hi, thanks for sharing! im just looking for this stove too. Between many options out there it sems the best option for me. I have the idea to use it on cold climate bellow freezing temperatures, backpacking, snowshoeing, backcountry skiing and probably on some kayak winter trips to dry gear and to warm up. Mainly to carrry it in a backpack... Also planning to use it with a heat battery charger for my powerbank. (I also have a sun charger) How do you feel about it? Is the pipe still in good shape?Would you recommend it? i know you would probably still need to try it on proper winter climate but just wondering to know how it works for you. Anyway , i found you videos really usefull. thanks!

Thanks a lot! The few instances that I’ve used it it has been an absolute joy. I’m sure you won’t regret it and it’ll be helpful on your adventures. It is a bit bulky and not really ultra lightweight as far as backpacking or backcountry skiing goes, but if you can distribute some weight/other food & gear amongst others in your party it’s a definite winner! Plenty of heat to cook, warm up, and dry things out is amazing. It does require a fair amount of wood processing to keep it fed and it might burn for 2 hours or so at most when stuffed with good hardwoods and a good flame going. So it takes some effort to keep it going. Check out my follow up video to this one where I take it on its first motorcycle outing. Enjoy!

The pipe is still in good shape. I do have a second pipe that shorter that I have yet to burn in. Might not be a bad idea to have some sort of back up at your house in case yours gets mangled on a trip. Kind of fragile and one tip over or trip on a guy rope could ruin it.

@@CaptMaxADV Hi ! thanks for answering and sharing !. We apreciate the info and opinion! I think the T1 Mini is going to be my choice, but i dont like that pipe, looks flimsy and weak... Just thinking about purchasing a nested/nesting pipe , i would weight a bit more but i want something more stable sturdy that wouldn´t fail , bend or collapse due to the wind or an accident... Also similar packed size (just a bit more weight ) but not rolling needed. Now, i´m just looking for that nested/nesting pipes at the same diameter at the base and 30 cm in lenght sections aprox. I apreciate any info or help to find that pipe. I´m from Europe !

Sure thing. Pomoly recently released their multi piece pipe. Check out their website.

So I'm a little confused, you're not carrying this with your motorcycle, are you? I would think this is good for car camping or overlanding in the winter. Cool fire shtuff!

Yeah. Totally on the bike. The stove pipe rolls up tiny! Peep the first vid and see it all bundled up small.

Well yeah! But I plan to ride to Alaska. And Canada. They’re known to be cold, and wet, even in summer. I don’t think you’ll see me down in Baja with my tent stove! 🤣

The stoves? Or chimneys? I’d imagine hundreds and hundreds of uses. Best to ask the manufacturer.

Whisky, thanks for this. I bought the taisoca which has the oven on the bottom. I was a little ticked when I made the payment through Paypal and saw that the recipient was Chinese. Assumed it was made in the USA. At $649, the idea of sending that much money to China really bothers me. The oven has two removable grates which I'm thinking of using in the stove. Are you getting any deflection of the bottom metal by the wood laying right on it?

Any problem pulling that noodle out?
@CaptMaxADV
@CaptMaxADV 2 жыл бұрын
No problem there. Once the rings are on it’s a bit larger than the noodle so it slides right out as I recall.

There’s a FaceBook group that Pomoly is fairly responsive to, and a ton of customer interaction/experiences for product use/quality/customer service issues etc. I’ve only used mine a handful of times but no deflecting issues so far! I’d not hesitate to pick up a couple different ones for different applications. Enjoy!

I’ve only used it about 5 times. No significant warpage. Just minor, what I would expect.

is there a spark arrestor in the the damper set?
@CaptMaxADV
@CaptMaxADV 2 жыл бұрын
I bought it all as a unit. Including damper and spark arrestor with the stove. Not sure if they’re selling them differently now. If you’re asking if there is a spark arrester within the damper then no, it’s wide open.

I wish I had just payed a little more to get this stove instead of ordering the 3w luxe stove. Luxe hiking gear won't ship and don't give me answers. Been over 20 days, they just took my money...
