IRON DRY With the iron dry setting, laundry is left slightly damp to make light work of ironing your garments. The downside is that you’ll need to iron the clothes straight away for maximum effectiveness. HANGER DRY The hanger dry setting is ideal for items like sweatshirts, which don’t require ironing. Any light creases will drop out when your washing is hung up. CUPBOARD DRY This setting ensures your laundry is dry enough to put away immediately.

I know this vlog was posted years ago, but I have to say although Hotpoint isn’t for everyone. My previous Hotpoint lasted 12 years, even then I only changed it because I wanted a new machine!! Who knows it may have gone on for longer. I must point out, they are so easy to service. I now have the Hotpoint twin dose machine which is a dream, it’s so quiet it’s amazing. I really like Miele, but I couldn’t justify £1600 for a machine !! So I saved £1000 just by buying the Hotpoint twin dose. Love your vlogs btw 😃

I never thought I'd end up watching a video on how to operate a washing machine, but as we had just purchased a house with one of those machines, and my dear wife had attacked the washing machine with a cleaner, and wiped the programme info right off, we were at a loss as to what was what. You mention not having the instructions. We have them but they didn't show the programme info! So ..... you kept us amused and it's obvious you have done this sort of demo before ... well done, but you may consider getting a life :-) Thanks for the info, and we are ready to wash. I really like that older generation of Hotpoint / Ariston / Indesit scrubber driers ... They were so intuitive and easy to use.

Please note, do not put a baby in the washing machine. I was joking when I said that the baby programme is for washing babies.

My parents had a made in the uk Hotpoint when I was a kid. It must have lasted 20+ years. I purchased a Hotpoint when I bought my first house. Little did I know what had happened to the company. It lasted about 3 years. I have a Miele now which I am very happy with.

yes ariston did start the trend, some indesit machine had them too (mainly the intergrated ones). Ready to wear is a wash and dry in 60 minutes, dose it at 30'c. approx 25 minut wash followed by approx 35 minute dry if your doing colourds 40'c. and set to 90'c, it will be carried out at 40'c

The temp dial is to reduce the temp of the set cycle and the slow spin was not staying on as the dryer dial was on a dry setting

I do know what the "ready to wear" programme is, it is a programme to where the washing, rinsing, an spinning combined: takes an hour and it does the drying process right afterwords to whatever drying option you selected.

This is my old washing machine and we changed into a LG washer so I liked this vid for respect for my old washing machine

I put a wash in last night around 11pm at number 1 and super wash. It is STILL going at 9.30 this morning. I dread to see the electric bill. 😫 I cannot get to grips with this machine. Every setting is 4 hours plus

right basicaclily u have to select the tempature the same or lower from the drawer if its a higher tempature it will not start

Hi can u tell me the fastest wash time setting. Sometimes we need to wash fast so I could not understand the timings. 60 minutes r too much for fast wash

ready to wear is a program where you can wash a shirt which you haven't worn in a long time. The program just washes it on cold, rinses and spins. Hope this helps☺

@precious Kitty My washer is similar and it takes 1 hour and 25 minutes mine is a Hotpoint WMF740 washer but one advantage of mine is that it has a timer which counts down to zero. It is the same noise level as this but I don't mind it as I am used to noisy machines xD also mine is a 1400 spin Hotpoint washer too WMF740P

HELP!!!!! how do you simply hot cotton wash on this piece of C*** without any dry cycle, thanks to these washer dryers the black mould issues are appauling moving into rentals, just moved in :( trying to rid this contraption of the built up immovable mold!!! that dryer dial is hard to understand, no > OFF < plus the damn hotpoint manual doesnt even explain symbols, goes on n on about drying only but how do you WASH ONLY pleeeeeeeeeease not pressed ON yet, have it set to 90degrees 140 spin and currently the dry dial on the shining sun symbol?!

i let he hose fall off on my washer drier ,whilst it was empting , now the machine is dead ,no powe , wall fuse is fine , any ideas what is the problem xx

This machine has a 1200rpm you can tell coz its a WDL520 if it had a 1400rpm spin it would be a WDL540 and I think you get the rest. Its from around 2008/2009 also it probably was made in Wales as it has the WMA drum in 2009 they moved production so these aren't as bad as you think these are actually really good machines and were the last good Hotpoints before they became worse.

People commenting seem to forget when they are condemning the quality of these machines that generally they are o.k. and suit millions of households and considering you can buy 4 of these for 1 Miele is it not surprising that people have to make do! Lower end washing machine's you buy today cost less than they did over £20 year's ago so they won't be of the same quality of build.

Please can you tell me how long it take to complete the whole cycle which you set the programme. Because I have recently moved into a furnished house and the same machine is this house and it takes 4 hours to complete the whole cycle. Can you please guide me or share your experience for short period for wash and dry.

I had this model and it lasted less than 4 months in my house. I hated it that much I gave it away. noisy. never washed very well and after the spin you could still wring water from the clothes...

The main wash is the smaller compartment the washer is a nightmare. I used the dryer and it over heats damaging and over creasing my clothes really badly. 🤦‍♂️

The reason the slow spin didn't work at the beginning of the video is because that function doesn't work with slow spin well thats what i think anyway.

every time i do a wash they are coming out covered in white marks,i only put small amount of soap powder in and also washed without powder and still comes out white how can i resolve this
