I have watch so many of your videos as of late. I find a peace and comfort with you and Susie. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us I hope you are as blessed as much as you bless us! Just wish I could share with my friend.

I love that sound of rain hitting the tarp. During all the time I spent out in the woods while contracting, the best times were under a tarp drying out with a small fire as the smell of the freshly brewed instant Folgers filled my little hootch. It was even better at night. I am older now and somewhat dilapidated, but the memories still serve me well. I might even irritate the wife when it gets abit colder and pull out my old ruck, grab a tarp and setup in "the yard" (10 acres of mixed woods and pseudo-pasture in the Sandhills) and have a coffee while it is raining. Thanks for the videos Luke and may you continue to have a good life.

Yup, he is a pro film maker. Not silly movies with 95% cartoon tech. The thunder sounded close. I wounder how close Luke has been to lightening or it's been to him. I've had a half dozen close strikes. Seen two transformers blow up. Little heater (and not that little) and a big tent with the front door open. Duh.

Been watching your videos for a month or so. I am impressed. Love the way you present all the products. The scenery, the weather and the conversation you carry on like we are all right there with you. Used to go out camping all the time with my friends and buddies in my younger years. Had my Toyota Land Cruiser and could get just about anywhere I wanted to go. Now I am 71 almost and it’s more fun to watch you do all this than trying to do it myself. Also my wife has had 8 major back surgeries as well as other surgeries and sleeping bags and sleeping on the ground is not on the menu. Keep the videos coming and I will have a ear to ear smile. I would have pointed the tent downwind - front opening 45 degrees to leeward and the sleeping end 45 degrees to to windward. This would keep the front open end dry and also allow the wind to carry off any smoke from a fire or cookstove. I'd like to see how waterproof the tent is without the tarp. This tent is really unique. Almost a modern baker style with a porch and interior sitting room.

I sometimes go months without watching any of your videos, but I always return. I’ve got health issues and other things that make camping difficult - including a family that’s not really interested in camping. Your style of video makes it able for me to enjoy it vicariously! The closest I came recently was camping all weekend a few weeks ago at Virginia International Raceway. It was in a super luxurious RV so not quite the same but at least I was sitting outside all day and night, exploring the infield wooded areas, etc. It reminded me I needed to catch up on your videos!

Honestly a single person out camping with all the gear you are using such as the battery generator and other glamping gear that has a truck with a camper shell or a van type of vehicle that can drive to the campsite it makes much more sense to use a cot to sleep in the vehicle and you can use a single tarp to cover the rear hatch opening than go to all the effort to lug and set up a tent and move all the gear to the tent to camp and move it back to the vehicle to pack up. Also will not need to worry about leaks in the sleeping area this way and will be off of the cold wet ground as well. The single tarp will still give you a covered area outside the vehicle to set up a more full sized bag chair as you are not packing it in and weight is not a big deal. I have an all wheel drive Astro van that works great for this type of camping. It originally was a conversion van which I removed all the rear seating and the side windows in the rear actually have screened sections which slide open for added air flow. A normal camping cot set up in the rear offers comfortable DRY sleeping accommodations. There are enough windows between the front drive and passenger and rear screened windows to offer enough fresh air flow where a small heater could be run safely and the heat loss from being in the vehicle as compared to a tent will be much less allowing the heater to be run less and on lower heat settings to maintain a comfortable temperature. Last but not least if you leave your campsite for a bit you can easily lock your vehicle with all your gear inside to offer some security to your gear where in a tent you would have to lug it back to the vehicle to secure it and then back to the tent to use it later that evening. Going through the hassle of setting up a tent in a situation where you drive to your camping spot with a vehicle that easily accommodates a good sleeping area makes little to no sense to me.

49:53 Awesome red leaves or is that just the sun? Thanks for the reviews. I also solo camp in the winter but only for 2-3 nights and hopefully without rain. I don't use heaters or cook. Yea, I'm lazy. I go out for breakfast from my 2track tent and stay outside most of the day. In snow I take my cc skis. I am looking forward to another on my bday -- 76yo

What's insane is you can hear how hard the wind is blowing. The damned tent is stone still, he's having a normal volume conversation inside of it. Man I wish I could find a tent like this for my 4 man family.

I've had this tent for a few months now and have ran it through its fair share of hell. It's an absolute TANK. Luke raves about this tent and its value and I can also say this is the best damn tent I've ever owned. Truly, if you ever have a need for this tent I can back up everything in this video. I can't speak highly of it enough.

Hi Luke! My first thought was "Luke, why are you pitching your tent in the middle of the road?" Good explaination about the wind. As I am watching this it is stormy and wet in Austin, (it's about time.) I had a thought about sending you something. I think i will.

that's what I love about tent and tarp setups, it changes from trip to trip, the weather is always in the thinking of how you do it.

Holy glamping! I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone bring that much stuff for one night of camping, and I regularly camp with Cub Scouts! I kid though, I get that the point of your channel is gear review, so you would naturally have an abundance of gear. Great production quality. For safety sake, I don't know that I would have camped in those conditions so exposed. I have heard too many horror stories with lightning while teaching Wilderness First Aid.

I enjoyed watching this episode in the living room on the TV instead of on the phone, I thought the tent held up well, but I can’t wait to see it in the rain. See you when it comes back on.

Lovely scenery and rain camping. Thank you for sharing. The tent has too many issues to rely on however it would be OK for summer or beach camping.

I love camping during a storm. I was up on the ridge of a dune (really not the best place for lightning safety) overlooking Lake Michigan in my hammock and a storm rolled through. I have a costume made 4 season tarp and I can pull that down around my hammock and that gives me lots of protection. Love it.

I love watching you set up your tent and all the thought that went into making it safe, comfortable and home. I hate to bring up your illness, l remember you saying something about an injury you got when work on steel. If that was not the case will you correct me. My son is always doing things and l don't feel he is being safe enough. You and him are alot alike, very methodical. I just want to pass on things to consider before you get hurt. How are you doing l heard you say that you are currently doing chemo. I hope l am not offending you l'm a cancer survivor. 13 years now.

Loved this video, the info on the stoves, and of course the rain and storms. And you’re right, can’t depend on the weather forecasts anymore. The weather itself is different around here. I miss the good old days when the weather forecasts and the storms were predictable. Love a good storm!
