The moment alicent entered with green dress was a big moment, kinda the equivalent to when villains in a comic book movie or show get their costume. HBO said they plan for this show to run 3 to 4 seasons.

The difference between the guy from Essos Dario was that he was willing to be Dany's mistress, let her take a king and be on the side, he understood that she wanted to be Queen, Dany told him to stay, Criston after one night was just like give up everything for me and let's go be poor in the free cities

Daario was willing to be Dany's fubu. Its Tyrion who advised Dany to leave him back in Essos and appoint him as a caretaker there. The show doesnt show Daario's ultimate fate. My guess is the people there revolted when they learn that Dany is dead and Daario was overthrown.

The ending montage was probably my favorite scene of the series so far. Give me the aesthetics of the red hue of the weirdwood tree glowing in twilight, give me those flickering lights, give me the gloomy ambience of a GoT wedding with a equally gloomy soundtrack & it’s A1! The slightly overlooked heartfelt exchange Otto & Alicent had at the beginning was the most significant moment of the episode imo, other than Viserys. It's the Tywin Jaime "we can establish a dynasty that last a thousand years" moment. The wedding sets up the first chess pieces for Dance of Dragons. Rhaenyra and Laenor were being told their wedding vows, but it was Alicent and Criston who were getting married.

Great reaction as always! Just for background Aerys II was the mad king, Dany’s father. Aegon V was his grandfather, a good king but got a bunch of the family killed trying to hatch dragons at their vacation palace called Summerhall. Jon’s daddy Rhaegar was actually born there while the tragedy was actively happening, like the stress threw his mom into labor and she ended up giving birth outside.

i noticed you guys didn’t really notice ser harwin strong that much in this episode (the guy who grinned at rhaenyra after her hunt, caught her running around kings landing with daemon but didn’t say anything, & saved her during the fight in this episode) but when you guys were talking about the preview for the next episode i know it seems like rhaenyras kids look like they could be cristons but they’re actually rumored to be harwins

So many people were saying how excited they were for matt playing Daemon. After i seen original trailer 3 months ago i thought why! OMG! My fave character hands down. Their are some great actors/actresses on this show but he is absolutely fantastic. Didnt even think he was cute. Oh my. That has changed. He has so much swagger i almost hyperventilate everytime hes on screen. Love him!

The episode is called "We Light the Way", which is the phrase of house Hightower. Queen Alicent wearing the Hightower green for the first time is a signal of her character's inflection point: after learning that Rhaenyra has lied to her face many times, and realizing her dad got banished for telling the truth. This is only the beginning of the real conflict regarding the Targaryen Civil War.

Apparently, next week's episode is where we meet Emma D'Arcy as older Rhaenyra and Olivia Cooke as older Alicent respectively. Honestly, these reactions are my way of watching the show, and I've been enjoying the shit out of these videos/this series. Holy hell, is this show dope!

Tasha you’re right. Jason and I think his name is Tyland Lannister are twins. That was mentioned when Jason met Rhanerya. Tyland is on the small council of the King. For the time skips, they have 172 years to cover. So far we’ve only gone 4 years. So depending on how they cover it, it could last for several years.

They're not covering 172 years. They're covering the story of a civil war called the Dance of Dragons. This first season is a prologue covering 30 years of backstory and they've confirmed that the show will be 3-4 seasons. The actual war last only 2 years. They've stated that this war is what the show is going to cover, there is no guarantee they will turn it into an anthology series, that was just speculation by an interviewer.

Alicent now has kids with the king and the circumstances leading to this don't really matter anymore because things played out how they did. I don't think if the roles were reversed Rhaenyra would go against her house for Alicent. The king told her not to say anything to Rhaenyra and her father wanted her to get close to the king. Rhaenyra lying to her and sullying herself are small in comparison to what's most likely going through her mind. She probably had hope for their friendship and hope that she won't do what every other ruler does when it comes to people who challenge their reign but when she realized Rhaenyra lied to her face on her mother's grave she realized what her father told her was true. Otto is a sneaky bastard for sure but I don't know why people are acting like girls in Alicent's position have much of a say. PS. "We Light the Way" are the words of House Hightower. This episode, particularly that dress scene was meant to signify that Alicent is clocking in.

