I felt so bad for that poor man; that was an assault, a kind of rape. And this is exactly how many perpetrators behave. Attack, then act as if they have done nothing wrong as their victim attempts to get themselves together trying to process WHAT has just happened to them. ...and omg, when he put that knife in his back to try to get that thing out I almost stopped the vid. Not to mention when the wife rushed in and did what she did. This was really good but I don't want to ever imagine a world where this is happening, even to men with whom I have a love/hate relationship with. Lol. I feel like this short pays homage to more than a few horror movies of the past. The ending had an Invasion of The Bodysnatchers ending feel to it although 2 totally different things. I also get a little Rosemary's Baby where the husband's career took off after he was ok to have his wife attacked by the Devil and have his baby. (Although in this case the wife came around towards the end and realized that this situation was all wrong.) Anyway. Awesome horror/sci fi short; actors & story pulls you right in from the very beginning & some very good believable acting + special effects.

@Mike-lx9qn
@Mike-lx9qn Жыл бұрын
I thought it was as subtle as Westerners can handle. Was also pushing the "ßex assault" theme & the "men are too proud to say it outright," which was the part that seemed a little woman-centric, & the role-switching was annoying. But since most Westerners like you love insulting things, acting ungrateful, or being anti-men, then it wasn't pushing the message hard enough. Should have actually been pushing it, especially the "women like nagging & victim-blaming men for almost anything" part. But the "bla bla bla pregnant & assault" thing was annoying, & the femininity thing all the men did was unnatural & too fake. If it was made outside the US, maybe it would have been perfect, not so "heavy-handed." The part where the roles switch & pregnancy, & "hosting" is treated like evil, babies like parasites, was annoying. Maybe it was written by a feminist & that's why it lacked quality.

To be based on realism I think they couldn't have women being implanted as it would create a stigma on it the same as assault. With this race being similar to humans a man forcing this onto another man is going to make it less accepted just like male rape cases vs female. Still all very hot topics and great representation

One last thing. Huge respect for all the actors in this. Each one played their role to the t. Be it victim, predator, sell out, manipulator, or caught in the cross hairs, or compliant...each one owned every single emotion and that is no easy feat. I did a play years it was dark. Different than this but it was a three person and the other actress...not the actor...he was the other one....told me to purge because she started to see crossover between character and person. I took her advice and the thing is these things stay with you. So to be able to perform at this level and keep the integrity of the project intact that's just WOW. I need to take acting lessons from all of them but I can't. I can't do it. One hour of this acting and I would need to purge for a month...so again RESPECT. HUGE KUDOS. You actors are all lit! Victim = May explain the situation, and with a 50/50 chance then goes online and reads a bunch of comments making them believe everyone is judging them. After all support forums are like cults, they don't want you to leave and fill your head with bad ideas. *Now* Police = 50% chance they don't even ask because of internet will cry "Victim-Blaming". Victim = 50% chance they don't even get help because the internet brainwashed them into thinking they'll be judged for it. *Moral of this Story?* It's people like you perpetuating the idea that you'll be judged that plays the largest part in preventing victims from seeking help.

The world we live in, men cannot be victims of anything at all ever. We are just supposed to be stoic, feelingless walking ATM's.

@@akumabazooka9169 To be fair that is the ideal for men, to be the reliable provider in the society. Though that ends up getting turned on its head by modern society that thinks anyone can be anything, and forcefully disrupts the harmony of our coexisting nature to force equality.

@@techpriest6962 so I was reading your other comment and trying to figure out if you were genuinely thinking “victims are afraid of victim-blaming so much that they won’t talk” or if there was soemthing else underlying it. Then I saw this comment and realized you’re just a bullshitter who thinks only certain people can be victims under certain circumstances and victimized by certain people. Thats not how it works and I sincerely hope for your sake and the people around you that could be victimized at any moment and wouldn’t say anything to you because of your state of mine that you try to look at things differently. Victimization sucks and you have a very warped view of it.

I went into this expecting typical body horror, but I was really impressed when all of the deeper thematic concepts became clear and even more impressed by how those concepts were presented in a way that didn't feel too obvious or preachy or pretentious. I would really like to see a longer film of this.

I must say this was an incredible film. It makes me feel even more sorry for the people who are raped every day. The scariest films are the real ones. I hope everyone who watched this film had the same experience I did.

After rewatching it is strikes to me that humans seems to be second class citizen here. Just like in "They live" aliens take upper class role they bosses, doctors (while nurses is human). Only one thing is weird, if they came from space, where is their space tech?
