My grandmother passed away last year in her 80’s. One of the last stories she told me was about how she love to go to Coney Island. Her father would take her in to Manhattan for work and then afterwards they would go to Coney Island. Thanks Jordan!

Sending you condolences for losing your Gramma. Mine was my very best friend. And she tragically lost her life 4 year's ago. At the age of 94. Thank you for sharing her memory.

I was visiting my daughters family in Manhattan. She said we were going to some aquarium for the day. I had no idea where we were driving. We went through this aquarium place and walked into another part and I was standing there on the deck, looking down the long deck along the beach and realized I was at Coney Island. I was beside myself. I came up very poor and as a child Coney Island was a dream place. I grew out of it of course and never gave it any thoughts as an adult. Then without notice I was standing there. It was a overwhelming personal moment in life, in such a wonderful way. My childhood dream rose within me with excitement and watery eyes of joy. I spoiled my Grandson rotten that day on Coney Island.

Jordan, please tell James thank you from all of us who were able to see even MORE of your trip to NY because of him. What a nice guy! I am very grateful for today's vlog, and even MORE grateful that you didn't take us on the Cyclone while I was eating breakfast. A wondeful, funfilled vlog and you are so kind to do this for all of us. Have a great weekend, WHEREVER you are today.

Many years ago my daughter rode an hour in the subway to Coney Island. Of course we went to the original Nathan’s. At that time there was talk of closing Coney Island and am glad that did not happen. Such a New York tradition. Thanks for another great vlog.

Jordan how I wish I can take you back in time to 1966. I was living there on west 25 st. My cousin worked at Coney Island. So I rode the rides for free. A different Coney Island back then. I used to skip school and hung out at the arcades with my friends. Lol arcades, sides shows etc. You would of loved it!! I went back a few years ago. I was very dissappointed. Of course everything changes yet it brought back a lot of memories of me and my dad having fun. Miss you dad!! And I was shocked to see tourist. Back in the day was mostly locals.

One of my nicest NY memories was the day I decided to finally see Coney Island. It was a beautiful day and I ended up spending the whole afternoon at the park and the museum, followed by a Cyclones game at that beautiful ball park. Their score board was shaped like the roller coaster and you could look past it and see the real Cyclone running in the distance. It was a beautiful, perfect day! Even the subway ride was fun. A really great day!

There's a pub in the East Village (near St. Mark's Place) called McSorley's (since 1850). Rumor is that Houdini entered and there was an NYC cop there, who wanted to see if Houdini could really escape handcuffs. He did. There is a pair of them attached to the bar and the story goes that those are the same handcuffs.

Interesting note, Coney Island was originally 3 small islands just off shore and at the time of the land purchase with the Dutch and Indian nation of Manhattan the islands where given to Gysbert Updyke for his work in the negotiations. Manhattan was a fort for the Dutch Trading Company until later conquered by the British. Gysbert’s main home was near Battery Park on Stone Street, called such because it was paved in stones and Battery Park was the fort set up with cannons to defend the settlers.

🦁 Jordan, on one of my trips trying to get back to Newark airport, I went the wrong direction and ended up in Coney Island. It was a time when Coney Island was closed down due to the storm destroying the board walk and it was SCARY!!! All I kept on saying, “How the FUDGE do I get the Heck out of here.” It is nice to see that Coney Island no longer looks desolate and it is reopened. Another, Great Video. 👏👍👏
