Acrylic Pour Painting Fluid Art Abstract FantasyPour RingPour StraightPour Hot Rod Flames Bold Earth Colors
Hello Friends!
In the video before this one, 'Capricorn', I had mixed up two different palattes of paint but only used one for that pour. In this pour I'm using the second set of paints, the Bold Earth colors.
My Colors are:
Golden's
- Van Dyke Brown
Liquitex Basics
- Ultramarine Blue
DecoArt Americana
Decor Metallics
- 24K Gold
Satin Enamels
- Neutral Beige
- Pure White with some
Golden's Iridescent Pearl
Chroma Molten Metals
- Aged Bronze
Satin Enamels
Artist's Loft
- Red Ochre
My Pouring Medium is:
Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish
Paint + a bit of Water
Floetrol
I really love the Artists Loft Red Ochre.. it's got a lot of depth and blends beautifully with other colors, especially the 24K Gold.
I layer my cup with contrast in mind, dark light dark light, and then apply a basecoat of thinned out Van Dyke Brown. I pour a Fantasy Pour (Ring Pour and Straight Pour combined).
I start to tilt it to cover the canvas and then my Husband (also the cameraman) said that he saw Hot Rod Flames 🚘 and could I stretch them out? 🔥Make the Flames the focus of the piece? Sure I can! 😊 So I tilt off a lot of paint and stretch and stretch and stretch some more lol.. eventually I get the composition where I like it.
Stretching everything that much really opened up the lines and created a really beautiful layering effects, similar to what happened in Space Feathers and Elusive.
I think this is a really beautiful color palette, I love the Earth tones and that bit of Ultramarine Blue adds a lot of pop.
Do you like Hot Rods or have a spouse who does? Do you see Flames in this piece? I'd love to know what you think 🔥🚘🏎️😁

You are such a great teacher, Mina. . Every paint colour, and medium used is written down to the right and talked about, so it is all very clear exactly what you are using. As you work, it is visually clear what the thickness of your paint is like, and how the paint is applied. Thank you, and it is obvious that you are having so much fun doing this. ❤️

I wanted to let you know that I don't know about anyone else, but your videos, your down to earth laughing, awesome personality that shines on every video helps me so much more than painting tips. I've been in the worst depression of my life. A little over a year ago I lost the love of my life. We were married for almost 15 years, which I'm very grateful for. But, grateful or not it seems the depression won't stop. But, while I watch your videos, it gives me a little break emotionally. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Hi Patricia! Thank you so much 💓 I am so sorry for your loss 😢 I have some experience with depression, its not easy. I will tell you one thing tho, and please excuse my language here.. Depression is a lying bitch. When she whispers those lies to you, try to focus on the positive good things in your life. Take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. You deserve it. You are worth it. ❤ ❤❤ Much love to you 💝

What a blast from the past!! The music sounded like The Ventures and then The Orange Crate 1932 Ford Sedan!! Wow'zers! All that's needed are shades, Lucky Strike cigarettes and Brylcream to get my D.A. in proper shape! I can't blame HoA for laying claim! But for some reason I'm hearing Marilyn Monroe singing "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend"! GG! Mina!

OMGosh @Mina Villegas Art!?!... I am not even all the way thru the video yet and already having to comment!!! I would love to share a picture with you of a piece I did 3 or 4 nights ago. I am fairly new to doing actual paint pours. I spent a couple of months just studying all the ins and outs, trying to get as much knowledge and inspiration as possible, before I started... just to try to make sure I didn't waste too much money or product that I have saved for and worked hard to collect. I recently started feeling like I was ready to jump fully in to work on the end results I wanted. Well... I NO LIE had mostly similar colors left over the other night and thought they looked cool together and decided to give it a go. As I poured, I decided to do something a little different and I did the exact same little upward swirly spiral that you did here lol!!! It just felt right, and I rolled with it. I only had a 12×16 canvas though and less leftover paint, so I didn't have enough of some colors to make them pop... plus the smaller canvases seem to be harder to get the full effects of stretching everything on to me too!?! I ended up being really happy with it. It is kind of odd, but a good odd. I told my husband that it looks like an astro shooting thru the atmosphere coming from Mars lol!!! I just couldn't help but think that was so cool that you played with the same leftover colors and even the same design (for the most part anyways). P.S. Now that the video is over... WOW!!! Another AMAZING painting in the books. Yours is of course WAY better than anything I could ever do. It amazes me that similar colors and pour out can turn into such different outcomes when you throw all the varying factors into things!!! Even tho mine is actually nothing like this, I love how they started out alike, and ended in crazy different results. Your piece is just GORGEOUS!!! I have a long ways to go lol 😂 Yours looked good at so many different stages of tilting it would be a tough one to decide what to go with!!! That Van Dyke's Brown is beautiful. I have to home mix most of my paints to get what I want. (I think I told you about that in your comments a couple days ago.)... but one of mine was so much like it!!! I would love to have the real colors one day!!! Just thought it was awesome that I hadn't even seen this, and yet here you were doing all this awesomeness in similar ways lol... great/creative minds think alike. Thank You for being one of my biggest inspirations Mina!!! 💖

