I'm 43. I use the Agency on my face, and sparingly on my neck. Would the MaeLove or Naturium be a good choice to try? In regards to neck care, do you feel the tret/retin-a is the best route to go? I do have the Omnilux (just the face piece) and a Nuface. Use the Omnilux religiously and love it!

Hi Angie, I’ve never commented before on your channel ( shy haha) but I wanted to share something with you… through my research, I’ve learned that when using lasers, you really only want to go to a board certified dermatologist with a fellowship in lasers. It may take a hot minute to find one but it’s worth it! I would do this over a surgeon. You would think they may know more than even a dermatologist but no, their expertise is surgery not derm and not lasers. I have seen many times in my research, where surgeons have caused serious damage from either settings that are too aggressive or bc of the anesthetic , that in turn Dr went too hard and burned. Laser fellowship is the way to go. My 2 cents- live your videos! Thank you!!!

Hi Angie and friends - I’m a little older (just turned 63) and have been following most of what you recommend here for about 7 or 8 years now. Like you, in many ways my skin looks better now than it did in my early 50s. People always think I’m much younger than my age - yes, it’s good genes, but it’s even more good skincare! I’m so glad that my kids got into skin care in their 20s, including religiously wearing SPF. Thanks for continuing to bring us all the great, science based recommendations!

Thank you Angie! I love the science and data behind the products. You look fantastic and you’re smart! Ladies should also know that generic tretinoin is so much cheaper than any other branded product like Agency or other expensive products. If you’re doing an annual skin check then your derm can give you a prescription then. Even some primary care physicians will give you a prescription for generic trentinoin.

I’m almost 61 and just started on prescription tretinoin a few months ago. Looks like I should have started several years ago. I have used Paula’s Choice retinol products for at least 10 years so hopefully that’s given me a head start. The red light masks sound encouraging but I’ve read so many reviews where the device stops working shortly after the warranty period. That’s a lot of money for something that doesn’t last. I’d say that the Botox gave you a huge head start on reducing your wrinkles but unfortunately the majority of us can’t afford these procedures or at home devices so won’t see the wrinkle improvements you have.

Such great advices, Angie! I am using 5 out of 6 methods: tretinoint, sunscreen, Botox, sleeping pillows, and thinking to get my first LED mask. One thing that I will suggest to add is the castor oil around the eye area, and beauty sleep.

My Omnilux mask lasted just over the two year warranty period. I took exceptional care of my mask. I think it was designed to only last two years! Others have experienced the same thing. Also, I have to charge the glove now every other time I use it! I would NEVER consider a repurchase of this brand. A lot of money spent and wasted. Recently, there have been some great new masks that have just come out i.e. Dr. Rajani’s new mask and also Maysama’s new mask. It has been a while since a collective review has been done on LED masks. Influencers should consider providing us with an updated review.

How close do you have to have it to your face for it to work? The top part of the mask fits my forehead but the lower strap seems to keep it off the skin of my lip area which is what I want to treat. Does it have to be right smack up against the skin to be effective?
@annshave96186 ай бұрын
@@kmcdani2 the mask should be no more than 1/4 inch from your face. I use clips to pull the bottom strap upward so that it’s tight against my chin. I plan on purchasing either Dr. Rajani‘s Mask which includes a section of lights for underneath the chin or Maysama’s Mask because it has the best strap.

Actually, a panel is better than a mask. The mito pro 300 has better specs. You can turn off NIR, use only NIR, and set the timer up to 30 minutes. It comes with a stand, but you can add more panels, buying a different stand. The mito pro also does your face and your neck. There is no need for 2 separate devices. The Omnilux face mask always slipped off my face, I had to lay down while using. The neck and chest mask caused a lot of wrinkles. The hand mask now requires charging nightly. The hand is the only Omnilux device I use.

