Jon builds sinks for tiny people above counter that prevents them from standing next to the sink, then puts googly eyes over it. Getting to the toilet paper requires dislocating your spine or turning sideways on the toilet. Like... it's pretty much what I expected.

From the terribly mismatched bathroom tile, to the hilariously low sinks, to the googly eyes mirrors, I'm not even halfway through the video and this is already a hilariously terrible excursion in hotel design. I want all the videos of this game.

Completely unrelated to the video, I still love the stinger where Jon's freaking out in joy and amazement that butter packaging has little marks for how much butter it is so you can cut off measurements even though that's been on butter and cream cheese for as long as I've been alive. It's so fun watching someone find wonder in something that mundane.

That bedroom looks disturbingly like an 80s love hotel. All it needs is the big mirror across the wall or ceiling so you can see yourself in action.

I don't know how to describe the room, there are some brilliant design choices mixed with highly questionable ones.

This hotel could actually be a huge success. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, just to prove that I wasn't lying.

29:05 Oh I've been in lots of hotels where you don't have a desk in your room. Weirdly, the higher end the hotel the less likely it is to have a desk. And Frustratingly, it is almost impossible to tell ahead of time whether or not there will be a desk in the room. I _wish_ hotels thought desks weren't an extra, but they absolutely do.

Someone made the lighting system a bit too fancy. It's a good effect to have in, say, an adventure game. You step out of a cave, the sun is shining bright, too bright, and the screen subtly adjusts so it's more normal like. The effect on an indoor setting means that you place a lamp to light it up, the game says "Bright light!" and dims the lighting, making the room darker the more lights you put in. I'm a big fan of the ambient occlusion, though!

A master class in classical British interior design

Jon, modern games used HDR rendering... That means, they simulate your eyes adapting to your environment getting brighter/darker. As you can see many games get it wrong.

The fact that the little things in games makes Jon gush is one of the best selling points for a game.

Aesthetics aside, having to walk through the palm leaves to get to one side of the bed, toilet roll holder back breakingly behind the toilet, low sinks, nowhere to put a suitcase, low shelves above the toilet to crack your head into...

I now understand that people like Jon are the reason that whenever I visit a hotel it is like an affront to my feeble eyeballs.

I am deeply concerned that jon thinks a Bathroom with 2 Giant Eye's staring at him every time he enters is considered Normal.

You know i'd be half tempted to have MATN decorate my boutique hotel :p its gloriously over the top. It does look like a room you'd rent by the hour though.

This was a lot of fun and looks like a nice way of expressing your creativity. I may not agree with your color choices, but there were a number of nice touches in the room. It's also nice to have a calm, non-murderous game as a change of pace. If you do a live stream of this game (which would be awesome) some things to consider to add to the fun: 1. Claire having no say in decisions you make unless they involve plants. She has to watch in awe and anticipation, just like the rest of us. (Maybe on a non-work night, so she can drink?) 2. Taking a vote on whether the robot is: an owl, a penguin, or some other bird. 3. Having people drop suggestions for potential room themes, since you seemed to really like making a "love" room.

So the style that Jon has decorated that room in is quite close to what's known as "Cocaine Décor", so called because when it emerged in the 70s that was the stimulant of choice.

I was wondering why the rooms looked so familiar and shitty design - only to realize it is quite similar to the Holiday Inn I stay at around Memphis! Only a few times (I travel for work often). It hit me right at 20:30 where it looks almost exactly like it. To the left would be a small "kitchen" with a microwave and a mini fridge and counter top. The bathroom is in the same place, but definitely not designed by Jon. Large desk to hold a decent sized T.V. along the left wall and a Queen sized bed to the right wall. Only one bed. Though larger rooms may have two Queen Sized beds. Generally this hotel is great to stay in if you aren't doing a long trip. It's cozy, clean, nice. Downstairs would be breakfast and dinner served at its own restaurant, but it's meh. Bar too. Residence Inn is completely different style and Homewood Suites kinda shares the same style as Residence Inn, I say this cuz I try to remember Homewood and it honestly blended in my mind with Residence Inn, nothing unique or standing out. They are relatively smaller but at least offer a full kitchen (Stove top for cooking). If you get some special rooms, you also get an oven, fireplace (let's be honest it is for show), and two bedrooms with doors and own bathrooms. I'll be honest, I'm not quite interested in this game after seeing a little bit. Maybe it offers just enough content to get it.

I liked the bathroom. Once Jon started adding pink to the edges by the windows only that's when I knew it was about to go downhill. Even with that considered, I think there were some good things Jon added after that

I'd love to see more of this in livestreams, seems like the perfect game for it :)
