nice quick tutorial :) Thanks!

white water simulation looks great. but! its intensively cache heavy. more over, consider that in most ocean shots the typical idea is that the vessel is out to see with a long wake trailing behind the vessel in every shot. well.. in order to get that long trailing wake, you must simulate that distance or every shot with start with the wake only generating at the start of the shot. meaning in order to have long wakes you must do LONG cached out simulations preceding the zone of which you would begin your shot. The better solution is to fake the longer white water wake behind the vessel. i faced this very issue and devised that very solution on a film a few years back. the scenes called for a roro vessel out to sea, and i looked into using bifrost. but in no way did it simulate fast enough to tackle long standing wakes. chewing up terabytes of cached memory. and if anything wasnt quite right, ya had to start it all over again. way too time consuming. so i faked the wake, with 3d animated wake imagery and displacing the water. worked out great . no one was the wiser.

This is excellent. Really really useful for my work and a clear visual breakdown of oceans. Would be good to see your method to export all of this to a different programme

Chayawat! thanks for sharing this. I would like to know what to do with the texture file that has no termination (ej: .png) it's just "TEXTURE"

It 's amazing! Thank you so much for the share. I'm trying to download the file for reference. It seems the file cannot open. I don't know why. Could you please have a look at it?

the tutorial was very good, but I miss a detail, you did not apply the VDB on the boat, so that the surface no had a better collision with the particles.
@chayawatpornratpan32785 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for the suggestion. It's very good point because my simulation still have some particles leak to inside the ship.

Can any body help me out from one doubt In this I'm not getting option called multiple geometri cache Plz help me. If u know guys
@tariq05134 жыл бұрын
Do you mean to say that you cannot cache out a sequence? If so, remember to select the 'Save Frame Range' option and have it from Frame 1 to Frame end. If you mean that you cannot see (as the uploder does) where it says 'Multiple Frame', i believe that is how it shows up on a Mac, but you may be using a Windows machine and so will not have this option. The above is the solution.

It’s so funny how people constantly make the same mistake with ships because they don’t really look at reference. The flags at the top don’t fall back as if they’re on a car. A ship uses wind to move forward. The flags fly with the wind, not against it.

You really can't call it a tutorial if you don't explain anything. This is just watching you make a scene.

THE GOD DAMN FLAGS ARE THE WRONG WAY! - Flags go with the Wind! Do you people learn nothing in elementary school???? IF the boat is fairly fast you might add a SLIGHT velocity vector of the boat. But a Sailboat in general Flags go same direction as Wind blows and Sails are billowing! in Your case Forward! God damn this annoys me - Its really rare, even in blockbuster shows/movies to see this done correctly
