Whoever wrote the teenagers in this show obviously has teenagers because I’ve never seen such accurate portrayals. Between Rhaenyra telling the bard to play a song on repeat and Aegon just being a gross teenage boy without a filter, it’s too on point.

House of the dragon is actually (and secretly) a comedy series about a family who can’t get along and people just pretend it’s not. The kids even fought who gets to keep and ride their family’s biggest horse. . . I mean dragon. And teen Aegon is the drunk cousin who gets the blame for doing nothing, since he’s always asleep when everything goes down. 😂 😂 😂

I didn't even notice until I saw this video that when Viserys says baby Joffrey looks like Laenor, Alicent just looks Rhaenyra dead in the eye with absolute consternation. Like at this moment Alicent and Rhaenyra just both forget about their feud or the fact that it's supposed to be a secret none of them must talk about. They're just staring at each other in shared dismay at Viserys' idiocy. Priceless.

The funniest line in the entire show is in Episode 8: King Viserys: I want to have supper, Otto. Otto: It is the morning, Your Grace. King Viserys: Tonight. The whole of my family... are gathered at the Red Keep. I bet this line went over 90% of viewers' heads. It showed Viserys that Otto had lost faith in his mental abilities to not only rule, but to have a coherent discussion about the simple time of day. And Viserys proceeded to pwn him in his gentle, refined, Kingly way.

I think Rhaenerya was two years older than Laena (cause she was 14 when Laena was 12). And Alicent was older than Rhaenerya. At least in the show. I think in the books Alicent was 10 years older than Rhaenerya, and Rhaenerya was 5 years younger than Laena. That's why it didn't make sense in the show when Daemon said he didn't marry Rhaenerya cause she was a child, but he married Laena who was younger.

@@queenmoreau2098 yea but i think it was more weird to daemon to marry his 19 yr old niece (in the show rhaenyra is 18/19 in ep 4) cuz he saw her grow up and has a soft spot for her, minus the lust. I think Laena being younger didn't matter as much to him cuz: Firstly, he doesn't love her as much as he does rhae (in the show), and she was an outsider with whom he didn't have any connection, prior to ep 5. And secondly, she was of age, 15? i believe, and in this fictional world it's not considered immoral to marry a girl of 15/16

Both the actress that play Rhaenyra are older than both the actress that play Alicent, I can see a pattern. Alicent’s children are older than Rhaenyra’s though.

To be fair, before it came to be seen as an insult "tavern wench" and "serving wench" were actually completely legitimate job titles for women who worked as servers of food or drink, particularly for women on the younger side. So while it CAN mean prostitute, it can also be the same as calling out "Waiter!" today.

Viserys single dad energy always made me laugh. The actor really did a great job btw. I really liked his character, no matter how badly he screwed up choosing his daughter as an heir.

I just hope the show can remain great without him. I started out rooting for just about everyone but by episode 8 they've all done some shitty things, Viserys included, but he's just too damn likable, so I decided to be on team King Vizzy T. Guess I got to pick a new side soon.

@@CelesChere9999 George R.R. Martin writes a lot of the characters in this part of the story as morally grey, it's hard to root 100% for any character given they all have fair motivations but also strong flaws.
