It is Crazy how we can not have a customer background wallpaper. That is my #1 pet peeve with carplay.

@@LarryAdair Not even just the inability for custom backgrounds, but the fact Apple change them each year. I found one I loved a few years ago and I’ve not like any since.

I just want Waze to automatically stop on my iPhone after disconnecting from CarPlay. That would be nice. Hopefully this bug has been fixed.

Apple Maps has a satellite overlay. It would be great if this was an option in Apple CarPlay. Just another reason why I prefer Google Maps, over Apple Maps.

I didn't know people actually used the satellite overlay. It's way too complicated for me when I'm just trying to find my exit. 🤣

@forgedroblox Yeah satellite view isn’t great for navigation… that’s why Apple Maps uses the 3D models instead because you get a simple but representative view of building shapes

@@Xackory Actually, I use it all the time. That's one reason why I prefer to use Google Maps, because it offers a satellite view. It's very useful when you are in an unfamiliar location, and can zoom in and actually see parking lots, building shapes, colors, etc.

If you set the Appearance to Automatic, and then go to the Now Playing screen, is it still in dark mode when playing any media, or is it back in light mode with black text and black media buttons?

You could always record music while recording video. The way around the music pausing would be to have to photo mode open and then to slide the shutter up so it switches to video

Just wondering @HotshotTek, have you experienced your wireless carplay disconnecting at a specific area of town, without fail, every single time? I just got an aftermarket pioneer that has both wired/wireless carplay and I have noticed so far 2 areas of Las Vegas where it disconnects my wireless carplay from my iPhone 12 Pro max. Also this question can be answered by anyone else who is watching this video. Keep up the great work!

My CarPlay doesn’t have a battery level icon on it. Why is that? Can it depend on car manufacturer?

It depends on the manufacturer. This works the same way with third party head units too. The one I have in my SUV will not show the battery icon. But in my friend’s SUV it will show the battery icon.

It's manufacturer decision. I have Volkswagen and is wired only but it shows the battery icon.@@Motinhox
