Experience the complete build of my latest, and largest, DIY camper. It's 6X10, sleeps four, has a shower and toilet and a new, experimental way of powering it with Ryobi 40 volt batteries (as well as shore power). Like my other builds, I didn't hold back when using alternative building techniques just to see if I can pull them off. It travels on a Harbor Freight 1720 lb trailer and can be easily unmounted if needed. It's also my first build that's tall enough to stand up in!
MATERIALS LIST BELOW
If you found this video after the release date, we have installed a 3500lb-rated axle and a set of Rainer radials. This helps the build be the safest possible on the road, although we didn't have any issues with the equipment used in the video. We simply upgraded when we could.

Couldn't agree more with the sentiment of music. There are moments when music can be good, but KZfaq creators often use it too much. The audience doesn't need a constant onslaught of noise. A little exposition on what you're doing, shots that show it and that is all you really need.

I would think a carpenter would object to the use of lap board for bottom wall structure. Those lag bolts aren't very useful, because the wood is the weak point, not eh fastener. Under enough stress, load, or long term shock and wear, the structural failure of the design is the bottom boards splitting, which pine will do.

Thank you for posting. You helped me solve a remodel problem using a simple support system for an existing seat that is metal frame in construction. I needed to make it convert into a wider width for a bed. Also will be using the table idea too. I had the same idea for a shower using metal sheeting but was unsure how to do that and converting a floor to ceiling cupboard that already had a small wind up roof ventilation window. I will replace that with a new fitting that will have a light and extraction fan.

Thanks for watching! I have been given a lot of credit for this build. I appreciate that, but I wish I would've said in the video that I've been doing handyman and construction work on and off for two decades. Now, I'm finally using on-the-job skills at home in the garage, by building these campers. Most any handyman or seasoned construction worker could easily replicate this build. The only gift I have is perseverance. Not giving up. If folks would watch me in real time building this, I'd actually look quite dumb. I make a million mistakes along the way and often don't know my next move. But that's the beauty of editing!

A lovely little van. I totally agree with you that it isn't nice for an air-conditioner to extend outside the van while travelling. I have seen people put them on a slider so they can have it inside while travelling and then extend it outside for full venting while being used. I can't wait to see how well it works while using it. I absolutely love all the wood textures.

Thanks for checking out the video! We're plannning to modify this so that the AC can slide in and out. I kinda wish I would've did it beforehand, but sometimes I can't see how things will work out until I get some hindsight. We've ran this AC, in this configuration, for a couple hours now. It hasn't done anything weird, but I agree that a slide-in/slide-out would be better and really fun project to do. Thanks again!
