What i love from insooni is when she sings, she try to deliver it more emotionally rather than trying to be those "perfect" singer. Other singers can sing scream sophistically showcasing their talent and difficult technique to make people in awe, but insooni can just sing to make people touched and cried :")

it's more sad when you know her back story.. she was born in korea, after the korean war time between her korean mother and u.s. soldier father who was African American. He left to u.s. by himself, and did not come back. At the time, korea had very few foreigners and they were very close minded towards different race, and it was very hard for her growing up there having obvious difference in her appearance. kids picked on her for looking different and not having a father around.

CoSmic Muse He was a soldier, was only over there for his station, and after he went back to America, never returned. Sadly, this is common. Soldiers will often have relations with foreigners and leave the created family behind.

the father left her mother while she was pregnant. so he never got to see her being born. they did write to each other time to time though, until she was 14 years old, but it did not last. in 2010 she had a concert in NY with 100soldiers who had gone to korean war. she said this song was a gift to all of them. she calls every soldier who had fought in korean war 'father'. and she wants them to let go of their heavy heart, if any of them wonders that there could be their child in korea

I don't think I've ever teared up listening to a song til now.. I read about Insooni's life story and the meaning of the song. what a beautiful bright person in the midst of having to grow up in post-war Korea as a minority. Truly moving

+S. Hoon Kim How can you say that she is NOT the best singer when her singing touch you and made you cry? Isn't this contradicting? She is NOT the ONLY BEST SINGER but she IS ONE OF THE BEST SINGER. I am from the Philippines but I recognized how raw and emotional her singing. This song literally grab your heart from your chest and grip it, that is why we cry.

This song always got me too emotional. I lost my father when I was 6 in a car accident. He was not a good husband or a father but I always tried to find something good in him and overlook the bad things he did to our family. And Yes I do love him yet I have also hated him time to time when I think of him. And again today I think of him as my tears keep on falling. ~