RE: Sunscreen. You are so right Angie. There was NOTHING but Coppertone when we were kids. My mother, A NURSE, took a photo of my on a summer family vacation at Myrtle Beach, in a bikini whe made for me, and I was red as a lobster. Why didn't she give me a shirt, even? I can't even count all the sunburns I suffered. Every summer. Every vacation. They were painful! I remember my aunt giving me wet teabags to drag over my arms and legs to soothe a sunburn. This all culminated in a pre melanoma being removed from my scapula in my late 20s. EVEN my dermatologist didn't suggest SPF at that point. He basically just said I should stay out of the sun. At the time there was little in the way of online shopping, but somehow, I got sales catalogs from companies like SUN PRECAUTIONS. Every year I'd buy one more expensive UPF shirt. One more expensive UPF 50 hat. Of course, now I source my SPFs from places like France and Sweden, where they have MODERN and ELEGANT SPFs that are a joy to apply. Darn it. I was born too freaking soon. But still, even in the World Wars, they developed Red Vet Pet to keep the soldiers from burning. You can still get a version of this under a different name, but when I was researching this a while back I wondered if I had been living under a rock. There were some news stories, in places you wouldn't thing to look, but now it's everywhere. You can't turn your head without someone or some ad proclaiming the advantages of sunscreen. Still and all, I know a LOT of people WHO STILL DON'T WEAR IT.

Don't be too hard on yourself.... we thought burning & peeling was the fastest way to get tan because once we got tan we didnt' burn any more (that summer anyway)... we actually thought it was good for our skin!! But we didn't know what we didn't know.

Absolutely tretinoin is the gold star standard for collagen build, for plumping and overall texture improvements. However, the laser procedures you’ve had have absolutely tightened your skin thus minimizing dynamic and expression lines throughout your face-there is a benefit even to the areas not directly treated. I think many people that have had laser treatments need to emphasize that the benefits of tightening thus smoothing are exceptional.
@AngieHotandFlashy6 ай бұрын
Just to be perfectly clear, it's laser treatment singular, not treatments ie: I had 1 Fraxel laser treatment 8 years ago on my face. Yes lasers are powerful and as I said in the video, results from this type of treatment will be more significant in a much shorter amount of time than with skincare.

@AngieHotandFlashy6 ай бұрын
I've heard many people are concerned about devices melting fat from the face so I asked the device makers and they say they the home devices don't get hot enough to melt fat. Some professional devices can get hot enough, but Fraxel laser shouldn't if your provider knows which settings to use that don't melt fat.

I don't usually thing there's a need for a separate eye cream but this one will contain prescription tretinoin so I'd say it could be great for people who don't use tretinoin already or those who need a gentler prescription for the eye area.

I know it's not skin care per se, but I really like Paula's Choice body wash/shampoo. Finding a good fragrance free shampoo has been a life saver.

Hi Angie! Thank you so much for the continued well-researched, trustworthy, invaluable content! It is so appreciated!! Could you possibly cover some of the latest, most promising in-office treatments? Lasers, collagen induction injectables, peelings, etc. For instance, I've just heard great things about a laser called UltraClear and would love to hear your meticulously well-researched opinion. These treatments are usually an investment and it would be great to hear from a trustworthy source. Thank you!!❤

Hi Angie! I have learned so much from you and really appreciate all of your testing and knowledge. It has changed my skin so much. I am 67 and I spent many hours lying out in the sun unprotected too. I have a question. I remember you changing from Botox to Dysport. Do you still use Dysport? I have been getting that type for some time now and I love it. Thank you for all you do!!!
@AngieHotandFlashy6 ай бұрын
I do still use Dysport when I remember to ask for it specifically... not sure which she uses if I don't specify tho... 🤦🏼♀😆

I read about vit c and the serums that were really expensive you had to do a premixing before applying to the skin because vit c is water soluble and breaks down quickly. And I read that after being dissolved in water for awhile it actually acts as a prooxidant, and causes free radical damage. They say its specially formulated now to prevent that, but I guess I dont really trust that. I dont know how they would change its water solubility. It seems like the difference btw retinol and a prescription retinoid. So I bought a container of powdered vit c from amazon and I use a small amount like a pinch, with a facial oil, and it dissolves enough to not be gritty, and still give me that glow after wearing overnight. And bonus its super inexpensive. My favorite oils are rosehip oil (which naturally has some vit c) and camellia oil which has (vit e). Vit c is a skin sensitizer, so you dont want to wear this during the day, and if you are using at night wear sunscreen during the day. It can increase sun spot and skin cancer risk without sunscreen use.

