Going 115 miles per hour, Benjamin Klinger's car slammed into a highway guardrail in Pennsylvania. His girlfriend Samantha Heller was in the passenger seat. Yup, my ex straight up told me that she was going to wreck the car while calling the police and say I was hitting her while driving and then cause the accident. So even if I survived my life would be over. The psychological damage I endured during my time with her is incalculable. But the absolute worst part.. is in a truly self destructive and wholly shameful way I still love and miss her. Life sucks lol

@virginiaviola5097

A word of advice from experience: an abuser will promise the sun and the moon, they will also make threats of harm. They will never follow through with those promises, but they will always follow through with those threats. Take those threats seriously, know that that is the real them, and everything else is a lie, leave, and don’t ever go back. Never. Not once. Not ever. Don’t give them that opportunity to follow through on those threats. My heart breaks for that poor Mumma. Nobody gives you a handbook, navigating through those teen years is tricky, especially when there’s a boy involved.. you just have to do your best, and hope for the best. I’m so very, very sorry that every mother’s worst nightmare became a reality. And kudos to the detectives for taking this case so seriously. That person should never be out in the community again. People like him don’t change, that other young lady dodged a bullet.

My daughter went through a very similar experience but we were lucky and got her away from him after he kidnapped her and held her hostage at his mothers house. He tortured her, raped her , burnt her everywhere with a cigarette and lighter and the list goes on. All this happened while his mother was in the same house knowing what was going on in his bedroom. We looked for her for days , his mother telling us she wasn’t there when we were out looking for her. Once we threatened the mother with police being called he finally let her go. But that wasn’t the end, he stalked her , threatened her and us. An AVO was useless , he broke it so many times and was never locked up for it. We ended up having to relocate her to another state for her to feel safe. He went to jail for the kidnapping charge but was only sentenced to 3 months jail because my daughter was too scared to press further charges of the assaults she endured over a 18 month period. DV is rampant in Australia because the perpetrators know they wont do jail time.

Guys as well, I have been manipulated by a girl who was dating a guy in the group, he got the worst of it. Another guy got manipulated into helping her cheat on the guy she was dating, and he was the second guy she cheated with. We weren’t able to even talk to each other without fear that the manipulator could be checking over what we said. And the last victim of the manipulator, another female, ended up bullying the guy the manipulator manipulated into cheating. He thought she was doing no wrong. The few other people who was semi-close to the manipulator, immediately started demanding an apology or for the bullying to stop, they didn’t & we’ve kicked them out of the group, but seriously the guys got the most shit from it. I have lived in places where I have had to practice learning red flags since I was extremely young, and I didn’t see the signs properly. It happens, but luckily we all talked about it when we finally got space enough to talk all about it. We may not be able to get away from the ‘copycat’ of the manipulator that targeted the male friend, and they are invading things that they have agreed to do, but some of my newer friends are still with the ‘copycat’ and we are going to prove that they are being manipulative (hopefully).

*** READ THIS: I went to high school with this weirdo and they were dating during the time! He was the kind of kid that made jokes that no one thought was funny, and he talked too much. Sam Heller seemed like a nice girl, she seemed shy unless she was around her friends. Then she would act pretty goofy (in a non annoying or disruptive type of way it was cool). I had a study hall class with her. Ben Klinger was a pill head. Some of us would go over to the park right by LMH (Lancaster Mennonite HS) and sometimes he would just drive over by himself and try to include himself with the "cool kids" (a lot of people usually went over to the park after school). One day, when he was there, my 2 friends and I snuck in to his car and stole his Adderall. He would sell my friends and many other kids his Adderall because he was prescribed to it. Sometimes he would just hand them out for free to make friends. He was the type of person that cared about what everyone thought of him and always wanted to be included. He would make fun of other kids just to act "cool" even though no one thought it was humorous. It was more like, "Why is this dude here who invited him?" That was his type of personality. There was a time towards the very end of senior year (I was a grade above him) where Sam almost kinda stopped interacting with people it seemed like. I didn't really see her around as much as I did before. LMH was a small private school so it wasn't like there were a lot of faces around campus. We had chapel meeting before school some days where the entire school would sit and she usually sat with the same friends in the same spot. One of my best friends from high school was friends with her and they would be talking many times on the way to class because they had a class next to each other, so that's kinda how I know this stuff. Anyways, that Ben Klinger kid can't be trusted for shit and I guarantee he'll do the same to someone else, one day, if or when he gets out of prison. RIP Sam and condolences to her family for their loss.

The fact that she was screaming get off of me tells it all. That’s why you should stay away from people who show you they don’t care about you at all. As soon as he saw a opportunity to take her life he took it which is completely disturbing because it shows who he really is and what he’s capable of. He didn’t care about the other woman. He wanted to end his life and hers too but once they lived he took hers then went to the other girl, who he probably emotionally destroyed. He’s obviously a monster in plain sight.

