Hi everyone! We want to remind you this is our experience at the hotel. We are sharing this experience to help you make your decision when traveling to the Disneyland Resort. You can have a completely different experience then we had at Lulu. Don't base your decision in our experience alone. Please conduct more research on each hotel you are looking to stay at. Look at the recent reviews on trip advisor to see if there are any negative or positive trends. This will help you determine if the hotel/motel is right for you.

Thank you! Hotels can have off days just like people do. We hope this experience helps but also encourage everyone to read trip advisor reviews and see what overall trends are at the hotel. For example, if you look at Cambria from summer of 2020 the reviews are awful. There was a massive fight that required about 100 police officers to break up (I think it was 100). A few months ago, we checked the reviews of the Cambria and the trending was positive; although we aren't to sure if we want to stay there based on the events of last summer.

The Hyatt House is on our radar of places to stay we just aren't sure which trip we can stay there. We do have the next couple already planned out. We might make some adjustments on our next trip because of the expense of one of the rooms. Now that annual passes are coming back we might make some quick trips down in the area as well.

Waffles the cat...He plays fetch and he is well mannered but he is a talker. He is so loud too! Glad you enjoyed the experience, I had to watch your parking video to remember what this hotel was before the Red Lion, you drive right by it and it was the Radisson.

We stayed here last weekend. Our room door didn’t close either. We had to push it hard in order for it to close. The room was pretty warm too. (Even with the AC on) The water pressure was so bad. Our room seemed clean but then under the desk we found trash and someone’s Minnie ears. Over all the best part for us was the beds and the view of the park and the walk to the park. Staff was super friendly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The staff at the hotel are incredibly nice and attentive. The walk to the park isn't bad at all and very doable for most people. To miss cleaning up Minnie ears and trash is a biggie along with maintenance issues. This hotel has a ton of potential and we are hoping these issues get fixed.

Awesome! We can't wait for the new passes either. We probably won't go again until we can get a pass, now that they are announced. Because we mostly have to go on the weekends, we have to get one of the more expensive levels.

I Love Hotel Lulu I've stayed there 3 times and always had a good visit. I plan to stay there again in the future

Great news! Our room was in disrepair and shouldn't have been rented out. However, we are happy to hear positive things come from Lulu. We gave it an honorable mention in our Top 10 Walking Distance Hotels video. We have been hearing a lot of positive reviews since we stayed there. The price point is typically really good for the area, the beds were comfy, and the walk isn't bad.

Hi! We checked reviews and while some are a little bit mixed, they are trending positive. We did find the staff to be super friendly and helpful, so if you do run into any issues, I would contact them right away. We stayed in the south building and we are thinking we might have had a better stay in the building with the lobby. We hope you have a fantastic stay and a wonderful vacation with your family! Oh no! The pot and cleaner aroma combo is not good. Appreciate your honest opinion on this property. A little extra security would have been nice. Sounds like a place we’d prefer to skip. Thanks so much guys!

Awesome, we love Howard Johnson. Just be sure your reservation is in Building 1 or 2. Those are the newly remodeled buildings. The older rooms are dated but still very comfortable.

@@AnaheimParkTourist yes supposedly I reserved in bulding 1, but I got a email that tells me I have to call an make a reservation for the pool and castaway cove for 2 hour

There are a lot of pool restrictions at the surrounding resorts. 2 hours is quite a bit of time and the kids should have an amazing time.

Always check the most recent reviews reviews on Trip Advisor and Yelp and follow the common trends in the reviews. Things can change at any hotel with staff changes. We do believe that Best Western is trying their best to turn this property around and it can take time. We were disappointed with our experience at Lulu. The price point is decent for the area and it isn't a bad walk. We think with a little bit of work Lulu can be a good place to stay. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment.

Hotels are tough. They can have good and bad days. We always encourage people research multiple sources of information and not base their decision on our one experience. Always check Trip Advisor and yelp and follow the trends.

Our experience might be different than what other people experiences. We always encourage people to look at the Yelp and Trip Advisor reviews and pay attention to the review trends over the last few months. Things can get better or worse at a hotel. Lulu has a lot of potential but it was not the hotel for us. If you are looking for something similar the Wyndham Anaheim and Indigo are nicer hotels, includes free parking, but may have a slightly higher. Other nice motels to check out that are on the "budget" (I use that term loosely since the hotels are expensive) side Alpine Inn and Hotel 414. We have videos published on all the hotels but 414. We really liked hotel 414 when we stayed there recently but it is a bit further out. We expect that video to be published in 2-3 weeks. If you have any questions about hotels we can try to help you out the best we can.

