Thank you for saying what is true. Many of us have wasted so much effort and resources and risked so much under the advice that “there are no bad horses “ 💔. All the while there is some young sweet little colt out there waiting for someone to have time for him.

Sadly, people do not understand horses are BIG animals. That firmness is NOT cruel and you are right--there are horses that have bad minds. I've been lucky in my 40 yrs not to meet one but I have heard stories.

This is so true. Make sense now that I look back. I worked with two different stallion years ago. One was world champion halter horse. He was a nightmare of a horse. He toke of vet pinky, picked up his owner form collar bone to drag around, charged you, kick you, bit you...list goes on. He was never abused and had top notch training. Then other stallion was a performance horse. I could trust him to ride him in a halter with other horses around. Not known he was a stallion by watching him ride. Easy to be around and easy to work. Still mindful he was a stallion but I didnt have watch every move I made around him unlike halter stallion. What was crazy to me. Is people came form around the world to bred to this halter horse and best believe most his babies got his mindset. Looking back that halter stallion was just bad minded and now with you pointing out halter. Make so much more sense now.

Wow, there’s a lot to think about here. I took on a young gelding yearling( now 6)who turned out to have difficult personality. It’s taken me years to chip away at his bad behaviors. I’ve felt like we’d take two steps forward and one back every step of the way. I’ve often thought he needs a ranch hand to put him to work like you said. I’ve only owned under 10 horses and trained 2 before. He may not be a totally bad minded horse but he is difficult. All horse are not created equal.

Saying there are no bad horses, are the clinicians trying to make money! I have had several horses and only one bad one. I gave him away, after taking him to multiple trainers.

I bought a ranch gelding to use as a pony horse and the first thing that made me realize he had a bad mind was when I led him to tie to the fence and he tried to strike me when my back was turned. I tried to get the seller to take him back. I couldn't. I was so embarrassed that I got burned by that guy but later didn't feel so bad when I heard that 2 other good cowboys had made him take him back. He was dangerous. I traded him to a fellow who knew him and never did business with that other man again.

I agree. I just got rid of a horse exactly like this. It wasn't worth it anymore. He would have a new trick to try and evade me every single day.he would get better if worked all day then next day he was back at it. This went on for three months and he never gave it up, each day was a new world of opportunities for this horse to hurt someone or break something. Not worth the broken tack and Injurys.

One question if the horse came with a bad behavior and developed different bad behavior did you really correct the initial problem ?

I am literally cracking up! The horse you have in training (Cyril) is exactly how this horse I had was 😂! I am sharing this video, because most people just don’t get it when I try to explain the behavior of the one I had! I gave him away, and he was super fancy and a pretty mover... A month later I get a call from a trainer in Texas who had bought him at an auction for a decent chunk of change... I felt bad for him.... I was hoping the horses would have been turned to glue!

I think you just don't understand the horse. Hoping it would be turned into glue? Ever been to Monty Roberts? Maybe you should. You can learn a trick or two. Or maybe you cannot. I don't know. But you were just no good for that horse. I am glad you gave away the horse. At least he's away from you. No offense, but for fuck's sake! Stay away from horses. You'd do them a favor.

Simple... Bad training caused his problems... and good training fixed them.

I've heard that horses that have eaten loco weed can be like that, having unpredictable schizophrenic type behavior.

Pretty irresponsible of that breeder to deliberately sell (and mislead the new owner) a horse they knew had "something wrong" with it. Why not just put him down humanely?

Why would you sell a 2yo or any horse like that, personally I would have shot it.. iv met only a few of these horses but they are not worth it.. it sad that owners can't bring themselves to believing the horse can be "saved" 🤬

That's seldom the case. Horses usually have a good reason to do what they do... Unless they are a little crazy.

Hmm...brings up the ethics of selling a horse you know to be JUST PLAIN BAD! I hope the lady returned him to the breeder and got her money back....

Hi Denise, Unfortunately it seldom happens. In this case, the girl knew there was a problem. She took him on hoping to save him from a bad life or worse.

Shame on the Breeder for on selling a known dangerous horse. For money. Zero thought for the buyer. Zero interest in the potential harm it was going to do to anyone else, as long as it wasn't them. Shame on the Breeder for not addressing a dangerous badly bred horse and euthenasing them. But no, this Breeder saw money as the answer. There's plenty of good horses 🐎 out there. Don't add a psycho badly bred horse to get money. Critique your breeding Bloodlines. Critique your foal handling and start thinking beyond your wallet $$$ and ask yourself Why are 'you' selling 'your' horse. If it isn't good for you as a Breeder horse owner, then don't sell it! Period!
