She lost her father and had a miscarriage she doesn't really get time to grieve her losses. she just got the news and she now has this big responsibility on her shoulders she trying to do her best and everyone else just wants to rush into war . Rhaenyra is also considering what her father said about the realm needing to be united Daemon is chaotic like Loki the Norse God one moment he is happy and than another day he is pissed off at you. Daemon is also grieving his lost baby. Daemon also probably doesn't want her to be so caught up with visions dreams like viserys did not living in the present. He loves his family and power . I personally feel like he does love Rhaenyra and he did care for Lena not necessarily love ,he also seems to be angry with all the political bullshit and wants Rhaenyra to act like a dragon 🐉

As a book reader i can see why others are upset, but i'm loving it. The unreliable narrator role flips everything we know on its head. A dragon is not a slave.

It’s not about it seeming like an accident, the show is showing that the dragons cannot be controlled, it’s like what the king said earlier in the season, people thinking that the Targaryens can control dragons is an illusion, Lukes dragon, like any animal, felt scared and cornered so it lashed out with fire, that’s why Luke said “no serve me” and that pissed Vhagar off so she wanted to kill Arrax, the riders had completely lost control at that point

Well in the premiere episode, Viserys did tell Rhaenera that the Targaryen control over the dragons was an illusion and the last episode clearly showed that was true.

I feel obligated to say that Arrax and Vhagar acted out of themselves over Storms End. Lucerys’ death isn’t what Aemond intended. Probably just wanted to scare and mess with him a bit. Arrax set flame to Vhagar likely out of fear and Vhagar attacked in rage. They both had no control over their dragons in that moment. Now I’m not a team green supporter, nor a team black. I’m completely neutral and I love the direction the story is going. Can’t wait for season 2

The 4 blood lines are coming from Alicent, so YAY! Confirmation that Daeron exists! His sigil is the one separate from the other 3 because he’s in Oldtown and the others are in Kingslanding. Aemonds sigil is the sapphire. The other 2 are Helaena and Aegon and we see their 3 kids bloodlines coming from them.

I'm even having trouble having sympathy for Vhagar now. Technically it was in self defense but she shrugged off Arrax fire pretty easy. Even before that, she didn't have to listen to Aemond and chase the pair. She disobeyed him in the end anyways and it's not like the green's can punish her and risk upsetting their greatest weapon. And even before that, she chose to bond with Aemond in the first place.

Daemon loved his brother, but I think he's super frustrated that R is now showing signs of being like him - showing signs of weakness when it comes to this conflict. She had just implied that she's considering giving up her crown.

So Corlys controlling the trade routes of Westeros shows to people that this version of Corlys is based on this real life medieval figure, just as the Game Thrones was based off the war of the roses English civil war.

I let the theme play too! I don't ever watch a show as it airs, this is the first time I've ever done this, so I'm 100% listening to that theme one last time!! I noticed that when it started, my captions said 'epic theme music'. I'm like duh. The most epic.

Daeron, who isn't even mentioned in Season 1, is probably the best of Alicent and Viserys' kids, possibly because he wasn't raised by them, he was fostered in Oldtown and raised by his Hightower relatives and the Maesters.

So many parallels this ep! Even down to Jace saying we have dragons send us, and Corlys being all, see the prince has the right idea, aka, ep2. The best was that ending shot tho. We ended ep1 on a shot of little Rhaes scared but determined face. We end this ep, on big Rhaes angry and determined face. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a bit more than the usual 2 year turn around from GOT seasons, considering how many dragons they’re going to have to CGI next season lol