@@LaCheeserie it was her business, she's the queen and at the time was supporting Rhaenyra, Rhaenyra being sullied and her virtue being in question would unmistakably fyck up Rhaenyra's chances of marriage and in turn fyck up her her claim to the throne. Also Rhaenyra still lied, don't act like she didn't know that what Alicent was asking wasn't just about Daemon entering her, but was also about if she was entered, so don't go on about her not lying because Alicent's words weren't exact, there was context and Rhaenyra picked up on the context clues and still continued to lie to her "friend", Alicent sees this as a betrayal, and frankly so do I, and most people should aswell, but there is implicit bias due to this show being a show about Targaryens and them being the protagonists, and a lot of people not seeing their faults, even though there have been many Targaryens mentioned in this show and in GOT to be horrible Meagor and Aerys they were insane, and now when the show continues on the next season or so on we'll see Rhaenyra show the signs, and eventually we'll get the woman nicknamed "Meagor with teats"

I've seen a lot of folks say Joffery "deserved it" or was asking for it but like, its very clear that he wasn't trying to threten Cryston, he was trying to clear the air and say they should look out for each other. But Cryston is losing his mind over there, he knows Alicent could ruin his life, his misguided attempt to make Rheynera throw her life away failed and now he sees threats everywhere and just loses his temper. I'm sure Alicent is gonna stop him from facing any concequences but honestly I've lost all patience for this dude, he needs to pay for mudering an innocent man who in no way deserved or warented what he got.

I don’t think Alicent’s issue is about Rhae’s loyalty. She realizes that Rhae isn’t as honest/truthful as she once believed and as her father told her would kill her children (and lie to her face about their safety) if she doesn’t gain support for Aegon’s place on the throne (the significance of the green dress btw). She was silently declaring her position and seeking support for the throne.

The fight didn't come out of nowhere. Ser Joffrey egged Cristan Cole earlier on with that smack talk and then Cristan Cole saw Daemon with Rhaenarys looking like they were about to kiss or what not and that was what set him off and he went after Ser Joffrey out of rage. There was a whole lot going on during that dance scene so it was shot from the point of view of King Viserys as to make the whole thing seem a whole like from chaotic.

I loved the young actresses, I think they have done such a good job and while I havent read the books I'm looking forward to when the civil war kicks off and knife come out for everyone. I think Rhaenyra is seen as a sweet girl, but when shes grown shes gonna do anything to protect herself been queen and her kids.

Never lost in combat and didnt just beat his opponents he would beat them to a pulp, barely living, many ended up as cripples, Think of someone with the skill of Jamie lannister but with the ferocity and disregard for life like the mountain. to be fair, he couldn't get rid of daemon in front of everyone, because the reason he kicked daemon out was for theoretically taking his daughter innocence away like that, so it's technically a secret he was kicked out. if he made a move against daemon in front of everyone daemon could easily make a show of it and it could make more problems. it's best daemon is dealt with in private because of the situation that got him kicked out. that said...i also felt the same way lol like get this man outta here right now

The younger actresses said that they weren't even allowed to talk to the actresses that plays their older characters. I think they did that to show that these two older actresses are going to be totally different from the younger characters in every way. Even so she would choose her uncle before she chooses Christian Cole because of status a high house suitor. I really real for Cole he got his broken but buy doing doing this The only person who knows when her secret is Cole Laenor herself and Alicent where as The people who know about Laenors secret are his mother his father Cole Rhaenyra himself and probably soon to be Alicent and we all know if the queen finds out she is definitely going to use it against Rhaenyra in some way.
