Little Foot is a Thoroughbred gelding that came to Horse Plus through the January Buy Out Program. Upon intake, he seemed to be in good health other than being underweight, so he was released into a quarantine pasture. After a couple of weeks, however, our veterinarians noticed he was not gaining any weight. They took radiographs of his mouth and it revealed evidence of an old mandibular fracture. Thankfully, it was not something to worry about and he received medication for the ulcers in his mouth. Later, the vets discovered more oral ulcers while trying to do a dental examination, and determined that this was the cause of his inability to gain weight. After treating his mouth, Little Foot received antibiotics and soon began improving. It wasn't long before he was finally approved for adoption.