I was able to view your video the other day, happy you got it up and running right now! Did you know they have discontinued the Elements w/ a new one? Just curious if you’ve tried it yet or not?! I’m pretty bummed because that was my holy grail!

I didn't have a falling out with them but they've been having a separation issue with the sunscreen I love... they thought they had it fixed but my last bottle separated and I've heard from so many viewers who've had bottles that separated too so I though it better to recommend other faves in this video. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out soon!

I’m glad you mentioned this. I returned a bottle back to Target recently because I thought it was old or something. It makes sense now. Maybe the formulation changed when they added new tints. Either way, thank you for always having our backs. I appreciate all your hard work and dedication.

I have the NIRA device but stopped using it. I was using it all over my face which took awhile; later it dawned on my that it won't help the rest of my face because the skin is thicker. Will begin using the NIRA soon. FIRST, I have decided to get a facial; not just any facial. The drug for the facial has been FDA approved (not "cleared" which doesn't mean much) called PRX-t33. This is 33% TCA plus hydrogen peroxide plus kojic acid. What is suppose to happen is no peeling, okay to be in the sun but of course wear SPF. They place this on your face (neck and dec if you wish); it then goes through to the dermis without the peeling due to H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). They can do this with microneedling. I have chosen to go with EXCEED and this is the only one that has been FDA cleared for everything else PLUS wrinkles. Not sure yet how many it will take but I don't plan on going past 3 at this time - depends on how this turns out. They will probably have a package which I will purchase for maintenance. This is suppose to last anywhere from 6 months to over a year.

Thanks for sharing your plan! It sounds like you’re exploring various treatments for your skin. The NIRA devices work by gently heating the papillary region of the dermis to stimulate collagen production and it’s not affected by skin thickness. If you decide to continue with NIRA after your facial treatments, it can complement the results you achieve.

Thanks, Angie. I saw that you reviewed my favorite, Colorescience Sunforgettables Flex SPF 50 back in 2022, but I haven't seen it addressed yet, that this sunscreen also protects against blue light and infrared. That's my first reason for choosing it. (Is there an alternative to Colorescience for these features?) My second reason is the excellent color match (medium for me, too), and while it does seem a bit shiny, it's more like a glow as it dries down. You pointed out that it shined through your makeup, but I think it also looked more like a glow on you as well (at least, in a video). I recently went back to loose and pressed mineral foundations, and "shine" is much less an issue. (I have hacks and better skincare that successfully addressed the way these foundations can look crinkly under the eyes). Anyway, I wondered what you and others like, maybe Dr. Dray, might think of the infrared and blue light protection of the Colorescience Sunforgettable line, and how much of a plus this is. The color sticks in this line are really nice, too, I just discovered. And yes, the powder brush version is good for touch ups. Also, you might already know, but some of your links are broken or sold out, such as the Olay Ultra Regenerist Fragrance Free on various sites. (Right now, Walmart has it $5 off, by the way). I love the e.l.f. Holy Hydration Fragrance Free that you mentioned, but have always been afraid of Olay's newer creams for some reason. When they started coming out with peptide serums, one of them made me break out. Another one irritated my skin. Still, I might give the Olay version you like a try. With some anxiety. Next up is the Medicube Ussera Deep Shot, and their EMS Shot devices. I own both. I learned I wasn't using them to their full effect a couple of years ago before a decent how-to video showed up. Now I'm following the videos with both devices and eager to see what happens in the way of tightening and lifting. I had to sort of invent my own forehead routine for the Deep Shot as they don't show that, but say you can use it there. There's a lot of misinformation and disinformation surrounding these devices, but I think I have been able to tease out most of the truths. Ussera Deep Shot: Medicube answered my E-mail and they say it uses high frequency ultrasound, not to be confused with radiofrequency. I thought the frequencies might overlap, qualifying it as a radiofrequency device, but they do not confirm this. (I looked up what is considered "radio frequency" and it does look like there's a tiny bit of overlap, but whatever!) The EMS shot is different from the NuFace in that it exercises muscles more intensely, but is said to deplete ATP rather than encourage its production. So I'm not sure how this one is going to work out, but I'm trying it anyway, because of its reputation in Korea. Any thoughts on high frequency ultrasound devices? Just-barely-radiofrequency devices? EMS devices? Thanks!
