Matt Cordell is broken. He was a vigilante who punished bad guys. Then he got attacked in prison by the same people he arrested. He came back and then started to kill innocent people. In the second movie he dies then gets resurrected in the third movie.

@@tikima1623they’re just explaining why he’s broken, which is essentially giving him a motive. Having a motive or reason doesn’t make it any less horrible, though. I think if you’re killing because you’re broken, there’s still evil in you.

Cordell and Pinhead are broken Pinhead was a human once and he fought in WW1. After the war he suffered in depression and he found a mysterious box. He opened it and it turned him into a Cenobite. After some time he lost his memories of his past life and now he is forced to serve his master Leviathan. Cordell was framed, imprisoned and murdered by the same criminals he put behind bars and now he's a vengeful zombie like Jason.

I love the scream movies and the only reason Billy is “broken” is cuz his mom abandoned him because his dad cheated, that doesn’t mean that he can go and kill his girlfriend just cuz her mom was the one who cheated with his dad.
