man does it bother me when the horse goes down and they get right back on without checking the horse for injuries...this is how horses literally get raced to death.

Remounting was banned in 2004 or 2005 I think because jockeys weren't making properly sure that the horses were really alright, especially when it came to hairline fractures or tendon injuries...

@Rimfaxe96 No, most horses prefer racing Quite recently a horse called Winker Watson came back from a 2 year retirement because he hated not being able to race. Last week, a 14-YEAR-OLD horse called The Tatling won a race. He shouldve been retired sges ago, but he loves racing so much that the owners wanted him happy
@WolfsRainLuvr14 жыл бұрын
I love racing but I don't think people should race on wet, muddy ground because on the inside of the track, the mud gets deep enough to go up to a horses knee and if a horse were to accidently step in it then it would break their leg. I have a retired Quarter Horse straight off the track and just so you know NOT ALL RACEHORSE DIE YOUNG!!! He's at a happy 36 years old and we still allow little kids to ride him with a bareback pad for therapy. (I'm to big to ride him now but I still love him)

@comeonshaymen You must set a line between the horses which actually love to race, and those which don't. There is no horse on the earth that would prefer racing or being ridden at all if it could chose between riding and staying on a field with its stable mates. Yet, if horses weren't rideable, they probably wouldn't exist anymore, and there are still horses which like to work with humans. If the owners just would treat the horses correctly instead of sending them on the track with 2 years etc.

don't somepeople think that a horse jumping at a full gallop might be catatrophic? Or is that just me?
@pennamb14 жыл бұрын
@TommyGavin5 speed has nothing to do with it, It's whether or not the horse is balanced at the takeoff. Good question though:)

@Rimfaxe96 Yes i do know about slaughter if thats what you meant. Nothing is whiter than white, but even the claimers and point-to-pointers are treated like royalty. It is the best sport in the world. And yes, sadly some horses suffer fatal falls, and everybody connected with the sport is distrught that a beautiful creature has lost its life doing what it loves.

Love to see you go 4 miles rounds Aintree on a dodgy jumper, live your life on minimal food, and see the look on your face. By comparison, USA racing is v dull and repetative. And yes, I have ridden under rules.

@comeonshaymen Read my comments correctly please. I didn't say that all horses hate racing. Yes, there are some that like it. But the sad rest is being forced to it by rider 'n whip. And I'm also no AnimalAid-PETA-Vegan guy, but as usual it's easier for people to live with prejudices than facts. Most people are simply to stubborn to do so as well. However, since I don't wish to spam this video (lol?), this'll be my last message in this (more or less) pointless discussion.

This kind of sport with hurdles should be abolished, I pity those horses, they are prone to injuries like broken legs and too dangerous to the lives of the jockeys.
@comeonshaymen13 жыл бұрын
@Rimfaxe96 No,thats the truth. Look at Dessie, for an instance. Watch any of his races, and than tell me horses dont love to race. I know you Animal Aid vegan types dont like being wrong, but in this instance, you are Anyway, why focus on the bad parts of the sport, lets focus on the many great aspects of NH racing
@salsabil443 жыл бұрын
Horses are pack animals and love to run. But just because some horses like Dessie seem to love running and jumping doesn´t mean that´s the case for all race horses. It´s like saying just because horses that have unseated their rider keep running and jumping then all race horses must love racing. If race horses loved racing so much then why do they need so many aids like blinkers, eyeshields, the whip etc, or why do they need gelded.
