird. I'm just explaining why he finds himself in these situations.