Would this be a good hotel to stay at with children under 9 yrs? Also we might be leaving to go back to the hotel at certain points and was wondering if this would be an issue if we were planning on not walking

We think the hotel is geared more to 20-30 year old's. However, that doesn't mean young children can't stay at Lulu. We saw a number of babies and their parents there. As far as transportation, it is about a 12 minute walk to get to the harbor entrance and another 5-7 minutes to the front gates of Disneyland. You do have the option of taking rideshare, ART (if not mistaken, ART has a stop in the area), or you can just walk over to the Toy Story lot and take a shuttle from there. Just note, depending on the time of day you might have to wait in a security line. All shuttles are crowded with long lines at the end of the night. When our kids were young, we didn't want to deal with folding up strollers and taking a shuttle. During this time, we exclusively stayed at hotels right across the street from the Harbor Entrance. It minimizes walking time for the children not in strollers and much more convenient. The closest hotels are not bad, Tropicana, Park Vue, Best Western Mini Suites, Best Wester + Anaheim Inn, your budget option is Desert Inn and Suites. Wow, that is a big price difference and it might not be worth it staying there for that much more. We didn't have the best experience at Lulu. However, that doesn't mean you will have a similar experience. I would look at Trip Advisor and see what the most recent reviews are like if you are leaning that way. Take in mind parking is $25 a night. Another option we recently stayed at is a hotel on Katella and Harbor, the Alpine Inn. We were pleasantly surprised how nice that motel is. We will be putting out the video in the near future. They have free parking and it is about 10 minute walk to the Harbor Entrance.

Review doesn’t sound too bad at all. Seems reasonably priced to be so close to Disneyland. The AC unit is probably my biggest issue haha😅

Overall it wasn't bad especially if you get the room at a decent price. Noisy AC units drive us a bit crazy! I would suggest trying to get a room in the main tower, it seems like it might be a bit better over there.

When we stayed, we didn't have time to check out the pool, we had to hurry back to a Blue Bayou reservation.. We saw a number of people going to and from and people looked like they were having a nice time.

What is the difference between an experience and a review? Perhaps... not grading it with a score or letter? Other than that, is seems you reviewed your experience. Kinda the same thing??

Technically it is a review of our stay. However, we don't want to give a rating and thats why we say it is not a review. People have different expectations in a hotel; I have a friend who stays at one of the cheapest motels in Anaheim. He goes there to only sleep a few hours and it suits him and his wife fine. If someone was to review it, it would probably get 1 to 2 stars on your typical scale. However, based on his experience, his budget, and his wants it is a perfect hotel for the two of them. Additionally, a lot has to do with the noise level of other guests in the hotel. We had a terrible stay last year at Springhill (we got a refund). The hotel was fine, the crowd at the time was not. Our goal is to point out the good and the bad of each place (spoiler alert!!! we have a high end hotel which was far from perfect coming in the near future). We want to stay neutral and share that experience. What bothers me might not bother you and vice versa. That way when people book hotels, they can use our experience to help. We want to avoid any bias as much as possible. Does this make sense? Thanks, -Jim

Hi! We actually answered this very question for someone else yesterday. We did read recent reviews, while the reviews are a bit mixed, they are mostly trending positive. Someone had a similar issue as us with a door and a number of customer service issues. While we did have some problems, we do believe it has improved since we stayed there. We encourage you to check out Trip Advisor. We stayed in the south building and are thinking the lobby building is probably a better building to stay in. I would request a room there. If you have issues, it appears as though the staff will try to fix any problems.

We know the Red Lion had a huge following and was very popular. We always wanted to check it out but never did due to the pet policies. One of our sons is highly allergic to all dogs, to the point he will break out in hives if he enters a space where a dog once was. Fortunately, he is slowly outgrowing this allergy. As always, don't use use this video as a single source for making a decision. Check Trip Advisor and Yelp reviews to spot good or bad trends. Things can change rapidly at any hotel based on management or staff changes. I do believe Best Western is trying make positive changes at Lulu and I would continue to follow the reviews and see what others are saying.

Neat explanation of your experience, but you spent a collective minute on just the hair in the tub/crumbs under the desk, and completely glossed over the cocktail lounge and swimming pool 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi there, Cleanliness of rooms is one of the most important things for people staying at a hotel, hence the time given. The cocktail lounge was closed when we attempted to go there, there was no feedback to give. We did not use the pool when we stayed since we had a busy day planned. We did not film the pool since it was full of people. The pool is a standard pool with tables, chairs, and loungers. There was bar service there as well when we stayed. We stayed there when many of the strict covid restrictions were in place and many of the amenities closed earlier or had shortened hours. Thank you for the feedback.

Hopefully they have a wonderful stay. We do feel like this hotel has a ton of potential. There are other hotels in the area that are cheaper but they have a fairly bad reputation. This hotel has a good price point and isn't too far away.
