Thanks for your tip on getting the burn out of your hands. I strung cayenne peppers up on a thread one year to dry just tied to the shelves and I ended up with burning hands for days. Felt as if I scalded them in hot water but I learned my lesson.

Rachel.... i (accidently) grew a Red Thai Pepper plant. lol. And they are very much like Cayenne and Bird Chilies. I let them go red on the plant and clipped them off... with 1/4 to half inch stem. I pierced the with a pin to give them a vent hole.... and dehydrated them on 125 degrees .. whole.. for about 2 1/2 days. OMG they are gorgeous and look beautiful stacked vertically in a quart jar. I can now decide to toss one in whole in a dish.. or take one out and grind in my pestle/mortar (if i feel like living dangerously) So that too is an option. Thank you for sharing all that you do. Love your videos. And get that buck... the delay... is only letting him get bigger for next time.. mo-meat for that freezer.

I have to say I’m jealous of that dicing attachment!! I just put a tray of ghost peppers in my Excalibur tonight. I don’t dice those tho - just a slice to open up the skin a little and they go in whole. I sell pepper powders - when I grind the ghost or other super hot ones I have to wear a mask - which these days is not such a big deal. Lol. But year ago it was like crap gotta find a mask... it does clean the old sinuses out for sure!!

I grew Tai basil for the first time...I allowed the strongest plant to go to seed and let them dry on the plant..After I winnowed the seed heads I have two tablespoon s of seed for the most delicious and fragrant basil I was ever blessed to cook with. Obviously I don't need that many seeds...if you would like some I'd be very happy to share some with you.

Them peppers burn. After handling peppers rub your hands with olive oil make sure to get the oil under nails and around your cuticles. Then wash with a good hand soap. The oil attracts the capsicum and the soap attracts the oil. Now I have no more burning eyes!

I scrolled thru the comments first and didn’t see anyone else ask, so I hesitated.... but I need to confirm, did you only cut off the top and grind with seeds inside? I have dehydrated mine whole with pierces using a knife, like you do a potato with a fork. I had thought I would need to open and pull out the seeds before grinding into homemade chili powder. Do I? or are the seeds part of the heat? I am new to all this, and thank you so much for your guidance and inspiration.

My lesson was learned only about 3 weeks ago! I think I tried EVERYTHING on the internet and then Seriously wanted to go to the er myself! OMGOSH! That's some painful stuff! As the box of gloves sat un-opened, on the kitchen counter, mocked me for 12+ hours! I thought that exact same thing, as long as I don't touch my face it should be ok....I used alcohol, peroxide, milk, yogurt, cornstarch, aloe vera, even Anbesol for tooth pain! I thought well it numbs up your mouth for a bit, maybe...Nope! Benadryl cream, Benadryl 2 tablets! (Only made me more sleepy and more miserable!) Then I used some cortisone cream and if that didn't work, the hospital was getting a visit, come Covid and high water! And finally something kicked in enough that I was able to fall asleep! Peppers, nope they DON'T play nice AT ALL! Lol! 😂🤔🥴😳😢😭😭😱☠
