OMG!! I love the first one. So many horses are stabled 23/7 and even when they get to go out you can barely see any fur, over rugged, paddock boots, fly masks, etc. THEY ARE HORSES. They didn't evolve with all this overprotective gear and they are still here today! This horse is completely naked and loving it:):):)

It depends on how she goes about training the horse, as long as the horse doesn't totally freak out and then shuts down during the training then that is abusive, but if that doesn't happen then its fine. There are better ways to help prepare your horse for those emergencies, ways that if the horse does begin to freak out you can stop it.

Hoo boy. so story time: Before now I've only had one horse, my Morgan Brigadier, Brig/Brigs for short, probably the biggest mistake I made was rescuing her not because I hate her no.....because she was my FIRST horse. Anyway back to the story, recently I just upgraded the stable because now we got ANOTHER horse. He is a chestnut saddlebred horse who, just like Brig, is a good horse given to the wrong owner. The owner didn't abuse him or anything she just couldn't quite get him so she decided to sell him pretty cheap, And thus i got involved and hear we are. I decided, since the owner hadn't named him yet, to name him Traveling Cincinnati as a reference to both General Lee and General Grant since he was a Chestnut like Grants Cincinnati, but a saddlebred like Lee's Traveler. Here's my problem...turns out Traveling Cincinnati (Cin for short, said like Sin.) is in love....with Brig.....like....DEEP in love with her.......and Brig feels the same......my problem is I currently only have enough land AND money to keep two horses in good care......help.

@@lostonessoul5154 Then the next best thing for your horses if you want to keep them (Or are hoping to keep them) is get the male horse gelded/castrated (Desexed and it should cost much either.). Things should settle down and he will be easier to manage, he can then also be more acceptably paddocked with other horses let alone mares. It's the same when you get dogs or cats, get them all de-sexed (Unfortunately we can't surgically castrate mares publicly/affordibly).

I just want to say to everyone out there loves horses like I do please talk to your senators and representatives so that the Safe Act is passed. This will stop the transport of horses whether their domestic or wild to slaughterhouses in Canada and Mexico. At every auction and I don't care how nice they seem there was a kill buyer there he will try to outbid everyone so that he can buy these horses to take them to slaughter because he sells them by the pound. I'm not trying to be mean but I want people to understand how horrible it is for many of these horses and how many beautiful horses end up in Slaughter pens end up getting stuffed in trucks and taking the last ride of their life to a Slaughter plant in Canada or Mexico. So I'm asking everyone that loves horses to ask that your senators and representatives pass this bill, it's called The Safe Act in the house it's HR 3355. I'm not sure what it is in the Senate need to get this bill passed. As many things as Horses have done for us throughout the years they don't deserve to be treated brutally as they do in the slaughter plants. Horses are companion animals they shouldn't be turned into 2 food and regardless of what places like the Bureau of Land Management say there's plenty of public lands out there designed for these wild horses and race horses deserve 4 all the work that they've done for their owners to be put out to pasture or to be put down if they're old or beyond help. There's no excuse for these animals sent to the slaughter plants where they don't even use a Humane method to put them down like a bullet to the brain they just beat them in the head with a sledgehammer and many times these animals aren't even dead when they start cutting them apart. I'm sorry to be graphic more people need to understand how hard and brutal it is for these horses and they don't deserve to be treated this way.

the thing is, its not wild/feral horses going to slaughter most times. Most times its domesticated horses that would never survive in the wild. 1) because they don't have a herd, 2) because for at least part of their life they were cared for by a human, so they lack the skills feral horses have to survive. Also your depiction of how they put down horses in slaughter horses is grossly misunderstood, they don't beat the horses to death as you claim. They also don't cut into them while they're still alive. just out of curiosity I would like to know your source for where you learned about the practices that take place in a slaughter house.

@@irish.eventing0386 a video that someone made of the procedure at a slaughterhouse in Mexico showed a bolt-action that they use and the bolt action is supposed to be hard enough to kill the horse however they show in the video that there are times when the horses are just stunned and they're still moving when they hang them up on the hooks to start cutting them up. I wish I would have saved it I saw it on Facebook over a year ago and yes many wild horses are loaded up and kill pins so please look into your information Texas has one Oklahoma has one and horses that are not adopted many times are sent to the kill pens. Many times people adopt these horses to get the $1,000 adoption Fe e and then once they have title they dump these horses at these kill auctions believe me I have been following many horse Advocates that have followed these things through to the very end. And many times they are trying to save these horses from a brutal ending which they don't deserve. So please don't defend what you don't understand too many horses are being sent to slaughter and they shouldn't be at all

@@tinapaxton685 ok, then 1) that isn't a bolt action as they claim. A close range, head shot from a bolt action shot gun can kill any farm animal. 2) that wasn't a actual kill pen, all official slaughter houses have regulations and procedures to ensure that the animals feel no pain, as the hormone released when stressed/in pain makes meat tough and gamey. 3) I was referring to domesticated horses being sent to slaughter, not wild, as none of my point would've been viable for wild horses. (as much as i hate to say this) Raleigh Link has a really informative video on slaughter houses. I'd suggest giving it a watch.

@@mikaelafox6106 I agree, the robot voice is seriously annoying. I may call my pets baby/my baby when talking to them, but I don't refer to them that way to other people, with the possible exception of an orphan I may be raising (we sometimes joke that when my bottle calf is mooing for her bottle she's saying Mom, but to be fair that is who I would be to her and that is what it sounds like she is saying), once they are weaned and no longer so dependent on me I generally stop. My horses see me as boss, partner, friend, annoying human, food bringer, etc (depending on which horse) never mom/mommy and I guarantee this horse doesn't either. I see my pets/horses as companions and partners, and yes, some are family (dogs and cats always, sometimes others), not my children and find the trend super cringy.

Woman forces horses into hobbles then justifies her hobbles by her tying her horses dangerously long, cementing the fact that she is irresponsible and sets her horses up for failure. Creating a fix for a problem you made yourself isn't something you should be congratulated for.

hobbles are an amazing tool when used correctly. They can be used to train horses to not freak out if their leg is every to get caught in anything (vines on a trail ride, a paddock gate/fence) which can prevent many major injuries in the future for both horse and rider.