You can do it! Mina started with 12x16s as well... not that long ago, either... before I knew it, she had half the garage and we had to move so we could both have more space,, LOL! Big canvases are impressive, but do take lots more space and materials, normal sizes are brilliant as well... and are easier to hang! Cheers!

@@BrianVillegas67 Thank you Brian!!! I just love you guys so much and don't even know you all!!! I love the way you guys interact on camera, and I can tell how much you support her work. I totally understand what you mean about having to readjust for all the space things begin to take up rather quickly lol!!! I just built myself a canvas rack today that stands about 6 feet tall and has yarn going thru slats to be able to store all of my dried pieces in. Funny story... we literally just moved into our new home when I took up the interest in this... my husband and I were talking the other night saying that it would have been nice to know this was going to be an addiction prior to picking the floor plan we did 😂😂😂 We are adjusting and making it work tho!!! I do have some big canvases on their way to me right now as we speak. I am so excited to get them. I have some 20×20's and 24×24's coming. I can't wait to get my hands on them!!! I wanted to be sure that I could really pull it off before I spent on the big stuff. I knew when I started that I was enjoying it, but little did I know I was going to be fully addicted to it lol!!! Thank you so much for the encouragement. I think it is so awesome to have ppl such as you and Mina, Sarah Mack, Molly's Artistry, Julie Cutts, Lily's, Tammy A, and the list goes on and on... that are willing to share tips, tricks, and encouragement to all of us out here, and not be the least bit stingy with it. I am so thankful for it all. I told my husband that I want to save up and purchase a piece of work from each person that has inspired me, to have as decoration in our new home. Mina and the others have helped me in ways that they don't even know!!! Not just thru guiding my art, but guiding my heart!!! I recently went thru a severe battle with deep depression and anxiety. I hit a low I didn't know was possible for me!?! I knew I had to help myself and that was when I decided to go buy some canvases for the paints I had laying around. I had no clue where it was about to lead when I did. But that was when I started searching around and found Mina and the others!!! Mina and the other ladies literally helped me make myself get up out of the bed and push myself thru the lowest point in my life. I am forever grateful for that!!! You guys have no clue the positive ways you are effecting people. Please tell Mina that I thank her for helping me thru all of this and getting me to where I am now!!! Btw... funny you mentioned that it wasn't that long ago that Mina was getting her start. I have been watching her since November, and have even went back into her past videos I had missed, but had never went all the way back until maybe 2 or 3 days ago!!!... I was floored when I saw that she just came on scene with her first video about 8 months ago!?! Here I was thinking she had to have been doing this for many years now!!! She is just so talented and amazing all the way around!!! You guys as a team are very appreciated. Thank You again for your response and please pass a HUGE Thank You to Mina for me too. Sending hugs and blessings to yall. I am thankful to have found you guys.

Another beautiful piece ❣️ I love your style and the results always come out professional. I was wondering, does mixing your paint with the gloss medium and varnish make it so you don't have to varnish your artwork after it's dried?
@BrianVillegas67
@BrianVillegas67 4 жыл бұрын
I can field this one, mi'lady... The gloss medium and varnish is like a light varnish job...it looks good, makes a consistent subtle sheen, and is reasonably well protected. Varnishing more after that can bring out richer colors sometimes, and looks more shiny. Flat spray finishes scatter the light and can reduce contrast and color intensity, try semi-gloss or gloss...satin isn't bad if you really don't like shiny finishes. Cheers!