The daemon put his hand on Rhaenyra was it because of the prophecy because viserys didn't tell him (this doesn't exist in the books the Writers vented in the series) I understand the fight we both have because they don't talk like that on the same page, make the daemon put his hand on Rhaenyra, I think that was over the top, it wasn't necessary and the moment the daemon lets go of rhaenyra, you can see in the eyes of the daemon and Rhaenyra that they are both suffering and Rhaenyra says she never told you that and she smirks because she's realizing that the viserys chose her as heir to the throne because viserys didn't tell the daemon and Rhaenyra thought viserys had told him because the daemon had 10 years as heir and Viserys and after those 10 years, viserys never told him so he keeps imagining in the daemon's head how my brother who i loved so much never trusted me right now the daemon must be very hurt because daemon always wanted to show his worth to viserys and he loves his brother the daemon and a person who he has a hot head, he is proud, but he also has feelings, but sometimes he ends up expressing it wrong, then the daemon loses another child because he already lost one, then he discovers that his brother died Then later he discovers that his brother never trusted him and that it hurts his heart and daemon is feeling all of this but he ends up putting everyone else these feelings in rhaenyra who is not to blame it's the moment he lets go she sees his eyes of sadness and before he leaves if you notice he looks down he looks at her belly Then he remembers the daughter they lost, Daemon didn't stay with Rhaenyra because he didn't want to make the same choice he made with Laena the daemon has truama in fact the daemon always had for those who don't know the daemon's mother died in childbirth so the daemon already has a trauma because he never wanted to have children, so the daemon didn't want to be with Rhaenyra so he wouldn't make the same choice there when Rhaenyra loses the child Rhaenyra Stays with the daughter since the daemon goes to the beach to suffer there that reminded me in the first episode of the throne scene there is a daemon and viserys is the daemon tells viserys that each person suffers in a different way, and it reminds me of the scene the two are suffering each alone but rhaenyra and daemon are grieving for their daughter unfortunately we didn't see much of the other side of the daemon this season because the writers and HBO preferred not to show in my opinion the most wronged is Matt Smith Mano he made several scenes of the daemon showing the sentimental side of the daemon him hugging his daughters is him on the beach grieving for the death of his daughter with Rhaenyra and he spends hours and hours on the floor grieving for visenya's death and we simply received in this episode just a quick scene of him grieving for his daughter in the book it says a lot that the daemon is a great father and that he loved his two Wives Laena and Rhaenyra unlike the series which showed very little and I think it's really sad because they're not showing the real daemon Of course he's hot headed and he's crazy but man he loves his family he would never hurt his family until the actor himself says that the daemon would give his life for Viserys is Rhaenyra and very sad what they are doing to this character. I've always wondered why Rhaenyra didn't send Rhaenys to Storm's End with Luke? Luke is a 14-year-old boy who has never been away from home, Rhaenys is an experienced and sophisticated princess who is also the cousin of Lord Baratheon, it would make sense to send two dragons instead of one.

I think Alicent tried to follow the rules; she believed that Viserys wanted their son to succeed him (or she allowed herself to believe, the distinction is slight). But Aemond did not, and terrible tragedy arises. I don't blame the dragons one bit; it's all Aemond's fault. Vhagar didn't heave herself up into the air from the ground at Storm's End of her own volition instead of spending the night there; it was Aemond's decision to take to the skies to ambush his nephew. Aemond could have turned Vhagar away after that initial flyover, and headed for King's Landing, she wasn't too angry then, but no, he let her, or encouraged her to chase and snap at the juvenile dragon ridden by Luke. Arrax spit fire at Vhagar in an effort to defend himself and his rider - he was too small and not fast enough in the rain to do anything else. Alicent certainly didn't send Aemond off with a directive to use his dragon to murder Rhaenyra's child. Aemond just had to indulge his bwah-hah-hah scary villain fantasies to scare the kid. Hope he's satisfied now; Aemond's last look in the episode implies that he realizes what some of the consequences of Luke's death might be. But I doubt he realizes all of them.