@Christina Sornbutnark, that is so true. My dad beat my mom daily. He would stay out late and come home drunk, any little thing would set him off. I was 11 when she left him. I was the youngest of 4 at the time. She got married again and had my little sister 6 days after my 12th birthday. My soon to be my ex husband and I got married when I was 21 and he was 23. I told him from day 1 if he ever hit me that I’d be gone. He never hit me, he’s an alcoholic, wasn’t one when we got married. After being married for 35 years I finally left. I couldn’t handle who he turned into when he was drunk. This is my first time living alone. We have two daughters and he was amazing. After I had each one, he would get up when they woke up, told me to stay in bed and stay warm, I breastfeed both girls. I can honestly say that had he not started drinking, we would still be together. So, I watched it happen to my mom and said that would never happen to me. I did talk to my girls about it and I treat their husbands like my own son’s. I’m very proud of how they treat my girls. After my divorce is finalized, I will never date again. It’s been so long since my first date with my husband and I feel like I wouldn’t know who to trust. God bless the teenager girls that are starting the dating phase of their lives and keep them safe. ❤️

I went through something similar, this is what we did. Get family counseling & counseling for her independently with a counselor that specializes in abusive relationships & trauma bonding (likely the reason she keeps going back to him). If possible, move the whole family away or send her to relatives out of the area, a college in another state opposite side of country or even a inpatient mental health treatment facility to get couseling & recover from the abuse & take time for her to reset her mind & heal. Change all phone numbers & and emails. Go dark on social media accounts or delete them, even sites like LinkedIn, its too easy for him to access friends list, then cross reference friends' posts to find out where she is or follow you home from work. If you work for a company that has emoloyee profiles online, request they be removed for safety reasons. If she's working she needs to quit & find another job so he can't find her there to weasel is way back into her life. Forward all mail to a POB. Do not give out the new physical address to anyone; not even utility companies, banks, DMV, employers, old neighbors, etc. so the address doesn't end up listed online where he can find it. Anyone who gets the new phone or emails make sure they know exactly what is happening so they protect the information & don't fall for any sob story or threats he may make to make to get contact with her. Having to tell friends family emoloyers neighbors & it's a bit embarrassing to do but it has to be done. The more people that know the more people will keep eye out for anything suspicious & protect her. Also, changing vehicles it makes it harder for him to follow anyone in the family to keep tabs on her. Harder it is for him to find her, the more likely he will give up trying to find her. There's also several companies that continuously remove online data about you that was very convenient; it's been years & we still use that service. Also, enroll her in self-defense classes. Those classes will uplift her confidence that she can protect herself & teach her better awareness of her surroundings. You could even go with her activities together will enforce your bond with her & keep her mind & and body occupied so she isn't dwelling on the toxic relationship. Hopefully, that helps you & your daughter. I wish you the best, it's a long, arduous journey.

The bystanders after the intentional crash heard her screaming “GET OFF ME” and didn’t think to tell the 911 dispatcher?! They didn’t say anything and they didn’t do anything to help her. That’s shocking. The dispatcher didn’t say to her her because he didn’t know she needed help!! I hope this tragedy will stay in our minds for the rest of our lives so that if we’re confronted with something like this we’ll all take it seriously and say something AND do something to help someone in need. I’d rather become a victim of the perpetrator than to live the rest of my life knowing that I did nothing to help a person who was being harmed. None of them even thought to tell the dispatchers what they were seeing and hearing? At the very least, say something!!

It is shocking how some people feel detached, like it's not there job or problem. I say they were cowards, it only would of taken one person to run over and help her.

Why didn’t they mention anything to the dispatcher? When did they first mention incriminating details? Why is the ‘detail’ that he was sitting on her head suffocating her not mentioned by the prosecution now? Was the “asphyxiation” due to internal injuries & only mentioned to make him look more guilty? I need more answers. These channels are very state, prosecution & police supporting…

To all the ladies, and especially the young ones: this is coming from a guy. A guy who loves you will not hurt you, both physically, and mentally, and also control your life. A guy who loves you trusts you to make the wise decisions and encourages you to have a life with your friends, while you are her mate for life at the same time. The only time a guy should touch you ladies is to kiss you, just because we love you. To hug you to feel your compassion and embrace and love. Okay.........and for intimacy if you know what I mean. Please do not think you are, "the one who can tame the beast". Every wild beast shows restraint at first, but even in a cage, his instincts will become evident over time. Even a caged tiger at the circus turns on their owner over time....... If a guy truly loves you, he will change eventually. If you do not see change, it doesn't mean you are the problem: it means you are not the one he wants to change for the better for.

Most likely is the "bystander effect." Bystander effect is a real psychological aspect of human behavior and it happens more often than you would think. A lot of psychological perceptions, decisions, and behaviour takes place in an instance. Factors such as the bystander’s emotional state, the nature of the emergency, and the presence of others can influence his or her ability to realize that something is wrong and that assistance is required. Sometimes their thoughts leads them to believe that if someone is already helping then they might not be needed because they might interfere, or the opposite, that if no one is helping then they question if what they perceive as someone needing help might be the wrong thought. So sometimes when the need for help is unclear, bystanders look to others for guidance and might not find it because others have the same unclear thoughts.
