I explain why we chose LP Smartside Diamond Kote Ridgidstack lap siding for our Legacy Block ICF House and show the installation process of the trim and siding. #siding #sidinginstallation #greenbuilding

I like it Tony. When the day comes to replace our vinyl I believe we will go with that.

It would be a good choice. It's more expensive than vinyl but the lifespan and damage resistance of the product, I think, makes it worth the expense. It's pretty easy to work with and, if necessary, you could install it by yourself. That was a big part of our decision since I was having a problem finding someone who was willing to install siding on the Legacy Block so I needed something I could install if necessary.

Progress! Your workers are amazing and skilled. I see some rock going up. How much of house will be rock? Looks beautiful.

Yes, things are moving along. They did a good job and had to figure out how to correct some problems that weren't of their making. The bottom floor is going to be rock. Basically, all of the pink below the siding will have a stone exterior.

Looks great, I like it. How hail resistant is it? Will damage be easy to repair?

Thanks, Rick. We're happy with how it turned out. The manufacturer says it's rated to withstand 1.75" hail at 81 MPH. I don't know what the specific information is for Hardie Plank. Damage to the LP should be relatively easy to repair depending upon the location since it's not face nailed. Of course, I don't want to find out what it takes to repair it. LOL!