Have to admit the dragons are exceptionally well made in HOTD , the soundtracks in the episode, the gory dragon fighting, the acting, ALL phenomenal, that last long single shot was a perfect ending to the season with my respect to opinions that it wasn't a strong enough ending considering the year and a half of wait, which yeah i agree but regardless there is no doubt this is a beautifully made episode. Now let's get serious 💀 A crown would have added a perfect final touch to that phenomenal last one take shot, she was in a counsel meeting discussing war strategies she wasn't in her bed chambers so technically when she got the news she got them as both a mother and a queen at war. the crown would have given royal fire and blood impression and her facial expressions and eyes would have given motherly wrath so it would have added to the power of the moment and shot composition and been an indication it's not only a mother that is angry now it's a Queen as well. I honestly was never a fan of Rhaenyra's political decisions this episode confirmed my suspicions, the high towers aren't safe, i still can't believe she just sent the kids there case in point they already made a deal with the greens before Luce got there which was relatively fast so they didn't even consider being loyal to her until she made a huge offering that's something was to be expected the Heirs should have never been involved in the initial plan especially that they went as the high tower lord said empty handed like send him a dragon egg or something not that it would have mattered much as Aemond didn't exactly care and took it literally as to not hurt him indoors and taunted him knowing the difference in dragon sizes clearly a dragon is not a slave they never had absolute control over them you'd think that's a given apparently not and not an Heir is dead ironically enough Daemon had to say I prefer to feed my son's to the Dragons which is basically what happened to luce and the queen has to deal with a loss of two children to the greens and the guilt of knowing she sent her son to die because she didn't want to draw first blood. I say that was already done the min her new born was delivered dead out of stress because she had to flee traitors. but she wanted to follow her dad's footsteps unfortunately wasn't well thought out because i doubt her father would have thought sending the heirs themselves to carry on a task of a raven was a smart idea. I honestly feel like the writers forced this narrative that a woman in power can't see the whole picture and only sees certain angles a mother in reality would have never just sent her son's off after she just lost one and those are not just any sons they are the Targaryen heirs not realistic even for GOT plots reminds me of the original series when Jon and the fellas all went beyond the wall to capture a single walker and got a dragon killed for no damn reason and then they thought saying you had to see it to know would make it logical lol , the writers piss me off , GRRM is fascinated by the Targaryens but hates them deep down and has abit of misogynistic outlook on women especially those in power. their a serious lack of real depth and complexity not to mention understanding to how it is to be a woman a mother or a queen. as we all know by now a dragon is not a slave they never had absolute control over the dragons you'd think they already know that at least know the difference in dragon sizes and how they can get easily aggravated. Aemond's unfounded ego and eagerness for revenge is his down fall. the high towers, Aemon and his dragon all done. i bet Daemon will take on Aemon and Rhaenyra will start with the towers she won't care if it happened indoor or not :p

I've so enjoyed your reaction to House of the Dragon! Keep it up for Season 2. I'm a huge fan of Corlys & Rhaenys, they're my favorite couple in the show. (I'm glad I read the book, even if I know that much of Season 2 is going to make me want to cry). I just wish we could have seen Baela's dragon, and more of Helaena's dragon Dreamfyre (who is probably the mother of Daenerys' three dragon 'children')....Thanks for your videos.

Hey girl, so let me ask, is it worth reading the book at this point? I tried reading fire and ice and kind of got bored because I was mid deep into GOT at the time, and was shocked at how different the series was from the book at that time. But if you are stating that the book readers are pissed right now, is it still worth reading the book to understand some of the complexities s and nuances of the characters. For instance, when Daemon was singing in High Valerian to the dragon that I suspect is Vermithor (sp) and how that was the dragon's favorite song. The fire the dragon emitted was more of happiness and joy, and not so much, "Who dis? I will light yo ass up!" Would you recommend reading the books at this time?

i never took the prophecy miscommunication as being the only plot driver. Saying "you will make a fine queen" doesn't mean Alicent actually completely changed her mind and gave up on a 20 year old fear/grudge. It's more likely that it was a heartfelt gesture where she got carried away in the moment. The prophecy didn't start the coup. The coup was always gonna happen because of all the primogeniture/ dynastic reasons. The prophecy was simply used by Otto and others as a propaganda pretext and by Alicent as a self-deluding tool of moral justification. Which goes along with her show character of "trying to hide behind the cloak of righteousness". People have parallel motivations.
