We have visited Horseshoe Bend from the overlook and of course it's beautiful, but we saw people floating in the river below and thought "Hey, that looks cool!"
If you're looking for something unique and less touristy than the Horseshoe Bend overlook, this is it. We booked a backhaul services which provided kayaks or paddle boards and a 10 mile boat ride of the river.
Once you reach Petroglyph beach, you can enjoy a several hour float/paddle all the way back to your parked car.
It's hot outside, the water is freezing, and every turn offers more beautiful views of the canyon around you.
