Samantha is a strong willed young woman in her 20s, who ignores her landlord’s strict No Pets policy and takes in a stray cat from the alleyway behind her newly settled apartment. She grows attached to the kitten she dubs Meow, but amidst a series of shockingly bloody occurrences begins to think the sweet kitten may be capable of murder. Meow gleefully employs familiar elements of horror, comedy, and film noir that all unite in a genre defying twist that challenges viewers’ typical expectations.

You can see this short was created by a cat lover. Not only by the subject but also by that litter scene itself - you have to know a thibg or two about cats to show the importance of introducing a new cat to the litter box as one of the first thing in a new home. Also, everybody knows landlords are the real monsters. 10/10 ❤

I feel like this short film is a throwback to some of the stuff we watched in the 80s. It would have fit beautifully into Tales from the Crypt or Tales from the Dark Side. Very cool. I loved it.

What's the difference between a cat and a comma? A cat has claws at the end of paws and comma is a pause at the end of a clause.

This has a distinctly 80/90s retro feel to it & I love it. It could be a “Tales From the Darkside.” The opening title font alone reminded me of horror novels from the 90s, which was the golden age for that genre

Wow, this was brilliant. That landlord sure had me fooled, so he was the killer all this time. So the demonic cat was Samanth'a friend. I feel bad for her mom falling on the floor at the end, I guess she was shocked it made her dizzy and fall. I'd love to see a part 2 of this. I gave this a super-like.

He creeped me out from the beginning. ^^; Also, cats have a sense of things. I wonder if the cat was actually demonic, or the landlord just saw the cat that way. The landlord was the true demon.

This was a 12 min film and was so good it felt longer than that, the acting was cheesy but I was loving every bit of it all, great job

Such a great horror shot! But this character just doesn't care: walks barefoot outside where is wet, leaves scissors on the floor, and let's a total stranger inside. Love the music! Great throw back to the 80s-type of soundtrack! Great use of light,especially the night scenes. I was going to see the cat become this hulk-like creature from the beginning but it just took care of its owner! Good kitty! 😂 Loved it!

If the movie is supposed to take place in the 80’s then(from what I get from my grandpa) it was quite common for people to let in delivery people while you got the money. My grandpa would never do this when he was alone tho. But I agree, I’d never let a stranger in my house and leave them alone while I went to get something, I’d have that cash prepared in advance lol

As a cat Mum, all I can say is that he had that coming!! I loved this short. I agree with others who commented that it felt like an episode of Tales From the Crypt...seems like a legit horror at the beginning then goes completely off the rails by the end. Very 80's, in the best possible way. The acting, camera angles, music, and crazy landlord were all perfect!! 10/10 One of my Alter favourites. 😸😸

The scariest thing in this movie for me was the severe thunderstorm, since I live in a state with high tornado activity. Also, good kitty! I knew something was up with the landlord from the beginning. He was so creepy. Going so far as to frame the cat for the murders...chilling. He knew pets would pick up on him being an evil person, so that is why he didn't allow pets and didn't like animals in general. He was the true demon, not the cat. The newspaper at the end has an ad for "Bill 's Knife Emporium," ha ha. XD

I love that the cat defended her from the fiendish landlord, and I love that she and her mom were watching the old movie, “Cat People (1942) An American man marries a Serbian immigrant who fears that she will turn into the cat person of her homeland's fables if they are intimate together.”

I love this so much! It feels a bit like a cross between 80's horror movies and the Scream franchise, incredible combo! Not sure if that description makes sense anywhere other than in my own head. But anyway, it totally made my day! Liked, commented, shared x
