Amazing how the first snowfall brings the kid in all of us - even this 76 year old guy! I had a best friend who was born and raised in Cripple Creek Co. Those old gold mining towns are great fun to visit but the 9K foot altitudes take some adjusting to! Thanks for sharing! Travel safe!

Throughout my camping years and traveling years, I always enjoyed hot springs. Twenty minutes in hot springs un knots every muscle and nerve ending in the body and I know that having for years surviving a fractured spine, neck and broken leg caused by an accident. I am able to move at my age now, as well as I did 30 years ago, because the outdoors, nature, nature guides like you, have helped me all my life despite having a surgery, when I was eleven, that had to be done to save my life from an infection. That was in '72, and outdoor activity, being raised in the Redwood Forests of California, then moving after marriage to a new life in Arizona, so I could raise the child I was sure we would have around parks and national monuments and parks. She even became a girl scout, though she freaked when scorpions would enter the two homes she was raised in, I had to be the 'hero' to save her and my arachnophobic wife (we joke about that) and deal with the scorpion I only encountered two scorpions, one was sent to heaven by my arachnaphobic wife, the other I entered into a relocation program coz' it was much bigger, meaner, and no way I could smush it.... Thank u, I know I have hijacked your video with comments I hope most will ignore, I just wanted to become a subscriber, because you share nature like my school friends and I did, when we were allowed to do field trips in school and college

I found a woman’s shoe under the old sluice box at St Elmo gave it to the little museum there, they told me to just keep it but I left it for others to enjoy! That little “wiggle wiggle “ really made that pizza special 😊

​ @DrHannahStraight, I started to fly fishing about 20 years ago. I work in IT, so I needed something to help me unplug. I basically taught myself how to do it with the help of KZfaq and it led me down the rabbit hole to where I am now. Now I tie my own flies and make my own rods when I am not fishing during the winter. I highly recommend learning how to roll cast. it is great for places that have trees or steep banks behind where you are casting or if your back cast is getting caught in the trees. also, some basic entomology. 80% of a fish's diet is sub surface. so, fishing with wet flies, nymphs, scuds, chromides is a great place to start. you may also want to look at fly tying, the biggest expense to new fly fishers is flies and leaders. they tend to go pretty quick when you are first learning to fly fish. Anyway, i hope you enjoy it as much as i do. and look forward to seeing more of it.
