Silvia, a hip 20-something, arrives in Los Angeles to visit her girlfriend Gloria. She checks into her BnB and is greeted by Rebecca, her socially awkward, clingy host. Rebecca babbles about nothing and pries incessantly.
Later that night, Silvia returns from her date with Gloria and tries to quietly sneak back inside, where she finds the power has gone out. As she undresses, her phone’s flashlight catches something strange on a nearby bookshelf, which she discovers is a security camera.

Gosh I've so many questions!!! Are Billy and Rebecca into this killing together? Or was Rebecca somehow trying to warn Silvia about her fate? Also Rebecca knowingly asks Billy about Silvia meaning she's onto Billy's plan?? Also was Silvia killed only because she caught the camera because the eye camera piece was thrown alongside her corpse?? Billy is a peeping Tom and uses them to notice Bnb guests and Rebecca as well??

I mean, if *both* of them shared the blame, why would they talk to one another like that? Why would she ask *him* about the girl and even suggest that she might be with her gf? It would be pointless.

The landlady are obviously being driven to insanity. Deep into severe extreme depression. Because all of all her guests kept leaving without saying goodbye and she just became a total weirdo. This video was very well done and it really nailed it when she gave her that hug. That was absolutely creepy.

This is really a nice short film. It has such good and unsettling atmosphere a good plot and great performance by the lead actresses. This short film's idea, story and performance are remarkable. The movie makers, writer and the director all did a great job. Thanks to Alter. And Lisa, you nailed it.

This whole scenario wouldn't work if any of the guests gave the address of the B&B. After a couple of disappearances from this same address the cops would have shut her down quick.

If you find a hidden camera there is normally more than one. I always get changed under covers just incase. I may be a tad paranoid but you can never be too careful especial when staying with strangers

Spoiler alert ! I actually feel bad for the host. Realized by the end that it wasn't her who installed the cameras (the neighbor knew when the guest was leaving). She really was just lonely.

The creepiest part of this message is the timing of the release. Especially since the article about a large percentages of Air BnB hosts actually have illegal surveillance equipment in their homes, creeping on guests. 😰 Fantastic job!

@@hanmeangirl6651 I’ve heard you turn off the lights and walk around the room with a flashlight point at objects and vents. If there is a camera you will see a reflection. I’ve seen light bulbs for sale on Amazon that are spy cams. So idk. I guess if someone wants to spy that bad.... it’s been made easy. Sickening but happens.

Know what could work as a good key to keep this story going? It's Gloria's text at the end when she said she's running a little behind and asked Silvia to order her an iced coffee. It could be their code that everything's all right or not depending on Silvia's response. First ALTER feature that got me cold hands while watching. Haha

I hated how it looked, I prefer hotel rooms with less crap, pictures and messages everywhere. I liked the message on the mirror though, good to most guests feel more welcome

I watch a lot of these shorts but these two actresses might be my new favorites. I forgot I was watching a short film on youtube and not something produced by netflix, the acting and production was stellar.

Good pacing! Airbnb hosts, like children, are usually wonderful but can be super creepy.

This film falls in what I call Creepy horror. This work manages to give some serious disturbing vibes. I hope this does not turn people off of the B&B experience. Staying in B&B's can be an amazing experience. That's how good this film is in that it will make you think twice about where you stay. On a deeper level, I think this film explores desperation very well. We all make poor decisions when feeling desperation. We also all need to learn to be aware of how our behavior affects others. The host displayed this lack of awareness in spades. Great job by that actress by the way. The actress who played the guest also did very well and was able to show how we often minimize warning signs of danger. Very well played how the never seen girlfriend Gloria was the most rational character. There is a cautionary tale here and that us to always be aware of your surroundings and to learn to trust your gut instincts.

I'm pretty certain after awhile of people coming and never leaving, they would be arrested. Yes, it's a creepy thought, but the amount of people you saw on the wall shatters that when you really think about it. Forensic science is beyond amazing, they can track down where a person was at the time of death by looking at insects, the type of dirt on the corpse, fibers, hair, etc. Oh and her gf knew about the cameras as I'm sure more then one person noticed. They are screwed in the end.

That was perfect! Best acting I've seen in many films--the host was almost understated in her hysteria, and Silvia was a perfect foil. That coffee cup! I did NOT see that ending coming.

OK ... this was completely creepy from start to finish ... totally put me off BNB's for good ( though probably that Paris experience in 2012 should have !) Excellent acting, cinematography and direction. I was totally immersed in this and totally enjoyed it. The screenplay was brilliant !
