I think it is important to remember that Viserys’s council was prepared to crown Aegon regardless of what Alicent said. Viserys’s last words only made Alicent feel better about something that was inevitable.

How can you put the blame on Aegon? He never got the chance to proove himself. All he wanted was to help and be a good ruler to the smallfolk but he was never given the chance. His council and mother are jsut using him as a tool. He only wanted the love and approval he never get. Only Sunfyre and Cole cared for him as a human and not a tool, which is sad.

Facts. For all of my problems with Aegon, none of them are with his office as a king. He's not great at it, but his heart was in the right place if you watch 2x02. He just was ill-prepared to interact deeply with the structures that he controls as king. Rhaenyra wasn't. Every Green can see that Aegon wasnt suited to be king and that rhaenyra was the obvious better pick, but because Otto and Alicent were so power hungry, they put someone in charge that is a wild horse.

I think the main thing that all the Team Black supporters need to realize is that the reason why they have Milly come back to act in Season 2 for these dream sequences is that THIS is the way Daemon sees Rhaenyra. He doesn't respect her as the adult Queen who is his ruler. If you remember when she asked him directly if he accepts her as Queen and ruler he never answered.

Aegon was doing well before the death of Jaehaerys, he was ready and willing to help the Smallfolk. Tbh I feel bad for him because he was pushed into a position he didn’t want, and was told that his mere existence was a threat to Rhaenyra his whole life. I’d self medicate too. If we’re going by the books, Aegon has more claim to the Iron Throne than Rhaenyras kids and has as much a claim as Rhaenyra. They definitely white washed Rhaenyra into a proto-Daenerys. Personally I think Aegon’s one of the most nuanced characters in the Dance - I like your reactions but it’s a shame you can only see one side of Aegon when he’s actually a very dynamic character.

I feel more for aegon than rhaenys, he did nothing to deserve anything that's happening to him be it the death of his child or being pushed for being king or trying to prove something that he hasn't been trained for his entire life. He was never loved (except for sunfyre) or cared for by anyone around him even his mother treats him like shit..... How can you expect someone to be bestowed with wisdom while you are the one who poisoned his mind every chance you got, yet he's trying to be a KING. On the other hand rhaenys and meleys are experienced and synfyre is of no match to them besides the fact that she literally smothered thousands at the dragonpit while 'escaping'.

Before his son was murdered we saw that he was trying to be a good king. But now he's consumed by anger and rightfully so. His son was murdered, his council plots and makes decisions behind his back and his mother is a bigger black supporter than Daemon is at this point. When he tried to ask for advice, Alicent literally told him do nothing and become a puppet of your council

@@IndianCalypso that only applies when there's a peaceful reign but Aegon became a King on the verge of war so he has no time to sit down and learn. Aegon despite not wanting to be a King was forced into the job and while he's not the best he still tried his best. He even lost his heir because of this but still wants to do his best, it's the duty of his council and family to keep him updated about every action that's being laid. Taking actions behind your king's back is low-key treason. Even Otto had to inform Alicent everything so she can speak as his voice but Aegon isn't even given that much chance without people doing everything without informing him. People expect him to be good for nothing for their own gain and glory. I'm team Black myself but people need to give Aegon his due credit.

I cried a lot in this episode. Eve Best deserves every award. And these CGI dragons elicit more emotion than any human actors. BUT... I'm really struggling. I've been Team Black since day one, but after this week, I am starting to switch to Green. Rhaenyra has shown no signs of intelligent strategy, and her council are idiots. Especially now, without Rheanys, the Black's best asset. Team Black is just a big fail so far. Aemond is nasty, but he's brilliant. Cole is evil, but he is rocking. I like to cheer for smart strategists.

@@EmmaSoyer72 I don’t read the book because I don’t trust the bias information, as we see on the show Aegon was eager for war and got burned for it due to lack of experience and Rhaenyra actions may come off hesitant but she’s much more calmer and careful that what I respect in a leader. Rhaenyra has experienced dragons on her side while Aegon only has one and that’s Vhagar. Do you really expect her to rush into battle while Vhagar is lurking around?

It's Daemon who was reluctant to send the dragons, wanting to privilege dialogue first. On the other hand Rhaenys wanted Rhaenyra to use the dragons. But in this show they gave that Daemon's line to Rhaenys and Rhaenyra. See how they are biased toward her?

If you find the show persuading you that Rhaenyra could do no wrong, then you need to open your mind and watch it thoroughly because currently they are loosing and in the streets of Kings Landing she is paraded as the villain. Like I said I am no team at all but if I have to choose for the show I am on team black since this WHOLE MESS of a war started due to the consistent plot for the Greens to be on top.

You know what I just thought of. Why the heck isn't Jon Snows hair white? Viserys had kids with Alicent who doesn't have white hair and all their children have silver hair which indicates that the male Targaryen's have the dominant gene for hair color. Jon is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, therefore he should have the white hair.

@@dominiccastro6483 In the books her mother is a baratheon, so she has black hair because "the seed is strong". In the show they made her hair white so people would know that she is a targaryen, which was a stupid decision because it basically confirms rhaenyra's kids are bastards

@@dominiccastro6483 lmao Rhaenys does have black hair in the books from her Baratheon genes. I’m pretty sure in s1 we see a black streak in her hair when she has it up (maybe I’m wrong about that?) but in the books her hair is black which makes the legitimacy of Rhaenyra’s children more vague

If you had then you would know that book Rhaenys does indeed have the black hair of the Baratheon side of her family rather than the silver hair of the Targaryens. It's stated very clearly along with the fact that as she got older, her black hair became streaked with white.
